The title salt, (C5H6ClN2)2[CoCl4], was synthesized by slow evaporation of an aqueous solution at room temperature. The asymmetric unit consists of two essentially planar (C5H6ClN2)+cations [maximum deviations = 0.010 (3) and 0.014 (3) Å] that are nearly perpendicular to each other [dihedral angle = 84.12 (7)°]. They are bonded through N—H...Cl hydrogen bonds to distorted [CoCl4]2−tetrahedra, leading to the formation of undulating layers parallel to (100). The structure is isotypic with the Zn analogue [Kefiet. al(2011).Acta Cryst.E67, m355–m356.]

The title compound bis(1,4-diazoniabicyclo[2.2.2]octane) di-μ-chlorido-bis[tetrachloridobismuthate(III)] dihydrate, (C6H14N2)2[Bi2Cl10]·2H2O, was obtained by slow evaporation at room temperature of a hydrochloric aqueous solution (pH = 1) containing bismuth(III) nitrate and 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (DABCO) in a 1:2 molar ratio. The structure displays a two-dimensional arrangement parallel to (100) of isolated [Bi2Cl10]4−bioctahedra (site symmetry -1) separated by layers of organic 1,4-diazoniabicyclo[2.2.2]octane dications [(DABCOH2)2+] and water molecules. O—H...Cl, N—H...O and N—H...Cl hydrogen bonds lead to additional cohesion of the structure.

The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Pd(C15H13FNO)2], contains one half of the molecule with the PdIIcation lying on an inversion centre and is coordinated by the bidentate Schiff base anion. The geometry around the cationic PdIIcentre is distorted square planar, chelated by the imine N- and phenolate O-donor atoms of the two Schiff base ligands. The N- and O-donor atoms of the two ligands are mutuallytrans, with Pd—N and Pd—O bond lengths of 2.028 (2) and 1.9770 (18) Å, respectively. The fluorophenyl ring is tilted away from the coordination plane and makes a dihedral angle of 66.2 (2)° with the phenolate ring. In the crystal, molecules are linked into chains along the [101] direction by weak C—H...O hydrogen bonds. Weak π–π interactions with centroid–centroid distances of 4.079 (2) Å stack the molecules alongc.

We report here the crystal structure of a ten-coordinate lanthanum(III) metal coordinated by five bidentate ethylenediamine ligands, [La(C2H8N2)5]Cl3·C2H8N2·CH2Cl2. One free ethylenediamine molecule and three Cl−anions are also located in the asymmetric unit. The overall structure is held together by an extensive hydrogen-bonding network between the Cl−anions and the NH groups on the metal-bound ethylenediamine ligands. The free ethylenediamine molecule is held in an ordered position by additional hydrogen bonds involving both the chlorides and –NH groups on the metal-bound ligands. One highly disordered molecule of dichloromethane is located on an inversion center; however, all attempts to model this disorder were unsuccessful. The electron density in this space was removed using the BYPASS procedure [van der Sluis & Spek (1990).Acta Cryst.A46, 194–201].

In an attempt to grow 8-hydroxyquinoline–acetaminophen co-crystals from equimolar amounts of conformers in a chloroform–ethanol solvent mixture at room temperature, the title compound, C9H7NO, was obtained. The molecule is planar, with the hydroxy H atom forming an intramolecular O—H...N hydrogen bond. In the crystal, molecules form centrosymmetric dimersviatwo O—H...N hydrogen bonds. Thus, the hydroxy H atoms are involved in bifurcated O—H...N hydrogen bonds, leading to the formation of a central planar four-membered N2H2ring. The dimers are bound by intermolecular π–π stacking [the shortest C...C distance is 3.2997 (17) Å] and C—H...π interactions into a three-dimensional framework. The crystal grown represents a new monoclinic polymorph in the space groupP21/n. The molecular structure of the present monoclinic polymorph is very similar to that of the orthorhombic polymorph (space groupFdd2) studied previously [Roychowdhuryet al.(1978).Acta Cryst.B34, 1047–1048; Banerjee & Saha (1986).Acta Cryst.C42, 1408–1411]. The structures of the two polymorphs are distinguished by the different geometries of the hydrogen-bonded dimers, which in the crystal of the orthorhombic polymorph possess twofold axis symmetry, with the central N2H2ring adopting a butterfly conformation.

