In this paper, we study the propagation of the electromagnetic field of an ultrashort laser pulse in a Kondo topological insulator. We analyze some specific peculiarities observed when varying the initial amplitude and velocity of the electromagnetic pulse, as well as the hybridization matrix. We find that the hybridization parameter — quantifying the strength of the interaction between electrons of different shells — has a very particular influence on the ultrashort pulse propagation, and provides a means to control the amplitude of the main pulse, as well as the “tail” in its wake.
