By considering 14 different pion and proton form-factor combinations it is shown that the Chou-Yang model is not successful in describing πp elastic data at 200 GeV/c. It is further shown that a modified version in which the proton matter distribution is different from its electromagnetic form factors is able to describe the data well. Aspects of amplitude structure are also discussed.

Recently an experiment at Jefferson Lab has measured the proton form factor ratio, [Formula: see text], down to Q2 ~ 0.3 GeV 2 with unprecedented precision. Based on the results from this experiment, a re-analysis was carried out for the world data on proton form factors, and a new result was extracted for the proton charge radius. The new result is consistent with published CODATA results and is at odds with the new muonic hydrogen measurement at PSI. We present the results of the new measurement, as well as discuss an upcoming experiment to measure the form factor ratio down to even lower Q2.

The prediction that the use of the Borkowski form factor for proton in the Chou-Yang model for π−p elastic scattering at 200 GeV/c yields multiple dip structure in the region −5 ≲ −t ≲ 8 (GeV/c) 2 is shown to be incorrect. A parameterization of the proton form factor obtained by including the new experimental data for large −t when used in conjunction with pion form factor also does not produce the observed dip near −t = 4 (GeV/c) 2. Three possible approaches for a solution of the problem are briefly discussed.

The Chou-Yang model is applied to the ≡−p elastic data from the SPS hyperon beam experiments under the assumption that hyperons have approximately equal form factors. Three different expressions for the proton electric form factor are used. All cases yield similar results in good agreement with experiment. The model predicts a dip in dσ/dt around −t ≃ 1 (GeV/c) 2 at present energies.

This contribution reports on the recent measurements of baryon electromagnetic form factors at the BESIII experiment in Beijing. The Beijing e+e − collider BEPCII is a double-ring symmetric collider running at $ \sqrt s $ between 2.0 and 4.6 GeV. Baryon electromagnetic form factors can be measured at BESIII in direct e+e−-annihilation and in initial state radiation processes. Based on the data collected by the BESIII detector at 12 center of mass energies between 2.23 and 3.67 GeV, the measured $ \mathop e\nolimits^ + \mathop e\nolimits^ - \to \mathop p\limits^ - p $ cross section and the time-like proton form factor are presented. Preliminary results from the analysis of the initial state radiation process $ \mathop e\nolimits^ + \mathop e\nolimits^ - \to \mathop p\limits^ - p\gamma $ using a data set of 7.408 fb−1 collected at center of mass energies between 3.773 and 4.6 GeV, are also shown. The cross sections for $ \mathop e\nolimits^ + \mathop e\nolimits^ - \to \mathop {\mathop \Lambda \nolimits_c^ - }\limits^ - \mathop \Lambda \nolimits_c^ + $ and $ \mathop e\nolimits^ + \mathop e\nolimits^ - \to \mathop \Lambda \limits^ - \Lambda $ are measured near threshold with unprecedented precision. Preliminary results on the first measurement of the ^c form factor ratio |GE|/|GM| are also given. Ongoing analysis based on the high luminosity energy scan from 2015 and from radiative return at different $ \sqrt s $ are also described.

The form factors of the heavy mesons like Bc+ , ηb, B0s, F+, B0 , D, ψ,  ϕ, proton and also deuteron are investigated in the framework of the statistical model for low momentum transfer Q in the range 0.01 ≤ Q2 ≤ 0.1 GeV2.It has been observedthat the heavy-light flavour mesonic form factors show a scaling behavior in the aforesaid low Q2 range. The proton form factor also shows almost scaling in the aforesaid range whereas the deuteron form factor shows a clear violation indicating large contribution from sea quarks and gluon sector.
