Curtobacterium flaccumfaciens pv. flaccumfaciens is the causal agent of bacterial wilt of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris), a disease that can reduce yields of this economically important crop worldwide. Current genomics resources for this bacterial pathogen are limited. Therefore, long-read sequencing was used to determine the complete genome sequence of a pathogenic C. flaccumfaciens pv. flaccumfaciens strain isolated from common bean leaves showing irregular necrotic lesions with yellow borders collected in a commercial field in Turkey in 2015.

Pseudomonas amygdali pv. tabaci strain 6605 is the bacterial pathogen causing tobacco wildfire disease that has been used as a model for elucidating virulence mechanisms. Here, we present the complete genome sequence of P. amygdali pv. tabaci 6605 as a circular chromosome from reads using a PacBio sequencer.

ABSTRACT Nocardia wallacei is one of the members of the N. transvalensis complex which possess a highly unique susceptibility pattern. Here, we describe the closed complete genome sequence of the multidrug-resistant strain N. wallacei FMUON74, which was obtained using a hybrid approach combining Nanopore long-read sequencing and Illumina and DNBseq short-read sequencing.

Porcisia hertigi is a parasitic kinetoplastid first isolated from porcupines ( Coendou rothschildi ) in central Panama in 1965. We present the complete genome sequence of P. hertigi , isolate C119, strain LV43, sequenced using combined short- and long-read technologies. This complete genome sequence will contribute to our knowledge of the parasitic genus Porcisia .

We report here the near-complete genome sequence of “Candidatus Spirobacillus cienkowskii,” a spiral-shaped, red-pigmented uncultivated bacterial pathogen of Daphnia spp. The genome is 2.74 Mbp in size, has a GC content of 32.1%, and contains genes associated with bacterial motility and the production of carotenoids, which could explain the distinctive red color of hosts infected with this pathogen.

Rubrobacter xylanophilus strain AA3-22, belonging to the phylum Actinobacteria, was isolated from nonvolcanic Arima Onsen (hot spring) in Japan. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of this organism, which was obtained by combining Oxford Nanopore long-read and Illumina short-read sequencing data.

ABSTRACT Ichthyobacterium seriolicida is a fish bacterial pathogen that causes hemolytic jaundice in farmed yellowtail in Japan. To understand more about the characteristics of this bacterium, we determined its complete genome sequence. Two hemolysin genes which may be important for its pathogenicity were identified in the I. seriolicida genome.
