In order to eliminate the human eyes’ subjective differences in the level recognition of the jet fuel’s silver corrosion, chromatic aberration system is used to calculate chromatic aberration between the image of the standard colorimetric board and the experiment silver corrosion. By contrast, this paper chooses the least chromatic aberration to estimate the level of silver corrosion. The CIEDE2000 of the color difference formula, which can match with person vision theoretically, is applied in the chromatic aberration system at present, and can reflect the minor differences in color correctly. so this paper attempts to use CIEDE2000 color formula to determine the silver strip corrosion, which can reduce the influence of professionals’ subjective factors, and these results are more objective and accurate, which proves the actual feasibility of this method.

The correlations between lightness and chroma, lightness difference and color difference, chroma difference and color difference were studied to evaluate the impact of lightness on color. Based on color difference formula CIE LAB in the uniform color space CIE L*a*b* it is learnt that H*ab of jadeite jade green colors has made little contribution to E*ab. Given the fact that human eyes are relatively sensitive to the color perception of lightness difference and that lightness and chroma affect each other, lightness of jadeites has been divided into two groups: while the lightness of green is relatively low (L*  19.52), lightness and chroma have positive linear correlation (correlation coefficient L*  C* = 0.971), which means the higher lightness the higher chroma and brings brighter green color; while L* > 19.52 , there is no one-to-one correspondence between lightness and chroma, and the highest chroma 77.64 can be reached when L* = 37.63. The high partial correlation coefficients L*ab  E*ab = 0.974 and C*ab  E*ab = 0.971 reveal that both L*ab and C*ab are not affected by the lightness of jadeite and are equally important to E*ab. It is concluded that the quality estimation of green color of Jadeite Jade should be primarily based on lightness which is the most intuitive factor and consistent with the color perception, and then followed by the evaluation of chroma and hue.

Five ISO 400 images were used as test images and a method of limits psychophysical experiment was designed to test color-difference threshold in printed images. The color appearance of each original image was modified by an exponential function for CIELAB lightness and chroma, an offset function for CIELAB hue at 20 steps for each attributes respectively. The modified images and their originals were paired to form the test image pairs. The mean color differences of image pairs, ranged from 0 to 4 CIELAB units, were calculated by CIELAB color-difference formula and nearly uniformly divided into 21 grades for each attributes. The test image pairs were assessed in a CPC-8n lighting booth. 12 normal color vision observers took part in the experiment. The experimental results showed that the mean color-differences threshold for lightness, chroma and hue attributes were 1.49, 1.53 and 0.78 CIELAB units showing the threshold for hue was apparently smaller than that of lightness and chroma, and the thresholds of different images were dependent on the image content or color distribution.

Contrast sensitivity measurement is widely used in clinical ophthalmology to evaluate visual function of the human eye, and of great significance for early diagnosis and identification of ophthalmic diseases. On the basis of contrast sensitivity definition, current measurement method was analyzed. By analyzing the existing principles and shortcomings of the human eye contrast sensitivity methods, a new method for generating observation targets of contrast sensitivity was proposed. By using double optical path design idea with integrating sphere and self-developed brightness adjustment systems, two beams of uniform light with specific luminance could be produced. With subsequent reuse of the optical path, accurate measurement of eye contrast sensitivity could be achieved, and calibration of contrast sensitivity tester widely used in clinical practice could be solved by developing assistant transfer tools. Moreover, output parameters of this method could be precisely adjusted according to the need as a result it ccould achieve real-time control and calibration. The research result has set the foundation for future establishment of visual threshold measuring device which is especially suitable for scientific and experimental research in clinical ophthalmology and metrology.
