This chapter argues that Buddhist ethics does not fit into any of the standard Western metaethical theories. It is neither an instance of a virtue theory, nor of a deontological theory, nor of a consequentialist theory. It is closer to a sentimentalist theory, but different from those as well. Instead, it defends a reading of Buddhist ethics as a moral phenomenology and as particularist, utilizing casuistic reasoning. That is, Buddhist ethics is concerned primarily with the transformation of experience, of the way we perceive ourselves and other moral agents and patients. This chapter also argues that the metaphor of path structures Buddhist ethical thought.

AbstractVery recently, the LHCb Collaboration observed distinct structures with the $$cc{\bar{c}}{\bar{c}}$$ c c c ¯ c ¯ in the $$J/\Psi $$ J / Ψ -pair mass spectrum. In this work, we construct four scalar ($$J^{PC} = 0^{++}$$ J PC = 0 + + ) $$[8_c]_{Q\bar{Q^\prime }}\otimes [8_c]_{Q^\prime {\bar{Q}}}$$ [ 8 c ] Q Q ′ ¯ ⊗ [ 8 c ] Q ′ Q ¯ type currents to investigate the fully-heavy tetraquark state $$Q Q^\prime {\bar{Q}} \bar{Q^\prime }$$ Q Q ′ Q ¯ Q ′ ¯ in the framework of QCD sum rules, where $$Q=c, b$$ Q = c , b and $$Q^\prime = c, b$$ Q ′ = c , b . Our results suggest that the broad structure around 6.2-6.8 GeV can be interpreted as the $$0^{++}$$ 0 + + octet–octet tetraquark states with masses $$6.44\pm 0.11$$ 6.44 ± 0.11 GeV and $$6.52\pm 0.10$$ 6.52 ± 0.10 GeV, and the narrow structure around 6.9 GeV can be interpreted as the $$0^{++}$$ 0 + + octet–octet tetraquark states with masses $$6.87\pm 0.11$$ 6.87 ± 0.11 GeV and $$6.96\pm 0.11$$ 6.96 ± 0.11 GeV, respectively. Extending to the b-quark sector,the masses of their fully-bottom partners are found to be around 18.38-18.59 GeV. Additionally, we also analyze the spectra of the $$[8_c]_{c{\bar{c}}}\otimes [8_c]_{b {\bar{b}}}$$ [ 8 c ] c c ¯ ⊗ [ 8 c ] b b ¯ and $$[8_c]_{c{\bar{b}}}\otimes [8_c]_{b {\bar{c}}}$$ [ 8 c ] c b ¯ ⊗ [ 8 c ] b c ¯ tetraquark states, which lie in the range of 12.51–12.74 GeV and 12.49–12.81 GeV, respectively.

In this paper, we introduce a relative [Formula: see text]-wave to construct the doubly-charm axialvector diquark operator, then take the doubly-charm axialvector (anti-)diquark operator as the basic constituent to construct the scalar and tensor tetraquark currents to study the scalar, axialvector and tensor fully-charm tetraquark states with the QCD sum rules. We observe that the ground state [Formula: see text]-type tetraquark states and the first radial excited states of the [Formula: see text]-type tetraquark states have almost degenerated masses, where the [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] stand for the diquark operators with and without the relative [Formula: see text]-wave, respectively, the broad structure above the [Formula: see text] threshold maybe consist of several diquark–antidiquark-type fully-charm tetraquark states.

This reflective paper draws on an evaluation of current online pedagogy but also the authors practice as an artist that revolves around forming a relationship between image and sound. As such ‘Listening’ and ‘Looking’ are used as a broad structure for six short essays that draw on experiences of moving to online delivery to consider the virtual classroom as an amorphous, fluid space that can be both problematic but also present opportunities for innovative teaching and learning. In addition to the six reflective essays; Latency, Volume, Spaces to Speak, Lebenswelt, Screenshare and The Thingness of Making, The Thingness of Teaching the article draws on an anonymous survey of second and third (final) year undergraduate students and an online conversation group initiated with colleagues that teach at undergraduate and post graduate level at both Manchester School of Art and the Royal College of Art. Rather than propose a definite set of conclusions the article suggests that the online platform is inherently a visual one, but using listening as a way of understanding it could open up the possibility of creating a teaching space that is concurrently difficult to grasp but potentially easily accessible and less hierarchical.

