Diagnoses are given for three new species of the fresh-water calanoid copepod genus Diaptomus (subgenera Hesperodiaptomus and Aglaodiaptomus) from Saskatchewan and Louisiana. A check list of the calanoid copepods of Saskatchewan includes 23 species, of which 8 were previously reported in the literature, and 15 are new additions resulting from examination of collections from various types of water bodies.

This paper reports on mites of the family Pachylaelapidae collected in Bayburt Province, Turkey, during 2013–2015. Nine species were recorded in the genera Pachyseius, Olopachys, Pachylaelaps, and Onchodellus. Pachylaelaps (Longipachylaelaps) bayburtensis sp. nov., Onchodellus turcicus sp. nov. and O. montanus sp. nov. are described to new, and Pachylaelaps (Longipachylaelaps) vicarus is a new record for the Turkish mite fauna. New records extend the geographic range of Pachyseius masani, Olopachys hallidayi, and O. elongatus in Turkey.

The paper provides additions to the known diversity of Begonia in Vietnam and Laos. One species new to science from Lao PDR (B. vivipara) and three new species from Vietnam (B. aspersa, B. gracilifolia, B. maculifolia) are described. Three species (B. rotundilimba, B. versicolor, B. wenshanensis) are reported as new records for the flora of Vietnam. For each species, the information on ecology, phenology, estimated conservation status and distribution is presented, as well as the relevant taxonomic notes and analytical photographic illustrations.

Recent efforts with Malaise trap sampling in Serra dos Órgãos and Itatiaia, in Brazil, allowed us to identify and describe three new species from the first locality: Hylotribus humeralis sp. nov., H. nanico sp. nov. and H. queirozi sp. nov. New records of H. plaumanni Queiroz & Mermudes, 2014 for both localities and H. sublimis Queiroz & Mermudes, 2014 for the latter are also presented. We also describe morphological variability including aptery and microptery, and male genitalia, for H. plaumanni. We produce a new key to the species and discuss the species relationships and wing variation for the genus.

As a contribution to knowledge of the aquatic beetles of the Neotropical Region, the genus Berosus Leach is recorded for the first time from Roraima State in northern Brazil. Three new species are described and illustrated: Berosus illuviosus sp. n., B. parvus sp. n., and B. andreazzei sp. n. In addition, we present a checklist of the Berosus species collected in 26 ponds in the savanna area of the State of Roraima, with 12 new species records for the state, five of which are also new country records for Brazil.

Three new water mite (Acari: Hydrachnidia) species are described from Tasmania, Tasmanobates separatus sp. nov., Procorticacarus karanovici sp. nov. and Guineaxonopsis tasmanica sp. nov. The material was collected in 2008 during a biological survey by Tom and Ivana Karanović (Hobart, Tasmania) from surface and interstitial waters of Tasmania. Moreover, a detailed description of Litarachna cf. amnicola Cook, 1986 is given.
