An overhead power line is a structure used in the electric power system to transmit electrical energy. The performance of overhead power lines depends on their parameters. There are four basic electrical parameters of power lines: resistance, inductance, capacitance, and shut conductance. The paper focuses on the calculation of the series impedance of overhead lines (resistance and inductance) by three different methods (Carsonʹs method, Rüdenbergʹs method and the theory of complex penetration depth) considering the impact of the ground return path. There is also the comparison of these methods and their application on models of real power lines of different voltage levels provided in this paper.

The article describes the results of comprehensive study aiming at increase of quality of LED luminaires and definition of the nature of changes in their correlated colour temperature (CCT) in the course of operation. Dependences of CCT of LED luminaires with remote and close location of phosphor for 10 thousand hours of operation in different electric modes were obtained; the results of comparison between the initial and final radiation spectra of the luminaires are presented; using mathematical statistics methods, variation of luminaire CCT over the service period claimed by the manufacturer is forecast; the least favourable electric operation modes with the highest CCT variation observed are defined. The obtained results have confirmed availability of the problem of variation of CCT of LED luminaires during their operation. Possible way of its resolution is application of more qualitative and therefore expensive LEDs with close proximity of phosphor or LEDs with remote phosphor. The article may be interesting both for manufacturers and consumers of LED light sources and lighting devices using them.

The choice of optimum cross section for overhead line by economic intervals' methodIn this paper an approach to choosing the optimum cross section for overhead line in conditions of incomplete and uncertain information is considered. The two methods of such choice are presented: method of economic current density and economic intervals' method. The correction of the economic intervals method is offered under market conditions of costs. As example 20 kV and 110 kV overhead lines with aluminum, copper and ferroaluminum wires are selected. Universal nomograms with different standard cross section are calculated and constructed. The graphics using Mathcad software are offered.
