MOOCs are student-friendly, a great addition to the field of distance education as it no longer needs pre requisites for enrollment in a course, have no age bar, and have no heavy financial constraints (while some charge a minimum amount for award of certification and other requirements). Various institutions across the world compile video lectures, formulate assignments, quizzes, lecture notes, presentations, demonstrations, etc. and upload all the content on MOOC platform accessible globally through the world wide web. The opportunity that MOOCs offer for the massification of courses has generated significant interest from governments, institutions, and commercial organizations. In this context, the article focuses on the various MOOCs initiatives like SWAYAM in India and gain a deeper insight in the course diversity, content types and formats provided. Besides, the study shall make an endeavor to understand the innovations and future plans of major promoters of MOOCs in India.

<P>Islamic, Hindu, Buddhist, Baha'i, Jewish, and Christian organizations are all experimenting with distance education for various reasons and to different extents, due to religious, economic, and political factors. Religious institutions worldwide are not only turning to the World Wide Web (WWW) to place information concerning religious beliefs and provide virtual services for their constituents but are also getting more involved in formally educating their members at a distance. The paper describes a distance education course which uses ICT in a number of ways. In the first place the World Wide Web provides for part of the content. Next, the course is as far as possible available in a hyperstructure in electronic form. Finally, most of the necessary communication (for example between the students and between the students and their teacher) is supported by ICT. The paper describes extensively experiences with this course.

The article provides an overview of the activities of the European Union Forum on kids' safety in Internet — Safer Internet Forum (SIF) 2019, which was held in Brussels, Belgium, in November 2019. The current Internet risks addressed by the World Wide Web users, especially children, are described.
