Hajj guidance group (KBIH) in Indonesia, still limited to quantity and have been not yet met the quality. One indication of the lack of quality of the KBIH is the quality management of inputs, namely the applied inputs and inputs of expectation. With good input and good, it can produce an out put that as expected. This study aims to determine the quality management of pilgrimage inputs by KBIH in Indonesia, represented by three regions, West Java, DKI Jakarta and South Sumatra. The method used in this research is case study with qualitative approach. This study shows that quality management for one dimension of input, especially in KBIH has not met the quality management standard. Implementation and embodiment is still limited to ideas, wishful thinking, and not conceptualized well. The results of this study have an impact on how the quality management of KBIH input in Indonesia should be implemented, so that with good input in KBIH, KBIH can improve the quality of Hajj in Indonesia. Input is a starting point in a quality assurance process, not to be ignored, underestimated, and considered not one of the important parts of quality management of its existence.

Quality assurance has been recognized as being important in higher education; however, there are numerous reports that it is challenging to engage faculty members in quality assurance processes in a meaningful way. A frequently cited reason for faculty members’ resistance is that they find the process to be authoritarian and non-collegial. This paper presents a case study which shows that changing the tone of the language used to communicate with academics about the institutional quality assurance process—from a bureaucratic and authoritative tone to a more collegial one—can serve as a countertactic to help mitigate the resistance of faculty members to this process. Using corpus-based techniques, we investigate the language used in documents to communicate with faculty members about quality assurance. We then demonstrate that, following a linguistic revision to introduce a more collegial tone to these communications, faculty members appear to be more willing to engage in the quality assurance process in a meaningful way.

In this paper, we present an evaluation of Scrum's impacts over the software quality assurance process in the embedded aerospace software domain. We present basic concepts of the DO-178C and Scrum, then we assess related work and introduce the case study used as reference for our study, as well as the perceived results of using Scrum in both the development teams and in quality assurance. Finally, we summarize good practices for using Scrum in software quality assurance teams.

Abstract: Tahun 2020, instrument akreditasi sekolah/madrasah mulai menggunakan Instrumen Akreditasi Satuan Pendidikan 2020 (IASP 2020). Keywords: mutu lulusan; akreditasi; IASP 20203; Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan. Abstrak: In 2020, the school accreditation instrument began to use the 2020 Education Unit Accreditation Instrument (IASP 2020). In the context of the 2020 IASP, the component of graduate quality is the component that has the highest value weight compared to other components. This study aims to explore the process of quality assurance for accreditation-based graduates in Vocational High Schools using the IASP 2020. This study uses a case study research method. Participants in this study were determined by purposive sampling method, with the criteria: all SMK citizens who have undergone a graduate quality assurance process using IASP 2020. The number of participants in this study was 16 teachers and employees. The results showed that the accreditation-based graduate quality assurance process was carried out through the following programs: 1) Preparation: understanding IASP 2020, forming a graduate quality assurance team; 2) Conducting the 2020 IASP-based graduate quality EDS; 3) Gap analysis between EDS results and ideal conditions; 4) Fulfilling the gap through improving the performance of the graduate quality component; 5) Evaluation of the program for the achievement of the quality performance of graduates and the follow-up. Keywords: graduated qualities; accreditation; IASP 2020; Vocational Senior High School.

In-service training is an integral part of an educational system as teachers always need to update their educational and professional knowledge for a more effective teaching delivery. Ensuring the effectiveness of the in-service training programmes is, however, very challenging. In this article, we introduce the use of the CIPO model, i.e., Context-Input-Process-Output, for in-service training management. We extend the classical CIPO model by integrating into it a quality assurance process. We conduct a case study in Vietnam over a sample of 163 teachers and develop an IT training course to demonstrate how the new model can be used in teacher training management. Finally, we discuss about the lessons learned and recommendations.

Ports in the transport economy have an important role to play in the competitiveness of ports. There is an increasing climate of competition, which causes ports to invest in development and to improve their transport corridors, governance principles and pricing policies in order to strengthen international competitiveness of ports and to ensure that their management practices are in line with the positive international experience. In order to increase the efficiency of transport, to promote the use of environmentally friendly technologies and to improve the international competitiveness of port transport corridors, it is important for ports to determine their own KPI indicators that would be used to assess port performance indicators. As ports are responsible for the quality assurance of port services, even if they do not provide such services, monitoring and assessing of the KPI must be part of the quality assurance process. The objective of this study is to define the port performance-enhancing KPI indexes and to make suggestions for how KPI application in the transport economy can strengthen the international competitiveness of ports and ensure that their management practises international experience. The study’s tasks are to define the appropriate KPI indexes, group them according to interlinked principles, and provide proposals on how to use them to improve the international competitiveness of ports and the main transport system multimodal integration.

Abstract The 2011 Census for England and Wales made extensive use of administrative data to quality assure the estimates. This included record linkage between census and administrative data. This article describes the role of record linkage in the quality-assurance process. It outlines the operational challenges that we faced and how we resolved them. Record linkage was confined to a sample within 58 carefully selected local authorities. We found characteristic patterns of under- and overcoverage in the National Health Service Patient Register, which we illustrate here with examples. Our findings may be useful in countries that, like England and Wales, do not have a comprehensive population register to draw on and that need to understand issues of coverage in their routinely collected administrative data and the use of these data to estimate populations.
