As the new direction of education reform in the internet era, the SPOC-based blended teaching mode has become increasingly popular in universities, because it can enrich teaching content, diversify learning path, enhance interaction between teachers and learners, and most importantly improve students’ learning enthusiasm and effectiveness. However, due to the lack of substantial knowledge and strategies on SPOC-based teaching concept as well as computer technology, many English teachers cannot conduct SPOC-based blended teaching mode well in their classes even though they have the intention to do it well. Therefore, taking business English reading course as a case study, this paper explores some effective strategies on how to apply SPOC-based blended teaching in English courses, so as to provide useful enlightenment for foreign language teachers in universities and colleges to better conduct blended teaching in their classes in the future.

With the advent of the information age, the way people obtain information has changed profoundly. The wave of informationization in higher education has also come with it, and the teaching mode, teaching content, and teaching form are constantly innovated. How to organically integrate information technology into education teaching in order to care for learners’ learning experience and promote the cultivation of new talents is an issue that current educational technology researchers need to pay great attention to. This paper first builds a complete blended teaching model of public English for higher education, but its application effect needs to be further examined. This paper is an investigation in the background of the current era to build a blended teaching model. Based on the continuous development of the era, the ideology and application technology of this field will keep upgrading, so the teaching model also needs to be changed and updated according to the characteristics of the development of the era. The investigation of mixed teaching modes is not permanent. The investigation of the mixed teaching mode is not permanent. At present, only a few courses apply the blended teaching mode. On the basis of the continuous updating of teaching concepts and the latest technologies, it is foreseen that the focus of subsequent investigations will be on the individualized development of the blended teaching mode.

Based on big data, business English teaching mode is a reform of traditional teaching mode. It comprehensively records the teaching process through real-time data sharing. This paper discusses the application of "big data" in business English teaching design, teaching content, teaching methods and teaching evaluation. It is proposed that business English teaching mode under the background of big data can fully mobilize autonomy and creativity, which is conducive to deepening classroom teaching reform, carrying out all-round independent learning, strengthening daily teaching management, optimizing talent training mode and promoting educational informatization reform.

With the advent of the Internet age, network information technology is rapidly entering college English classes, which fundamentally changes the mode of college English teaching.
