The 5th International Symposium of Sustainable Landscape Development (The 5th ISSLD) is a continuation of the previous symposium, The 4th ISSLD, which was conducted in 2019 in Bogor city. The main theme of the 5th ISSLD is “Landscape Transformation,” which aims to address the various aspects of landscape transformation considering sustainable landscape development. The landscape is a dynamic system that evolves. Landscape transformation can occur as a result of natural phenomena and human-made processes as well. The pandemic of Covid-19 is one example of how a catastrophic transform the lives of humans and the landscape. As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, humans are known as rulers on earth with all their habits, having such limited movements that other landscape elements are also affected. The new normal habits make humans more disciplined in maintaining sanitation, thus impacting the cleanliness of the landscape. Restrictions on human movement have reduced human intervention in animal life, vegetation, and landscapes, thus providing opportunities for nature to heal. These things are happening around us, where the landscape is transforming during the COVID-19 pandemic. List of Invited Spakers, Editorial Committees, Scientific Committees, Steering Committees, Organizing Committees, Assistant Editors, Host are available in the pdf.

Expert is a person who has higher education and skill in certain field. Expert collaboration is required in sustainable development process at all level or stages. However, in Malaysia, expert collaboration was not at encouraging level towards promoting sustainable development process of recreational forest landscape. Objective of this study is to understand stake holder’s (management staff, local resident and user of recreational forest) perception towards necessity to form expert collaboration in recreational forest landscape development process. Several recreational forest sites in Selangor has been selected as a case study. Questionnaire form was use to gain perception from stake holder. Results has revealed that the necessity to form expert collaboration for recreational forest landscape development is must. Lack of expert collaboration is due to neglect to share knowledge and opinion, lack of knowledge about their importance’s as well as no awareness. These phenomenons have resulted to some of man-made landscape elements was not harmonize with existing forest environment. This study concludes that expert collaboration must be implemented for recreational forest landscape development in Malaysia for the sake of their sustainability, to solve weaknesses in creating special design identity and for the sake of sustainable landscape development of recreational forest.

The article deals with the peculiarities of the linguistic expression of the NATIVE LAND concept in Oleksii Dovhiy's poetry. The study found that the current stage of linguistics is characterized by an understandingof the concept as a general concept and complex of culturally determined perceptions of the subject. The concept itself is a designated element of the ideal that represents the reality of the speaker through the prism of his culture. The article argues that the individual's ideas about the subject are realized in the artistic text through a figurative system. The image is considered as the main means of artistic generalization of reality, as a sign of the objective correlate of human experiences and as a special form of social consciousness. In Oleksii Dovhiy's poetic texts the image of the native land is one of the most vividly presented. For the poet's lyrical hero, this image serves as a special place, a sacred locus, the beginning of all things. This vision of the lyrical hero is expressed in the nominations for the designation of landscape elements, natural phenomena and their characteristics. Supplements the analyzed locus introduced by the author image of the Big Father, expressed by the respective linguistic units. The author's poetic language presents linguistic constructions that explicate the image of the native land as the beginning of all things a place in which the memory of the heroic past and the difficult tests are stored at the same time.

AbstractBiophilic design elements are found around us in many landscape elements while we do not perceive them as biophilic design patterns. By developing our understanding of biophilic design as a phenomenon, we could discover simple ways to utilize landscape elements and transform them into a good biophilic design that might have positive impacts on a user’s health and well-being. Activating existing biophilic elements as an approach to a sustainable landscape has not been studied yet. Therefore, we rather analyse some international case studies in order to understand how biophilic design patterns can be implemented and see their different forms. Later, we will also go through an Egyptian biophilic design pattern case study and implement it to reach a sustainable landscape model. To summarize, the purpose of this study is to present a new sustainable landscape approach by activating biophilic design patterns in order to increase landscape efficiency.
