This report describes the draft genome sequence of Lactobacillus brevis TUCO-5E, a probiotic strain isolated from porcine maternal milk. The reads were generated by a whole-genome sequencing (WGS) strategy on an Illumina MiSeq sequencer and were assembled into contigs with a total estimated size of 2,461,089 bp.

In this report, we present the draft genome sequence of a newly discovered potential probiotic strain of Lactobacillus kefiri, SGL 13, isolated from kefir grains. Antibiotic resistance analysis did not reveal evidence of interspecific horizontal gene transfer since the identified bacitracin resistance gene does not have mobile genetic elements.

ABSTRACT In this work, we report the draft genome sequence of Lactobacillus salivarius SGL 03, a novel potential probiotic strain isolated from healthy infant stools. Antibiotic resistance analysis revealed the presence of a tetracycline resistance gene without elements potentially responsible for interspecific horizontal gene transfer.

ABSTRACT This study reports the draft genome sequence of a promising fish probiotic, Bacillus subtilis strain WS1A, that possesses antimicrobial activity against Aeromonas veronii and suppressed motile Aeromonas septicemia in Labeo rohita. The de novo assembly resulted in an estimated chromosome size of 4,148,460 bp, with 4,288 open reading frames.

ABSTRACT We report the draft genome sequence of a putative probiotic strain, Lactobacillus fermentum ASBT-2, isolated from domestic sewage in Kerala, India. The strain showed probiotic properties (tolerance to low pH and bile salts, binding to host matrix) and reduced the coliform count by 90% in a biofilter used to treat wastewater.

ABSTRACT Herein, we report the draft genome sequence of a newly discovered probiotic strain, Enterococcus faecium J19, which was isolated from cabbage. Strain J19 has shown antagonistic effects against the human foodborne pathogen Listeria monocytogenes in coculture and in different food matrices.

Weissella cibaria P71 is a lactic acid bacterium that was isolated from common octopus ( Octopus vulgaris ) and previously showed interesting probiotic properties for turbot ( Scophthalmus maximus L.) farming. The draft genome sequence of this strain provides further data to support its potential as a probiotic for aquaculture.
