To date, only 13 genomes of green sulfur bacteria (family Chlorobiaceae ) have been sequenced. The sequenced strains do not cover the full phylogenetic diversity of the family. We determined the complete genome sequence of Prosthecochloris sp. strain CIB 2401, thereby increasing the genome information for the poorly represented marine Chlorobiaceae .

We report here the complete genome sequence of a novel reovirus, designated Chiqui virus (CHQV) strain CoB38d, that was isolated from a pool of unidentified mosquitoes collected in northern Colombia in 2013. CHQV has nine double-stranded DNA (dsRNA) genome segments and has similarity to viruses belonging to the family Reoviridae, subfamily Spinareovirinae.

ABSTRACT Here, we report the complete genome sequence of Streptococcus mutans strain MD, which produces potent mutacins capable of inhibiting streptococci. MD is a relatively uncharacterized strain whose genome information was unavailable. This study provides useful information for comparative genomic study and for understanding the repertoire of mutacins in S. mutans.

Green sulfur bacteria are in the family Chlorobiaceae, which is composed of four distinct genera, namely, Chlorobaculum, Chlorobium, Prosthecochloris, and Chloroherpeton, with Chlorobium species being the most commonly represented in genome studies. We have now sequenced only the fourth species of Chlorobaculum, which established Chlorobaculum sp. 24CR as a separate species and should help characterize the genus.

ABSTRACT We describe here a double-stranded RNA mycovirus, termed Fusarium graminearum alternavirus 1 (FgAV1/AH11), from the isolate AH11 of the phytopathogenic fungus F. graminearum . Phylogenetic analysis showed that FgAV1/AH11 belongs to a newly proposed family, Alternaviridae . This is the first report of a mycovirus in the family Alternaviridae that infects F. graminearum .

The complete genome sequence of Desulfovibrio indicus J2 T , a member of the family Desulfovibrionaceae , consists of 3,966,573-bp in one contig and encodes 3,461 predicted genes, 5 noncoding RNAs, 3 rRNAs operons, and 52 tRNA-encoding genes. The genome is consistent with a heterotrophic, anaerobic lifestyle including the sulfate reduction pathway.

Members of the genus Humibacter, from the family Microbacteriaceae, have been isolated from sewage sludge compost, agarwood chips, and various soil samples. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of Humibacter aquilariae BT305, the first genome sequence identified within the genus Humibacter, which was isolated from the small intestine of castrated beef cattle.
