The etonogestrel implant is the most effective contraceptive available. We report a case of ectopic pregnancy in a woman who had an etonogestrel implant inserted 15 months ago and the effective concentration of the implant was within normal limits.

Objective: To report cases of ovarian pregnancyMaterials and Methods: This article describes a case report of a 33 year old woman, with a diagnosis of Ovarian Pregnancy at 6-7 weeks gravid G2P0A1H0. The patient came to the emergency room Dr. M. Djamil Padang. The ultrasound examination gives the impression of an ectopic pregnancy in the right ampulla tube. After laparoscopy, an ectopic pregnancy was seen in the right ovary without bleeding. Right ovarian pregnancy impression. Partial Oophorectomy was performed and tissue evacuation with bleeding during the procedure ± 30 cc.Results: Patients receiving laparoscopic intervention showed an ectopic pregnancy in the right ovary without bleeding, the left ovary was within normal limits. The tissue was examined for histology of anatomic pathology.Conclusion: Ovarian pregnancy is one of the rarest forms of ectopic pregnancy, it is sometimes difficult to diagnose because it can be confused with tubal ectopic pregnancy or hemorrhagic ovarian cyst. Background: Cervical ectopic pregnancy (CEP) is a rare and dangerous form of ectopic pregnancy in which the blastocyst is installed within the endo-cervical canal. CEP diagnosis requires special awareness to evaluate patient precisely. Individualizing controversial medical and surgical management strategies is of importance in medical practice. Case: A 35-year-old nulliparous woman on her 9th week of pregnancy was referred to our hospital with vaginal bleeding preliminary misdiagnosed as aborting intrauterine pregnancy. Transvaginal ultrasound revealed an empty uterus and a viable triplet pregnancy just below the level of internal os. Cervical curettage after cerclage suture placement procedure removed conception tissues completely. Consequently, in the next few hours vaginal bleeding decreased to minimal amount and vital signs remained within normal limits and there was no hematocrit change. On follow-up day 32, serum B-HCG became negative. Conclusion: CEP diagnosis requires special attention and awareness to evaluate patient precisely along with skillful assessment of possible risk factors. Lifesaving treatment beside fertility preservation was successful with pre-curettage cerclage.

SummaryWe investigated the effect of staphylokinase (SAK), which has specific thrombolytic properties, on human platelet aggregation. Platelet aggregation induced with collagen was observed following preincubation of platelets in platelet-rich plasma (PRP) or washed platelet suspension (WP) with SAK at 37° C for 30 min. SAK inhibited platelet aggregation in PRP only at the highest examined concentration (1 x 10-4 g/ml). Although SAK did not inhibit platelet aggregation in WP which contained fibrinogen, it did when the platelets had been preincubated with SAK and plasminogen. The most effective concentration in WP was 1 x 10-6 g/ml. The effect could be inhibited by adding aprotinin or α2-antiplasmin. The highest generation of plasmin in the same preincubation fluid was detected at 1 x 10-6 g/ml SAK. We concluded that SAK can inhibit platelet aggregation in WP by generating plasmin and/or fibrinogen degradation products, but is only partially effective in PRP because of the existence of α2-antiplasmin.

SummaryA case of haemophilia in a young white girl is described. There was a history of bleeding from birth. The thromboplastin generation test was grossly abnormal and A. H. G. levels were below 1%. Bleeding time and capillary morphology was within normal limits. Dental extraction after transfusion caused almost uncontrollable haemorrhage.A complete family history was obtained for four generations. There was no case of a “bleeder” amongst these.The girl’s apparent sex was confirmed by sex chromatin studies.
