Here, we announce the complete genome sequence of Streptococcus pyogenes strain 10-85 (type emm1), isolated from a patient with streptococcal toxic shock syndrome (STSS). The strain lacks the genomic regions encoding SalR-SalK, a two‐component regulatory system, and the adjacent type I restriction modification system.

We report the complete genome sequence for Streptococcus pyogenes strain 1838 (type emm3) isolated from a patient with toxic shock syndrome. The strain lacked the speK- and sla-encoding prophage frequently encountered among emm3 strains and possessed an Arg66His mutation in CovR of the 2-component virulence regulatory system CovRS.

ABSTRACT We present here the complete genome sequence of Streptococcus pyogenes type emm111 strain GUR, a throat isolate from a scarlet fever patient, which has been used to treat cancer patients in the former Soviet Union. We also present the complete genome sequence of its derivative strain GURSA1 with an inactivated emm gene.

We report the complete annotated genome sequence of Microbacterium foliorum NRRL B-24224, a type strain isolated from the phyllosphere of grasses and a commonly used host for bacteriophage discovery. The genome contains no identifiable prophage or CRISPR or restriction-modification system, which suggests that it may continue to be a fruitful host for phage discovery.

ABSTRACT The incidence of scarlet fever cases remains high in China. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of a Streptococcus pyogenes isolate of serotype M12, which has been confirmed as the predominant serotype in recent outbreaks. Genome sequencing was achieved by a combination of Oxford Nanopore MinION and Illumina methodologies.

ABSTRACT Here, we report the complete genome sequence of the Streptococcus pyogenes emm14 strain JS95, isolated from a patient with necrotizing fasciitis. The streptococcal invasion locus (sil), the first quorum-sensing system characterized in S. pyogenes, was identified in this strain.

Malassezia restricta, one of the predominant basidiomycetous yeasts present on human skin, is involved in scalp disorders. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of the lipophilic Malassezia restricta CBS 7877 strain, which will facilitate the study of the mechanisms underlying its commensal and pathogenic roles within the skin microbiome.

The hydrogen-utilizing strain Cupriavidus necator H16 (DSM 428) was sequenced using a combination of PacBio and Illumina sequencing. Annotation of this strain reveals 6,543 protein-coding genes, 263 pseudogenes, 64 tRNA genes, and 15 rRNA genes.
