Aim: A retrospective, cross-sectional study was carried out to evaluate the performance of resin composite restorations placed by undergraduate dental students with 1 to 15 years of placement based on dental records. Methods: Four calibrated operators evaluated 498 restorations (anterior and posterior) of 120 patients according to Ryge’s validated criteria (USPHS). Results: The criteria that showed the smallest changes between the types of failures were color matching, marginal discoloration and surface texture. Regarding the longevity, the surface texture showed an increase in the frequency of failures from the second time interval (3.1 to 6 years). Higher prevalence of failure was found in class II and III restorations, with secondary caries being the main reason. No significant differences were found for anatomic form, marginal adaptation, and color matching. Class V restorations showed a higher fracture rate with total displacement of the restoration, with no increase in the frequency of fracture over time. Conclusion: High rate of restoration failure was observed, possibly due to the lack of experience and skills of the students. This outcome highlight the need for continuous revision and improvements of teaching practice regarding the development of clinical competences and skills by dental students.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to offer useful information for improving women’s beauty self-images by analyzing personal color choices in women’s fashions and determining the correlation between color matching and personal fashion color choices in manicures and pedicures. Methods: The research subjects included 32 women aged 20–50 years who lived in capital area and whose personal color fashion choices were determined. The data were analyzed with frequency analysis, a χ2-test, and a one-way ANOVA using SPSS WIN 25.0.Results: Considering the personal color choices, they were high in “summer types” for L* values of skin, high in “winter types” for L* values of hands and feet, and high in “fall types” for values a* and b* of skin, hands, and feet. Also, with regard to matching tones for hands and feet, the personal color choices were mostly “spring types” with warm spring-type tones, summer types with cool summer-type tones, “fall types” with warm fall-type tones, and “winter types” with cool winter-type tones. Conclusion: The results of this study suggested the matched tones for hands and feet are similar to the personal color fashion choices. These findings support a theoretical basis for harmonious color matching when choosing colors in manicure and pedicure nail art. The findings of this study may assist with beauty styling and self-images of women in this fashion era.

The success and failure of color matching are directly related to work efficiency, sleep, personality and so on. Color matching course can not only cultivate students' creative thinking, but also improve their aesthetic ability and expression ability. This paper studies the teaching methods of art color design in Higher Education in the new era. Color matching course is an important part of the teaching and training of art design major, and it is also an essential basic skill for every environmental art student. Through the research on the meaning, types and characteristics of color, as well as the concept and category of color matching, combined with the experience and lessons in the teaching process, this paper demonstrates various teaching methods of indoor color design in practical teaching. The experimental research shows that the method proposed in this paper can improve the teaching efficiency of art color design.

Gamification can be one-approach children for playing while learning. Researchers proposed one gamification that using ondel-ondel; the giant Betawi dolls that famous, as Betawi icon that can be enjoyed in all Jakarta’s corners will be one of the media for children to learn how to color. Color Matching Ondel-Ondel is an offered coloring multimedia gamification, which inserted information on form elements of ondel-ondel’s attributes. This research used a merging method of gamification implementation in education and user-centered approach. To analyze the form elements of the ondel-ondel’s attribute, semiotic of William Morris had been used, that focus on form, content, context. Several children with positive responds have tried this gamification, they were not just excited and happy but also gave feedback to make this game more interesting and useful. It is expected to be more gamification using ondel-ondel as a main character and coloring gamification of other Betawi’s art and culture.

Color is the external manifestation of ethnic minority culture, and the costume of each ethnic group has its objective color matching rules. In the color design of minority costumes, there is often a lack of scientific evaluation methods. Aiming at this problem, this article proposed a comprehensive evaluation method, based on the K-Means clustering method, for evaluating color matching schemes of minority costumes. We used the K-Means clustering method to analyze the objective laws of minority costume colors, and based on the objective laws found, we extracted the objective evaluation indicators. With the AHP (analytic hierarchy process) method, the judgment matrix was established to obtain the relative weights of each cultural image and objective evaluation indicator. Based on the trapezoidal fuzzy number, the user’s evaluation value of the cultural image index was clarified. The GRA-TOPSIS evaluation method was introduced to rank the color matching schemes of minority costumes. Taking the evaluation of the color matching scheme of Yi costumes as an example, this article confirmed that the proposed comprehensive evaluation method can effectively screen out the color matching schemes with the characteristics of minority costumes and can rank the color schemes to be evaluated according to their relative similarity degree to the color characteristics of minority costumes. The method integrated subjective and objective evaluations, overcame the problem of contradictory results of subjective and objective evaluations, and achieved a certain degree of symmetry between the objectivity of the color laws of minority costumes and the subjectivity of the cultural image of minority costumes. In addition, we also found the possibility of using K-Means clustering to extract the main color features of minority costumes to improve the design of color schemes.

With the development of science and technology and social progress, people can reveal design information in different forms on a daily basis. The more common visual design information, the more important its development status. In visual communication design, the two most important factors are color and image. These two factors can play a great role and can attract the public’s attention. This article is based on AI technology to study the design of color matching and image application in visual media communication design, aiming to innovate the method of visual media communication design, breaking through the traditional color matching and image application, so as to better use color art in visual communication design and graphic art and design excellent works. First, this article elaborates on the concept, main components, and influencing factors of visual communication design and also introduces the application of AI technology, then designs a visual media communication design model based on AI technology, and finally analyzes the current status of visual media communication design, usage, and satisfaction. From the analytical analysis, it appears that the optical media interface is commonly used for packaging design, responding to 45.6%; it is used more in the film and television media industry, reaching 68%; 49% of the public are very satisfied with AI visual media communication design. The above data fully shows that the application of AI visual media communication design is very wide, and the color matching and image use are very prominent, and the public is willing to accept AI visual media communication design works.
