Доказывается, что система дифференциальных уравнений, правые части которой представляют собой полиномы второй степени, не имеет предельных циклов, если в ограниченной части фазовой плоскости она имеет только два состояния равновесия и при этом они являются состояниями равновесия второй группы. It is proved that a system of differential equations, the right-hand sides of which are second-order polynomials, has no limit cycles if it has only two equilibrium states in the bounded part of the phase plane, and they are the equilibrium states of the second group.

This paper is a further development of the kinematic problem presented in our 1967 paper [1] in which we have obtained the transmission functions for different orders of plane systems with many degrees of freedom. This paper establishes the corresponding system of differential equations of motion beginning with these functions. The purpose of this paper is to facilitate computer programming. Our study is based on the work of R. Beyer [2, 3] and is the first original addition to his papers. A second original contribution to Beyer’s theories is the deductive method of solution, from general to particular, which we have, incorporated in our work. Beyer concluded that the cases having two or three degrees of freedom can be considered as particular solutions to the results obtained.

One of the tasks to be solved when deploying fire extinguishing systems is to determine the range of the fire extinguishing agent supply to the combustion center. This problem is solved using data on the trajectory of the fire-extinguishing agent in the combustion center. The presence of wind impact on the process of supplying a fire extinguishing agent will lead to a change in its trajectory. To take into account wind impact, it becomes necessary to assess the result of such impact. Using the basic equation of dynamics for specific forces, a system of differential equations is obtained that describes the delivery of a fire extinguishing agent to the combustion center. The system of differential equations takes into account the presence of wind impact on the movement of the extinguishing agent. The presence of wind action is taken into account by the initial conditions. To solve such a system, the integral Laplace transform was used in combination with the method of undefined coefficients. The solution is presented in parametric form, the parameter of which is time. For a particular case, an expression is obtained that describes the trajectory of the supply of the extinguishing agent into the combustion center. Nomograms are constructed, with the help of which the operative determination of the estimate of the maximum range of the fire-extinguishing agent supply is provided. Estimates are obtained for the time of delivery of a fire-extinguishing agent to the combustion center, and it is shown that for the characteristic parameters of its delivery, this value does not exceed 0.5 s. The influence of wind action on the range of supply of a fire extinguishing agent is presented in the form of an additive component, which includes the value of the wind speed and the square of the time of its delivery. To assess the effect of wind impact on the movement of the fire extinguishing agent, an analytical expression for the relative error was obtained and it was shown that the most severe conditions for supplying the fire extinguishing agent to the combustion center, the value of this error does not exceed 5.5%. Taking into account the wind effect when assessing the range of supply of a fire-extinguishing agent makes it possible to increase the efficiency of fire-extinguishing systems due to its more accurate delivery to the combustion center

(M,k)-methods for solving stiff problems, in which on each step two times the right-hand side of the system of differential equations is calculated are investigated. It is shown that the maximum order of accuracy of the L-stable (m,2)-method is equal to four. (4,2)-method of maximal order is built.

We consider a generalized version of the classical Lotka Volterra model with differential equations. The version has a variable structure (discontinuous right hand side) and the solutions are subjected to the discrete impulsive effects. The moments of right hand side discontinuity and the moments of impulsive effects coincide and they are specific for each solution. Using the Brouwer fixed point theorem, sufficient conditions for the existence of periodic solution are found.

The dependence of partial photochemical quantum yields on temperature and light intensity was examined with two dihydroindolizines. Some nonlinear optimization procedures and least squares methods are used to solve the system of differential equations. The distinct influence of the competitive thermal reaction can be demonstrated for both photochromic systems by determination of thermodynamic and kinetic parameters.

This paper considers an autonomous nonlinear system of differential equations derived in [Leipnik, 1979]. A criterion for the existence of closed orbits in similar systems is presented. Numerical results are made rigorous by the use of interval analytic techniques in establishing the existence of a periodic solution which is not asymptotically stable. The limitations of the method of locating orbits are considered when a promising candidate for a closed orbit is shown not to intersect itself.
