Arctium tomentosum Mill. (Asteraceae), from Ulaanbaatar in the Khentei phytogeographical region of Mongolia, is recognized here as a new genus and species of the flora of Mongolia. Arctium differs from other genera of Asteraceae by the hooked apex of the involucral bracts. While A. tomentosum is most similar to A. lappa, it is easily distinguished by the glandular hairs of the corolla limb and the widened inner involucral bracts. Taxonomic notes, a description of the morphology, detailed photos, habitat information, the phenology and a distribution map of A. tomentosum are provided.

Hamadiana chapadensis gen. n. and sp. n. is described based on a single male specimen collected in Central Brazil. The new species belongs to the diving beetle tribe Laccophilini but could not be assigned to any existing genera, therefore a new genus is described to accommodate it. Hamadiana gen. n. is unique among Laccophilini in having the hind margin of the metacoxal process deeply incised and medially slightly protruded backwards. In addition, it differs from other genera of the tribe by having the antennomeres simple, not expanded, the metacoxal lines not straight, and the metatibiae with two simple apical spurs. The habitus, male genitalia, and diagnostic features are illustrated, and a distribution map is provided. A recently published key to Laccophilini is modified to include the new genus.

This study was recorded a new genus and species of Iraq, Tephrosia nubica (Boiss.) Baker during the field trips in the Western Desert District, specifically in Al- Walaj valley, which cutting the Iraq- Jordan highway (75 km. West of Rutba) in winter and spring seasons of the year 2019. The species was identified depending on Flora of neighboring and nearby countries with a comprehensive morphological description as well as some drawing and photos for vegetative and floral (reproductive) parts with a distribution map of the species. Some plant samples of the species collected in the Iraqi national herbarium were deposited in numbers 60038,60039, and 60040, in addition to Anbar University herbarium in numbers 4329, 4330 and 4331 after confirming that there is no specimens of genus and species in all Iraqi herbaria.

A new genus with a new species of soft-winged flower beetle, Pectotibialis paghmanensis Tshernyshev gen. et sp. nov. are described from Afghanistan. The new genus can be distinguished from the congeners of the tribe Apalochrini by the dark pectination in the apices of tibiae in both sexes, and the anterior tibiae which are hollowed at distal half, flattened and rounded femora, bituberculate basal parts of head and pronotum, two lamellate metathoracic appendages, tarsal comb above second tarsomere of anterior legs, and serrate antennae in the male. Based on the metathoracic appendages and comb in anterior legs would attribute this new species to the new genus Dromanthomorphus Pic, 1921, but all the other above-mentioned characters define its independent status and the designation of a new genus; Pectotibialis Tshernyshev gen. nov. The external appearance, special male characters and genitalia of the type species of the new genus are illustrated, and a distribution map is provided. A key to the Apalochrus-section of the tribe Apalochrini is provided.

A new pseudoscorpion genus, Tenebriochernes n. gen., with the type species T. concavus n. sp. is described from two caves in northern Colombia, where it inhabits the dark zone of caves. Two additional new species T. mohani n. sp. and T. pilosus n. sp., are described from conserved dry forest areas and buffer zones. Sexual dimorphism of the pedipalps is evident, particularly in the length of appendages and the width of the hand. The new genus shows affinities with the genus Neoallochernes Hoff, 1947. A taxonomic key, distribution map and ecological comments are given.

Rayenia, a new monotypic genus assigned here to the Escalloniaceae, is provided with a description of the type species Rayenia malalcurensis, endemic to San Fabián de Alico, Ñuble Region, Central Chile. Molecular phylogenetics and morphological data support its placement in a new genus, separated from its sister taxon Tribeles australis. A detailed description, distribution map, insights about its ecology, conservation status and a key to the genera of Escalloniaceae in South America are given.

Upsa centennial Deschodt, Sole & Scholtz, new genus and species is described, celebrating a century of entomology at the University of Pretoria. This new genus in the dung beetle tribe Endroedyolini (Scarabaeidae: Scarabaeinae) occurs in the Albany Coastal Mistbelt forest in the Eastern Cape Province in South Africa. Various undescribed Cybaeina Chamberlin & Ivie (Araneae: Dictynoidea: Cybaeidae) and Cybaeina-like taxa are known from forested habitats in the west coast of North America. Most have very restricted ranges within the northern portion of the Californian Floristic Province, a well-known biodiversity hotspot. Here we describe Allocybaeina Bennett gen. nov. and its single included species, Allocybaeina littlewalteri Bennett spec. nov. This infrequently collected species is restricted to forested habitat in a small area of the coastal watersheds of southern Humboldt and western Mendocino Counties in northwestern California, U.S.A. In addition to descriptions we provide diagnoses, illustrations, a distribution map, and discuss conservation implications for this distinctive new genus and species.

Ninetines (Pholcidae: Ninetinae) are tiny spiders, largely restricted to arid habitats where they lead reclusive lives under objects close to the soil. They are rare in collections and poorly known in any respect. Only two genera were previously known from the Old World, the monotypic Mystes Bristowe from Malaysia, and Ninetis Simon, with four described species ranging from Yemen to Namibia. Here we describe a new genus from Egypt and Uzbekistan, represented by a single new species, Nita elsaff n. gen., n. sp. Based on ultrastructural data and cladistic analysis we hypothesize that this species is more closely related to some largely New World ninetines (Chisosa Huber from Baja California and Texas, Aucana Huber from Chile and New Caledonia) than to Ninetis. We also describe the first Ninetis species from Madagascar (N. toliara n. sp.), give new records for two previously known species, and present a distribution map for Ninetis.

AbstractNeothaumalea atlanticanew genus, new species (Diptera: Thaumaleidae), is described from the state of Santa Catarina in southern Brazil. This represents the first thaumaleid collected east of the Andes mountain range. The egg, larva, pupa, and both adults are described and illustrated, distribution map presented, and phylogenetic affinities discussed. A key to the genera of South America is also provided.
