Biosensor is an analytical device that used to convert a biological response into an electrical signal. While, electroencephalogram (EEG) is a test that measures and records electrical signal from the brain through a metal electrode. Smart home controller using biosensor is a system that allows a communication of human brain and home appliances, microcontroller or computer. The main objective of this project is to design and implement a neuro based switching system control for power socket using biosensor and IoT data visualization, and to analyze system performance in terms of biosensor and IoT performance. To achieve the objective, EEG signal acquired by using a low cost EEG biosensor that is Neurosky Mindflex device. After that, EEG signal was analyzed and classified through Arduino (IDE) serial monitor. Next, classified signal was used to control a real-time home appliance by sending a command to NODEMCU ESP8266. A communication between Neurosky Mindflex device with microcontroller or computer are designed to turn on and off home appliances. Besides biosensor data visualization, home appliances usage can be observed through IoT platform i.e. ThingSpeak via the internet.

Purpose: Luria (1970) proposed the use of intersystemic reorganization to use an intact system to facilitate improvements in a damaged cognitive system. In this article, we review literature examining the effects of gesture as a modality to promote reorganization to improve verbal production in apraxia of speech and anomia. Methods: A gestural facilitation training paradigm is described and results of a recent systematic review of apraxia of speech treatment are reviewed. The interplay between apraxia of speech and anomia are considered in response to gestural facilitation training. Results & Conclusions: Gestural facilitation effects are strongest in individuals with moderate apraxia of speech. Several factors appear to mitigate the effects of gestural facilitation for verbal production, including severe apraxia of speech and semantic anomia. Severe limb apraxia, which often accompanies severe apraxia of speech, appears to be amenable to gestural treatment, providing improvements in gesture use for communication when verbal production gains are not evident.

Over 20 years ago, Watt and Hameroff (1987 ) suggested that consciousness may be described as a manifestation of deterministic chaos in the brain/mind. To analyze EEG-signal complexity, we used Higuchi’s fractal dimension in time domain and symbolic analysis methods. Our results of analysis of EEG-signals under anesthesia, during physiological sleep, and during epileptic seizures lead to a conclusion similar to that of Watt and Hameroff: Brain activity, measured by complexity of the EEG-signal, diminishes (becomes less chaotic) when consciousness is being “switched off”. So, consciousness may be described as a manifestation of deterministic chaos in the brain/mind.

This paper reviews basically about Bluetooth based home automation system. It is controlled by PIC microcontroller. Home automation can be defined as the ability to perform tasks automatically and monitor or change status remotely. These include tasks such as turning off lights in the room, locking doors via smartphone, automate air condition systems and appliances which help in the kitchen. Now a days several wireless devices are available such as Bluetooth, Zigbee and GSM. Since Bluetooth is low in cost than the other two and hence is used more. In this paper we have described the methods of automating different home appliances using Bluetooth and pic microcontroller. Different sensors are involved in this system to advance and make it smarter. Sensors such as temperature sensor, liquid sensors, humidity sensor etc. can be used.
