AbstractIn 2017, LHCb collaboration reported their first observation of the rare decays $$B_s \rightarrow \phi (f_0(980)$$ B s → ϕ ( f 0 ( 980 ) $$/f_2(1270) \rightarrow ) \pi ^+\pi ^-$$ / f 2 ( 1270 ) → ) π + π - and the evidence of $$B^0 \rightarrow \phi (f_0(980)/f_2(1270)\rightarrow )\pi ^+\pi ^-$$ B 0 → ϕ ( f 0 ( 980 ) / f 2 ( 1270 ) → ) π + π - . Motivated by this, we study these quasi-two-body decays in the perturbative QCD approach. The branching fractions, CP asymmetries and the polarization fractions are calculated. We find that within the appropriate two-meson wave functions, the calculated branching fractions are in agreement with the measurements of LHCb. Based on the narrow-width approximation, We also calculate the branching fractions of the quasi-two-body $$B_{d,s}\rightarrow \phi (f_0(980)/f_2(1270)\rightarrow ) \pi ^0\pi ^0$$ B d , s → ϕ ( f 0 ( 980 ) / f 2 ( 1270 ) → ) π 0 π 0 and $$B_{d,s}\rightarrow \phi (f_2(1270)\rightarrow ) K^+K^-$$ B d , s → ϕ ( f 2 ( 1270 ) → ) K + K - , and hope the predictions to be tested in the ongoing LHCb and Belle II experiments. Moreover, the processes $$B_{d,s}\rightarrow \phi f_2(1270)$$ B d , s → ϕ f 2 ( 1270 ) are also analyzed under the approximation. We note that the CP asymmetries of these decays are very small, because these decays are either penguin dominant or pure penguin processes.

Abstract We consider light neutralinos of mass about 1 GeV, produced from τ lepton rare decays at Belle II, in the context of R-parity-violating (RPV) supersymmetry. With large and clean samples of τ leptons produced at the Belle II experiment, excellent sensitivity to such light neutralinos with the exotic signatures of displaced vertices is expected. We focus on two benchmark scenarios of single RPV operators, $$ {\lambda}_{311}^{\prime }{L}_3{Q}_1{\overline{D}}_1 $$ λ 311 ′ L 3 Q 1 D ¯ 1 and $$ {\lambda}_{312}^{\prime }{L}_3{Q}_1{\overline{D}}_2 $$ λ 312 ′ L 3 Q 1 D ¯ 2 , which induce both the production and decay of the lightest neutralino. For the reconstruction of a displaced vertex, we require at least two charged pions in the final states. We perform Monte-Carlo simulations for both signal and background events, and find that Belle II can explore regions in the parameter space competitive with other probes. In particular, for the $$ {\lambda}_{311}^{\prime } $$ λ 311 ′ scenario, it can put limits up to two orders of magnitude stronger than the current bounds.

Motivated by the experiments of heavy flavor physics at running LHC and upgrading SuperKEKB/Belle-II in the future, the nonleptonic [Formula: see text] [Formula: see text] weak decays are studied in this paper. The amplitudes are calculated with factorization approach, and the transition form factors [Formula: see text] are evaluated within BSW model. With the reasonable approximation [Formula: see text], our predictions of branching fractions are presented. Numerically, the CKM-favored tree-dominated [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] decays have the largest branching fractions of the order [Formula: see text], and hence will be firstly observed by forthcoming Belle-II experiment. However, most of the other decay modes have the branching fractions [Formula: see text] and thus are hardly to be observed soon. Besides, for the possible detectable [Formula: see text] decays with branching fractions [Formula: see text], some useful ratios, such as [Formula: see text], etc. are presented and discussed in detail.

AbstractInspired by recent measurement of possible fully charmed tetraquarks in LHCb Collaboration, we investigate the mass spectra of fully heavy tetraquarks $$QQ {\bar{Q}} {\bar{Q}}$$ Q Q Q ¯ Q ¯ in an extended relativized quark model. Our estimations indicate that the broad structure around 6.4 GeV should contain one or more ground states for $$cc {\bar{c}} {\bar{c}}$$ c c c ¯ c ¯ tetraquarks, while the narrow structure near 6.9 GeV can be categorized as the first radial excitation of $$cc {\bar{c}} {\bar{c}}$$ c c c ¯ c ¯ system. Moreover, with the wave functions of the tetraquarks and mesons, the strong decays of tetraquarks into heavy quarkonium pair are qualitatively discussed, which can be further checked by the LHCb and CMS Collaborations.

Abstract The study of hyperon decays at the Beijing Electron Spectrometer III (BESIII) is proposed to investigate the events of J/ψ decay into hyperon pairs, which provide a pristine experimental environment at the Beijing Electron–Positron Collider II. About 106–108 hyperons, i.e., Λ, Σ, Ξ, and Ω, will be produced in the J/ψ and ψ(2S) decays with the proposed data samples at BESIII. Based on these samples, the measurement sensitivity of the branching fractions of the hyperon decays is in the range of 10−5–10−8. In addition, with the known center-of-mass energy and “tag technique”, rare decays and decays with invisible final states can be probed.

The Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB collider is a major upgrade of the KEK “B factory” facility in Tsukuba, Japan. The machine is designed for an instantaneous luminosity of [Formula: see text], and the experiment is expected to accumulate a data sample of about 50 ab[Formula: see text]. With this amount of data, decays sensitive to physics beyond the Standard Model can be studied with unprecedented precision. One promising set of modes are physics processes with missing energy such as [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], and [Formula: see text] decays. The [Formula: see text] decay provides one of the cleanest experimental probes of the flavour-changing neutral current process [Formula: see text], which is sensitive to physics beyond the Standard Model. However, the missing energies of the neutrinos in the final state makes the measurement challenging and requires full reconstruction of the spectator [Formula: see text] meson in [Formula: see text] events. This report discusses the expected sensitivities of Belle II for these rare decays.

The [Formula: see text] weak decay is studied with the perturbative QCD approach firstly. It is found that (1) main contributions to branching ratio come from the longitudinal and parallel helicity amplitudes, (2) branching ratio, longitudinal and parallel polarization fractions are sensitive to the wave functions of the [Formula: see text] meson, (3) branching ratio for the [Formula: see text] decay can reach up to [Formula: see text], which might be promisingly measured by the future experiments.
