The new experimental data of kaon photoproduction on the nucleon γp → K+Λ have been analyzed by means of a multipoles model. Different from the previous models, in this analysis the resonance decay widths are constrained to the values given by the Particle Data Group (PDG). The result indicates that constraining these parameters to the PDG values could dramatically change the conclusion of the important resonances in this reaction found in the previous studies.

The interaction potentials between vector mesons and baryon octet are calculated explicitly with a summation of t-, s-, and u- channel diagrams and a contact term originating from the tensor interaction. Altogether, 13 resonances are generated dynamically in different channels of strangeness zero by solving the relativistic Lippman-Schwinger equations in the S-wave approximation, and their masses, decay widths, isospins and spins are determined. Some resonances are well fitted with their counterparts listed in the newest review of Particle Data Group (PDG),1 while others might stimulate the experimental observation in these energy regions in the future.

Is presented the dynamics and kinematics of the semi-leptonic decays with interaction  V-A calculating the decay width and the fraction of decay for each process using spectator model. The results are compared with the experimental data of the table particle data group, which show that the model prediction for this type of decay can be considered as a first approximation. This type of analysis is particularly important because it allows one hand, introduce to the beginner students to the study of particle physics and on the other gives the possibility to use strategies to address topics modern in physics courses at university level.

The sigma(ξ)meson exchange contribution to the potential of the muon-proton interactionin muonichydrogen inducedbythe ξ-meson coupling to two photons is estimated. The transition form factor ξ → γγ is deduced from the quark model and experimental data on the decay widths Γσγγ. It is shown that scalar meson exchange contribution to the Lamb shift in muonic hydrogen, △ELs(2P−2S ),is rather large and relevant for a comparison with coming precise experimental data.

Performing a fit procedure on the hyperon masses, we first determine the free parameters in the Cornell-like hypercentral potential between the constituent quarks of hyperons in their ground state. To this end, using the variational principle, we apply the hyperspherical Hamiltonian including the Cornell-like hypercentral potential and the perturbation potentials due to the spin–spin, spin–isospin and isospin–isospin interactions between constituent quarks. In the following, we compute the hyperon magnetic moments as well as radiative decay widths of spin-3/2 hyperons using the spin-flavor wave function of hyperons. Our analysis shows acceptable consistencies between theoretical results and available experimental data. This leads to reliable wave functions for hyperons at their ground state.

Using the factorization approach and considering the contributions of the current–current, QCD penguin and electroweak penguin operators at the leading approximation, the decay amplitudes and decay widths of [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] transitions, where q = u, d, s and P and V are pseudoscalar and vector mesons, are calculated in terms of the transition form factors of the Bq→Dq and [Formula: see text]. Having computed those form factors in three-point QCD sum rules, the branching fraction for these decays are also evaluated. A comparison of our results with the predictions of the perturbative QCD as well as the existing experimental data is presented.

This study analyzes the correlation between the lifetime and the rest energy of the unstable particle states with a lifetime greater than the zeptosecond (10−21 s), using data available from the Particle Data Group. This set of states seems to be divided into three groups, in each of which the two quantities can be correlated through a remarkably accurate power law. Although this fact does not represent anything new compared to the predictions of the Standard Model, it nevertheless reveals an unexpected order structure in the set of particle decays, emerging from such predictions.

The model-independent constraints on the Abelian Z′ couplings from the LEP data are applied to estimate the Z′ production in experiments at the Tevatron and LHC. The Z′ total and partial decay widths are analyzed. The results are compared with model-dependent predictions and present experimental data from the Tevatron. If we assume the 1–2σ hints from the LEP data to be a signal of the Abelian Z′ boson, then the Tevatron data constrain the Z′ mass between 400 GeV and 1.2 TeV.
