The rapid increase of the number of electric vehicles (EVs) has posed great challenges to the safe operation of the distribution network. Therefore, this paper proposes an ordered charging scheduling method for EV in the cloud-edge collaborative environment. Firstly, the uncertainty of user load demands, charging station requirements, and renewable outputs are taken into consideration. Correspondingly, the residential distribution points, EV charging stations, and renewable plants are regarded as the edge nodes. Then, the load demands and renewable outputs are predicted by a model combined with the convolutional neural network and deep belief network (CNN-DBN). Secondly, the power supply plans for charging stations are determined at the cloud side aiming at minimizing the operating cost of the distribution network via collecting the forecasting results. Finally, the charging station formulates the personalized charging scheduling strategies according to EV’s charging plans and the charging demands in order to follow the supply plan. The simulation results show that the load peak-to-valley difference and standard deviation of the proposed algorithm are reduced by 30.13% and 16.94%, respectively, compared with the disorderly charging and discharging behavior, which has verified the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method.

Background: This paper deeply studies the influence of the capacity distribution of urban charging and replacing power stations on the distribution network and gives the optimal solution. Objective: The optimal configuration scheme of the charging and replacing station has been given to reduce the impact of the charging and replacing station on the distribution network. Methods: First, the Monte Carlo simulation method is used to extract the influencing factors. The probability load models of the battery replacement station, the slow charging station and the fast charging station are established respectively. The capacity distribution is represented by three different types of charging and switching station configuration ratios. Furthermore, the impact of the charging and replacing power station on the economics and safety of the distribution network is analyzed. Different from other literature, the “peak-filling” model with “minimum peak load”, “maximum valley load” and “minimum peak-to-valley difference” is established, and then PSO is adopted. Results: Finally, the actual configuration is used to compare and analyze the four configuration schemes to prove the superiority of the optimization scheme. Conclusion: Three models have different key influencing factors, so that the electric vehicle load forecasting is more targeted and accurate. The results show that more battery replacement stations can reduce the impact of EV charging on the distribution network, and the construction of the supply replenishment should be based on the construction of the power station.

— The penetration of Electric Vehicle (EV) on the distribution network has been increased worldwide and this has also boosted up the impacts on power system performance affecting voltage profile, voltage sensitivity factor, harmonics, overloading, increased grid loss resulting in reduced efficiency and power quality. A coordinated charging schedule can reduce this stress on the power grid and show significant improvement of network parameters. In this study, by simulating through Power Factory built-in MV/LV distribution test system, the impact of increasing EV on the distribution system has been analyzed and a simple approach of charging schedule for a centralized charging station has been proposed that will minimize the deteriorating impacts on connected distribution system due to EV charging.

Exponential technological-based growth in industrialization and urbanization, and the ease of mobility that modern motorization offers have significantly transformed social structures and living standards. As a result, electric vehicles (EVs) have gained widespread popularity as a mode of sustainable transport. The increasing demand for of electric vehicles (EVs) has reduced the some of the environmental issues and urban space requirements for parking and road usage. The current body of EV literature is replete with different optimization and empirical approaches pertaining to the design and analysis of the EV ecosystem; however, probing the EV ecosystem from a management perspective has not been analyzed. To address this gap, this paper develops a systems-based framework to offer rigorous design and analysis of the EV ecosystem, with a focus on charging station location problems. The study framework includes: (1) examination of the EV charging station location problem through the lens of a systems perspective; (2) a systems view of EV ecosystem structure; and (3) development of a reference model for EV charging stations by adopting the viable system model. The paper concludes with the methodological implications and utility of the reference model to offer managerial insights for practitioners and stakeholders.