AbstractInspired by recent measurement of possible fully charmed tetraquarks in LHCb Collaboration, we investigate the mass spectra of fully heavy tetraquarks $$QQ {\bar{Q}} {\bar{Q}}$$ Q Q Q ¯ Q ¯ in an extended relativized quark model. Our estimations indicate that the broad structure around 6.4 GeV should contain one or more ground states for $$cc {\bar{c}} {\bar{c}}$$ c c c ¯ c ¯ tetraquarks, while the narrow structure near 6.9 GeV can be categorized as the first radial excitation of $$cc {\bar{c}} {\bar{c}}$$ c c c ¯ c ¯ system. Moreover, with the wave functions of the tetraquarks and mesons, the strong decays of tetraquarks into heavy quarkonium pair are qualitatively discussed, which can be further checked by the LHCb and CMS Collaborations.

The challenge to improve the treatment of Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) is to plan for managers and health professionals, as well as to estimate the necessary costs. To this end, research should be developed to support the health area, with emphasis on the development of software that complements data collection. For these reasons, the objective of this study is to describe the development of software for the collection of cost information and clinical, laboratory and therapeutic data of patients with SCD, which can be used in the future by other areas of health. This is an experimental and applied research focused on technological production. The applied process model was incremental and followed the steps of communication, planning, modeling and development.  The first version is in the testing phase and presents the record format, does not require internet connection, can interact with Windows®, Linux® or MacOS® operating systems and encrypt data for storage. In the next increments, the customization of the fields with a broad structure for data collection; data export in spreadsheet format for use in external tools; creation of customized reports and central database stands out.

This chapter examines the structures and principles of waste management law, using several jurisdictions including China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, the European Union, and the United States for comparison. It first provides an overview of the so-called macrostructures of waste management laws, focusing on three ways in which the broad structure of waste laws can be contrasted: centralized systems versus delegated systems, unified systems versus fragmented systems, and integrated versus specific systems. It then considers the principles of waste management law, with emphasis on approaches taken to define ‘waste’, waste hierarchy, waste streams, and waste classifications. It also describes management principles such as reduction of waste generation, treatment near the source, standards of waste treatment, prohibitions and restrictions of movement, and extended producer responsibility. Finally, it explores the emerging trend of circular economy approaches to waste management.

This chapter outlines the methodological approach that underpins the book and sets out the broad structure of the storyline that the later chapters explore. It outlines a chronological structure and groups the chapters together into three themed sections. The first explores the roots of chiptunes in 8-bit video games and shows how the specifications and constraints of the hardware shaped both the sound of 8-bit music and the working practices of those who wrote it. The second section discusses how, through a combination of new software interfaces and new musical contexts, chiptune became a defining characteristic of the demoscene, an underground community of digital arts practitioners. Finally, the third section charts the reemergence of chiptune as a live, performative form of music making and shows how, as it grew in popularity, around it grew other aspects of the music industry: online record labels, fandom, and cultural affiliation.

While the decolonial turn calls into question the broad structure of Western knowledge projects, it also suggests an investigation of the central objects and categories of these projects. This study undertakes this latter investigation in relation to Marxist theory. Starting from the work of Frantz Fanon and contemporary theorists of coloniality, I consider three central figures in the Marxian critique of capital: enclosure, valorization, and real subsumption. Interrogating familiar and heterodox accounts of these figures, my analysis exposes an architecture of injury that comprehends the structure of value and that articulates a process of extended violation working beyond the dialectic.
