Tetraphenylmethane has emerged as a recurrent building block for advanced porous materials such as COFs, PAFs and hypercrosslinked polymers. Guided by a similar design principle, we have previously synthesized shape-persistent dendrimers with tetraphenylmethane nodes and ethynylene linkers. Here we report the generality of our approach by describing new dendritic architectures built from tetraphenylmethane. First, we prepared expanded dendrimers where the tetrahedral units are bonded through larger rigid rod spacers. Among the different synthetic strategies tested, the convergent route, with alternating steps of Pd-catalyzed Sonogashira coupling and alkyne activation by removal of TMS masking groups, efficiently afforded the first- and second-generation dendrimers. A second type of compounds having a linear diyne at the core is also described. The dendrimers of generations 1-2 were also synthesized by a convergent approach, with the diyne being assembled in the last step of the synthesis by a Glaser oxidative homocoupling of the corresponding dendrons bearing a terminal alkyne at the focal point. A third-generation dendrimer was also successfully prepared by a double-phase strategy.<br>

ABSTRACTCostume, dress code, animation, comics, legends, and manga, are inseparable parts of the cosplay costume. Those parts give fantasy and digital world discourse through costume style. Its spiritual domain stands on Japanese culture by being cultured through clothing. One of them, cosplay ideo- logy, reflects the self-imaging through social communities, as an e?ort for group and self-existence. Cosplay entity bridges fantasy and real world, presents designers’ expressions through the costume designs to show. This writing will be analyzed by using the main theories based on Dewitt H. Parker point of view, in The Principles of Aesthetics, which divides principles of aesthetics into three, they are: Principle of Organic Unity, Principle of Dominant Element, and Principle of Balance. Principle of organic unity indicates that cosplay clothing is an accumulation of design elements, to refer and mark a figure. Principle of dominant element, is accentuation, or the center of interest of a cosplay clothing design. We present novel data-processing inequalities relating the mutual information and the directed information in systems with feedback. The internal deterministic blocks within such systems are restricted only to be causal mappings, but are allowed to be non-linear and time varying, and randomized by their own external random input, can yield any stochastic mapping. These randomized blocks can for example represent source encoders, decoders, or even communication channels. Moreover, the involved signals can be arbitrarily distributed. Our first main result relates mutual and directed information and can be interpreted as a law of conservation of information flow. Our second main result is a pair of data-processing inequalities (one the conditional version of the other) between nested pairs of random sequences entirely within the closed loop. Our third main result introduces and characterizes the notion of in-the-loop (ITL) transmission rate for channel coding scenarios in which the messages are internal to the loop. Interestingly, in this case the conventional notions of transmission rate associated with the entropy of the messages and of channel capacity based on maximizing the mutual information between the messages and the output turn out to be inadequate. Instead, as we show, the ITL transmission rate is the unique notion of rate for which a channel code attains zero error probability if and only if such an ITL rate does not exceed the corresponding directed information rate from messages to decoded messages. We apply our data-processing inequalities to show that the supremum of achievable (in the usual channel coding sense) ITL transmission rates is upper bounded by the supremum of the directed information rate across the communication channel. Moreover, we present an example in which this upper bound is attained. Finally, we further illustrate the applicability of our results by discussing how they make possible the generalization of two fundamental inequalities known in networked control literature.

AbstractBased on the transformation acoustics methodology, the design principle for achieving an arbitrary shape magnifying lens (ASML) is proposed. Contrary to the previous works, the presented ASML is competent of realizing far-field high resolution images and breaking the diffraction limit, regardless of the position of the utilized sources. Therefore, objects locating within the designed ASML can be properly resolved in the far-field region. It is shown that the obtained material through the theoretical investigations becomes an acoustic null medium (ANM), which has recently gained a significant attention. Besides the homogeneity of ANM, which makes it an implementable material, it is also independent of the perturbation in the geometry of the lens, in such a way that the same ANM can be used for different structural topologies. The obtained ANM has been implemented via acoustics unit cells formed by membranes and side branches with open ends and then was utilized to realize an ASML with the aid of effective medium theory. It is shown that the far-field results of an ideal ASML abide well with the results of the implemented sample, validating the proposed design principle. The presented acoustic magnifying lens has a wide spectrum of possible applications ranging from medical imaging, and biomedical sensors to focused ultrasound surgery.

The COVID-19 crisis has drawn broader public interest in how companies treat their workers, so going forward, people management would be of an increasing concern. As we make a transition from a service-based economy to experience economy, where time well saved takes a back seat to time well spent, the notion of employee experience (EX) is set to become a fundamental workplace design principle. EX is about the work, not the office. EX aims for a complete redesign of the workplace practices and environment to fit the employees and not the other way around. This article examines and verifies EX scale as one-dimensional as well as multidimensional constructs with six dimensions, namely cohesiveness, vigour, well-being, achievement, inclusiveness and physical environment. Six dimensions were explored with focus group and open-ended survey and validated with closed-ended survey of 299 employees working in multinational corporations across India. Structural equation modelling is used to validate the proposed latest construct. Establishing the EX scale would help researchers as well practitioners in empirically measuring EX and its relationship with various individuals as well organizational constructs.
