PurposeSupply chain integration (SCI) and flexibility (SCF) are recognised as crucial business practices and capability in the global competitive market. However, limited research has paid attention to study the relationship between SCI, SCF and their impact on supply chain performance (SCP). Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to establish a relationship between integration, flexibility and performance.Design/methodology/approachThe structural equation modelling technique was used to analyse the 187 data collected from Indian organisations through the survey methodology.FindingsFindings indicate that external integration contributes significantly to realise SCF and SCP. Sourcing and logistics flexibility also help to improve the SCP. The mediation analysis showed that the association of customer and supplier integration with SCP is partially and fully mediated by logistics flexibility, respectively. This study suggests that integration influences the SCP when the firm has a strong association with downstream partners and enough capability for logistics flexibility.Research limitations/implicationsThe study has collected cross-sectional data to analyse the relationship between SCI, SCF and SCP. However, as integration requires an effort of the years, longitudinal data and industry-specific studies may provide comprehensive views to validate the results of this study.Originality/valueBuilding on relational view theory and dynamic capability theory, the study has proposed the SCP assessment framework based on the relationship between SCI and SCF.

This study examined the relationship between supply integration and relationship stability and the relationship between relationship stability and performance; furthermore, the moderation effect of environmental uncertainty on supply chain integration and relationship stability was analyzed. The subjects are typical small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in developing countries that focus on niche markets to compete with large-scale manufacturers. Questionnaires were distributed to manufacturers to collect empirical data; in total, 566 valid samples were gathered. The results indicate that supply chain integration has positive effects on relational stability and that relational stability has positive effects on supply chain performance. Relational stability is a mediator between supply chain integration and supply chain performance. The contingency effects of environmental uncertainty on the relationships between internal integration and relational stability were determined in this research. This research framework extended past research on supply chain management; part of the research explored the relationship between supply chain integration and different measures of supply chain performance, as well as whether uncertainty affects supply chain integration and supply chain performance.

Purpose: Integrating network factors (i.e. Actors, Activities, and Resources), help organizations in achieving superior supply chain performance. Despite reasonable evidence on positive relationship between SCI and SCP, there exists sufficient contradiction on universal integration of chains. This paper is a qualitative exploratory study, which based on the network perspective intends to explore the current and required levels of supply chain integration among actors, activities, and resources in the agriculture supply chain of Pakistan. Design/Methodology/Approach: The data was collected through in depth semi-structured interviews from public sector stake holders of agriculture sector (i.e. From Thirteen wings of Ministry of Agriculture) across Pakistan. The current and required extent of supply chain integration was measured at three levels, i.e. strategic (long-term), tactical (medium-term) and operational (short-term) as suggested by (Childerhouse & Towill, 2011). Findings: The research results indicate that the relationship between supply chain integration and supply chain performance is a contextual phenomenon and significantly varies among Network factors. This study and its findings are expected to add into the literature of supply chain integration and its impact on supply chain performance.

Nowadays, in a dramatically changing marketplace, the integration of all of the resources in a supply chain has been regarded as an important issue for firms. However, in this complex network relationship, which links among firms, lots of uncertain factors could affect the performance of a supply chain. Thus, a structural fit model is needed to address the relationship between supply chain integration (SCI) and environmental uncertainty (EU). Empirical data for hypothesis testing are collected from top-ranked companies in Taiwan. The results show that fit specifically has a positive direct effect on supply chain performance.

Purpose: Majority of times, it is argued that firm could face difficulty to reconfigure its processes and capture opportunities within the marketplace, without even suspecting such opportunities earlier. Methodology: Market sensing shows the routines of organization which are associated with quick learning about competitors, customers, business environment, and SC members, enabling to understand market conditions for the purpose of forecasting. Results: This study is interested in examining the relationship between supply chain performance and firm performance in the presence of firm performance. To test the hypotheses we have used the SEM-AMOS statistical technique. The findings of the study have provided support to the theoretical foundation and proposed hypothesis of the current study. Current study will be helpful for policymakers and practitioners in understanding the issues related to supply chain risk, supply chain integration and supply chain performance. In the author's knowledge this is among very few pioneering studies on this issue.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore and advance on existing knowledge regarding supply chain integration (SCI) and absorptive capacity (AC). On the one hand, new elements, such as high-performance human resource practices (HPHRP) and internal integration (II) are proposed to foster AC within the supply chain. On the other hand, the study proposes a model and hypotheses to analyze the moderating effect of AC on the relationship between external SCI and supply chain performance. Design/methodology/approach Four hypotheses are formulated based on relevant literature. Data were collected from the horticultural marketing sector, using two different sources, a survey and archival data. A total of 99 responses were analyzed. Hierarchical multiple regressions were carried out to test the proposed hypotheses. Findings The results confirm that HPHRP are a crucial element when trying to increase the level of AC. In addition, the results show that AC has a moderating effect on the relationship between SCI and supply chain performance (both economic and financial). AC moderates the relationship between customer integration and economic performance. Originality/value This study examines the potential causes for the differences that exist in a firm’s ability to develop AC. Thus, on the one hand, HPHRP and II are proposed as triggers of AC, and on the other, AC is proposed as a moderator in the relationship between SCI and performance.

AbstractThe study investigates the relationship between the information and communication-enabled supply chain integration (SCI) and sustainable supply chain performance (SSCP). Moreover, to the best of our knowledge, there is no empirical evidence on the impact of blockchain technologies (BT) on the SSCP. Therefore, the primary aim of this study is to assess the relationship between BT and SSCP. More specifically, the study was conducted to examine the direct influence of BT on SCI and SSCP and the interactive effect of BT and SCI on SSCP. Based on the dynamic capability theoretical lens, the present study conceptualizes the use of BT as a specific IT resource to collaborate and reconfigure the ties with the upstream and downstream supply chain members to achieve SSCP. The results of the study support the hypothesis stating that BT positively influences the SSCP. The results recognize the role of SCI as a significant mediating variable between the BT and SSCP. The result indicates the strong influence of SCI with full mediation effect on the relationship between the BT and SSCP.

The ultimate objective of this cohesive relationship is to deliver value to customers and gets desired state of customer satisfaction & loyalty for the organization. For this purpose it is necessary to integrate the internal and external partners of Supply chain at different levels. The Purpose of the paper is to investigate the impact of supply chain integration on supply chain performance. The construct of Supply chain integration has been divided into three derivers that are information integration, coordination resource sharing and organizational relationship linkage. There are certain barriers to integration found in each industry that have moderating effects on the relationship b/w integration and organization performance.
