Based on the geological conditions of 6# coal seam and 8# coal seam in Xieqiao Coal Mine, to determine reasonable entry layout of lower seam in multi-seam mining, alternate internal entry layout, alternate exterior entry layout and overlapping entry layout were put forward and simulated by FLAC3D. Then stress distribution and displacement characteristics of surrounding rock were analyzed in the three ways of entry layout, leading to the conclusion that alternate internal entry layout is a better choice for multi-seam mining, for which makes the entry located in stress reduce zone and reduces the influence of abutment pressure of upper coal seam mining to a certain extent,. And the mining practice of Xieqiao Coal Mine tested the results, which will offer a beneficial reference for entry layout with similar geological conditions in multi-seam mining.

Multi-coal-seam mining creates surrounding rock control difficulties, because the mining of a coal face in one seam can affect coal faces in another. We examine the effects of multi-coal-seam mining on the evolution of the deviatoric stress distribution and plastic zone in the roadway surrounding rock. In particular, we use numerical simulation, theoretical calculation, drilling detection, and mine pressure observation to study the distribution and evolution characteristics of deviatoric stress on Tailgate 8709 in No. 11 coal seam in Jinhuagong mine when the N8707 and N8709 coal faces in No. 7-4 coal seam and the N8707 and N8709 coal faces in No. 11 coal seam are mined. The evolution laws of deviatoric stress and the plastic zone of roadway surrounding rock in the advance and behind sections of the coal face are studied, and a corresponding control technology is proposed. The results show that the peak value of deviatoric stress increases with the advance of the coal face, and the positions of the peak value of deviatoric stress and the plastic zone become deeper. The deflection angle of the peak stress after mining at each coal face and the characteristics of the peak zone of deviatoric stress and the plastic zone of the roadway surrounding rock under the disturbance of multi-coal-seam mining are determined. In conclusion, the damage range in the roadway roof in the solid-coal side and coal pillar is large and must be controlled. A combined support technology based on high-strength and high pretension anchor cables and truss anchor cables is proposed; long anchor cables are used to strengthen the support of the roadway roof in the solid-coal side and coal pillar. The accuracy of the calculated plastic zone range and the reliability of the combined support technology are verified through drilling detection and mine pressure observation on site. This research can provide a point of reference for roadway surrounding rock control under similar conditions.

Difficulties of tunnel construction mainly appear in the entrance and exit stage, some adverse geological problems may occur. In terms of the tunnel at the Changsha-Kunming section of the Shanghai-Kunming passenger line, firstly, adverse geological phenomena at tunnel exits was described. Secondly, major factors leading to disasters were listed, including geology, hydrology and construction procedure. Combined with in-situ conditions, Finite Element Method (FEM) was used to analyze the instability mechanism of surrounding rock after the upper arch gate was excavated by three-bench seven-step exaction method. At last, through comparison between computed result and measuring data, several basic conclusions was obtained. It can make much sense to similar engineering.

The stability of the tunnel portal section under poor terrain and geological condition has always been the focus of construction safety. The stability problem has become more complex for the erosion accumulation area under the valley. In this paper, firstly the stability of the tunnel portal is classified. Combined with engineering cases, the FEM numerical method is used to simulate the supporting structure and construction process of the tunnel. Based on the distribution of the plastic zone and displacement of surrounding rock, the mechanism of the instability of the tunnel portal is analyzed. Through the optimized construction scheme that arranges pile foundation in tunnel arch foundation, the bearing capacity of foundation has been greatly improved, which has effectively prevented the instability of surrounding rock caused by the slope deformation and foundation settlement. The conclusions that have been drawn in this paper can be used for reference for related projects.

It takes the typical coal of mining in S2S9 face of Daping mine, using the 3-D numerical simulation to reveal on its face with the vertical characteristics of the stress field and displacement field .The study showed that the overburden strata migration features during the mining process in in thick seam mining of Daping mine.This research can be a reference for safety and high efficient coal mining of other parts of the soft overburden in extra- thick seam mining technology.
