ABSTRACT The complete genome sequence of “Candidatus Puniceispirillum marinum” IMCC1322, the first cultured representative of the SAR116 clade in the Alphaproteobacteria, is reported here. The genome contains genes for proteorhodopsin, aerobic-type carbon monoxide dehydrogenase, dimethylsulfoniopropionate demethylase, and C1 compound metabolism. The genome information proposes the SAR116 group to be metabolic generalists in ocean nutrient cycling.

ABSTRACT Here, we report the complete genome sequence of Streptococcus mutans strain MD, which produces potent mutacins capable of inhibiting streptococci. MD is a relatively uncharacterized strain whose genome information was unavailable. This study provides useful information for comparative genomic study and for understanding the repertoire of mutacins in S. mutans.

ABSTRACT Here, we report the closed genome sequence of Clostridium formicaceticum, an Rnf- and cytochrome-containing autotrophic acetogen that is able to convert carbon monoxide to acetate using the Wood-Ljungdahl pathway. The genome consists of a circular chromosome (4.59 Mb).

To date, only 13 genomes of green sulfur bacteria (family Chlorobiaceae ) have been sequenced. The sequenced strains do not cover the full phylogenetic diversity of the family. We determined the complete genome sequence of Prosthecochloris sp. strain CIB 2401, thereby increasing the genome information for the poorly represented marine Chlorobiaceae .

Cyanobacterial genus Leptolyngbya comprises genetically diverse species, but the availability of their complete genome information is limited. Here, we isolated Leptolyngbya sp. strain NIES-3755 from soil at the Toyohashi University of Technology, Japan. We determined the complete genome sequence of the NIES-3755 strain, which is composed of one chromosome and three plasmids.

ABSTRACT Stenotrophomonas sp. strain WZN-1, isolated from an e-waste recycling area in Tianjin, China, is capable of degrading polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs). The complete genome of strain WZN-1 consists of 4,512,703 bp. This genome information will provide important information about the biodegradation pathways and mechanisms of PBDEs.
