ABSTRACTWe report thede novoassembled 20.05-Mb draft genome of the red yeastRhodosporidium toruloidesMTCC 457, predicted to encode 5,993 proteins, 4 rRNAs, and 125 tRNAs. Proteins known to be unique to oleaginous fungi are present among the predicted proteins. The genome sequence will be valuable for molecular genetic analysis and manipulation of lipid accumulation in this yeast and for developing it as a potential host for biofuel production.

Symmetrospora coprosmae is a red yeast from the subphylum Pucciniomycotina in the phylum Basidiomycota. Here, we present the first genome sequence of S. coprosmae strain UCD350, from an isolate collected from soil in Ireland. The genome size is 20.2 Mb.

ABSTRACT We report a de novo-assembled draft genome sequence of the Indian Staphylococcus aureus sequence type 88 (ST88) strain LVP-7, isolated from an ocular infection. The genome harbors a Panton-Valentine leukocidin phage, a type V staphylococcal cassette chromosome mec element, the delta-hemolysin-converting Newman phage ΦNM3, and the pathogenicity island SaPI3, encoding the superantigen enterotoxin B.

The genome of New Zealand Mycoplasma ovipneumoniae isolate 90 was sequenced and assembled using an Illumina MiSeq system and combining the built-in Geneious de novo and Velvet de novo assemblers. The 1,031,345-bp-long genome harbored 711 genes with a coding percentage of 86.6.

ABSTRACT We report an improved de novo draft genome sequence of the human-pathogenic strain Nocardia terpenica IFM 0706T. The resequencing unveiled that the genome size is larger than anticipated, reducing significantly the number of contigs and building a basis for comparison with the closely related strain N. terpenica IFM 0406.

ABSTRACT Here, we report the draft genome sequence of a clinical isolate of the uropathogenic strain Escherichia coli KL53. A total of 5,083,632 bp was de novo assembled into 170 contigs containing 89 RNAs and 5,034 protein-coding genes. Remarkable is the presence of the tellurite resistance ( ter ) operon on a plasmid.

ABSTRACT Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Klebsiella pneumoniae strain AWD5, isolated from an automobile workshop in India. The de novo assembly resulted in a 4,807,409 bp genome containing 25 rRNA genes, 81 tRNAs, and 4,636 coding sequences (CDS). It carries important genes for polyaromatic hydrocarbon degradation and benzoate degradation.

Here, we report the genome sequence of PA291, a nonmucoid, multidrug-resistant strain of Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolated from cystic fibrosis sputum. Short reads were de novo assembled into 190 contigs and scaffold assembled to a length of 6.26 Mbp. PhiSpy predicts that PA291 is free of prophages.

ABSTRACT We report here the draft de novo genome assembly, transcriptome assembly, and annotation of the lichen-forming fungus Arthonia radiata (Pers.) Ach., the type species for Arthoniomycetes, a class of lichen-forming, lichenicolous, and saprobic Ascomycota. The genome was assembled using overlapping paired-end and mate pair libraries and sequenced on an Illumina HiSeq 2500 instrument.
