Abstract Reproducibility of reading "N-Multistix" dipsticks by a semi-automated urinalysis instrument (Ames' "Clini-Tek") has been described for artifically prepared samples. Glucose, ketone, urobilinogen, and nitrite showed high reproducibility (greater than 90%) for reading multiple samples at predetermined analyte concentrations. Determination of proteinuria showed the lowest proportion of false positives (2-3%) and false negatives (0%). Determination of hemoglobinuria and bilirubinuria by dipsticks were the least reproducible. Urobilinogen showed no interference from bilirubin in concentrations up to 32 mg/liter. Precision was high for results for quality-control capsules provided by the manufacturer.

Abstract The antiepileptic drugs diphenylhydantoin and phenobarbital were measured in serum by a new commercially available enzyme immunoassay procedure ("EMIT," Syva Corp.). The procedure requires <5 min and no more than 50 µl of serum per determination. It is simple; only four steps (pipetting and diluting with an automatic pipettor-dilutor) are required before spectrophotometry. Twenty replicate analyses of a serum containing phenobarbital and diphenylhydantoin gave results with a CV of 6.8% and 9.1%, respectively. Results attained in a large series of patients were compared with results by a gas/liquid chromatographic procedure. For phenobarbital r = 0.97, and for diphenylhydantoin r = 0.98. No false negatives or false positives were encountered.

We present a high-quality sky segmentation model for depth refinement and investigate residual architecture performance to inform optimally shrinking the network. We describe a model that runs in near real-time on mobile device, present a new, highquality dataset, and detail a unique weighing to trade off false positives and false negatives in binary classifiers. We show how the optimizations improve bokeh rendering by correcting stereo depth misprediction in sky regions. We detail techniques used to preserve edges, reject false positives, and ensure generalization to the diversity of sky scenes. Finally, we present a compact model and compare performance of four popular residual architectures (ShuffleNet, MobileNetV2, Resnet-101, and Resnet-34-like) at constant computational cost.

A brief introduction to acronyms is given and motivation for extracting them in a digital library environment is discussed. A technique for extracting acronyms is given with an analysis of the results. The technique is found to have a low number of false negatives and a high number of false positives. Introduction Digital library research seeks to build tools to enable access of content, while making as few as possible assumptions about the content, since assumptions limit the range of applicability of the tools. Generally, the broader the assumptions the more widely applicable the tools. For example, keyword based indexing [5] is based on communications theory and applies to all natural human textual languages (allowances for differences in character sets and similar localisation issues not withstanding) . Recent study was conducted to develop a simple UV spectrophotometric method to determine Phenytoin in bulk and injection form according to official requirement and validate as per ICH guidelines. λmax of Phenytoin was found 202 nm. Linearity existed perceived in the concentration assortment 2-8 μg/ml (r2 = 0.999) for the method. The method was validated pertaining to linearity, precision and accuracy studies, LOD and LOQ consistent with ICH guidelines. The existent method was establish to be simple, linear, precise, accurate as well as sensitive and can be applied for routine quality control enquiry for the analysis of Phenytoin in bulk and injection form.

Background: Zishen Tongguan (ZSTG) capsules were prepared at the Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine and have been proven to be clinically effective for treating pyelonephritis and benign prostatic hyperplasia. However, the quality standards are not ideal; a comprehensive study of the “quality markers” (Q-markers), the chemicals inherent in traditional Chinese medicine and its preparations, has not been carried out. Experimental Methods: In this paper, a sensitive and specific ultra-high-performance liquid chromatographictandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS) method was developed for the simultaneous determination of eight potential Q-markers of ZSTG, including timosaponin A3, berberine, jatrorrhizine, phellodendrine, palmatine, mangiferin, neomangiferin, and timosaponin BII. A Kromasil 100-3.5 C18 column was used with a mobile phase of 0.2% formic acid with acetonitrile, and gradient elution at a flow rate of 0.2 mL/min was achieved in 13 minutes and used for separation. Detection was performed in positive/negative mode with multiple reaction monitoring (MRM). Results: The analytical method was validated in terms of the sensitivity, linearity, accuracy, precision, repeatability, stability and recovery. The method established here was successfully applied to study the potential Q-markers in 8 batches of commercial samples, which demonstrated its use in improving the quality control of ZSTG. Conclusion: The developed method had high repeatability and accuracy and was suitable for the simultaneous analysis of multiple Q-markers, which may provide a new basis for the comprehensive assessment and overall quality control of ZSTG.