The asymmetric unit of the title salt C8H22N42+·2C7H5O2−, comprises two independent pairs of half a 2,2′-(piperazine-1,4-diyl)diethanaminium dication plus a benzoate anion. The dications are symmetrical and lie across crystallographic centres of inversion. The crystal structure was refined as a two-component pseudo-merohedral twin using the twin law 001 0-10 100 [he domain fractions are 0.8645 (8) and 0.1355 (8)]. The anions and cations are linked by N—H...O hydrogen bonds and weak N—H...O intermolecular interactions to form infinite two-dimensional networks parallel to [101]. The conformation adopted by the cation in the crystal structure is very similar to that adopted by the same cation in the structures of the 2-hydroxybenzoate [Cukrowskiet al.(2012).Acta Cryst, E68, o2387], the nitrate and the tetrahydrogen pentaborate salts.

There are two molecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C9H10N2OS. In one, the dihedral angle between the aromatic ring and the carbamothioyl group is 52.31 (7)° and in the other it is 36.16 (6)°. Each molecule features an intramolecular N—H...O hydrogen bond, which generates anS(6) ring and the O and S atoms have anantidisposition. In the crystal, molecules are linked by N—H...S and N—H...O hydrogen bonds, generating separate [130] and [1-30] infinite chains. Weak C—H...O and C—H...S interactions are also observed.

In the title compound, C15H20BrNO2, there are two independent molecules (AandB) comprising the asymmetric unit and these adopt very similar conformations. InA, the dihedral angle between the CO2and MeC=CMe2groups is 80.7 (3)°, and these make dihedral angles of 3.5 (3) and 84.09 (16)°, respectively, with the bromobenzene ring. The equivalent dihedral angles for moleculeBare 78.4 (3), 2.1 (3) and 78.37 (12)°, respectively. The most prominent interactions in the crystal packing are amine-N—H...O(carbonyl) hydrogen bonds between the two independent molecules, resulting in non-centrosymmetric ten-membered {...OC2NH}2synthons. Statistical disorder is noted for each of the terminal methyl groups of the ethyl residues.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C8H6N8·2H2O, contains one half-molecule, with the benzene ring on a centre of symmetry, and two uncoordinated water molecules. The benzene ring is oriented at a dihedral angle of 34.43 (12)° with respect to the tetrazole ring. Strong O—H...N hydrogen bonds link the water molecules to the N atoms of the tetrazole ring. In the crystal structure, strong intermolecular O—H...O and O—H...N hydrogen bonds link the molecules into a network. One of the water H atoms is disordered over two positions and was refined with occupancies of 0.50.

The title compound, C34H38O8(systematic name: 5,5′-diisopropyl-2,2′,3,3′-tetramethoxy-7,7′-dimethyl-2H,2′H-8,8′-bi[naphtho[1,8-bc]furan]-4,4′-diol), has been obtained from a gossypol solution in a mixture of dimethyl sulfate and methanol. The molecule is situated on a twofold rotation axis, so the asymmetric unit contains one half-molecule. In the molecule, the hydroxy groups are involved in intramolecular O—H...O hydrogen bonds, and the two naphthyl fragments are inclined each to other by 83.8 (1)°. In the crystal, weak C—H...O and C—H...π interactions consolidate the packing, which exhibits channels with an approximate diameter of 6 Å extending along thec-axis direction. These channels are filled with highly disordered solvent molecules, so their estimated scattering contribution was subtracted from the observed diffraction data using the SQUEEZE option inPLATON[Spek, A. L. (2015).Acta Cryst. C71, 9–18].
