We intend to study the alpha-decay half-lives of some nuclei from ground state to ground state. We consider a potential model with Yukawa proximity potential. We see that the results are in good agreement with the experimental data.

The alpha-decay half-lives of the 24 isotopes of Eu (Z = 63) nuclei in the region 130≤A≤153, have been studied systematically within the Coulomb and proximity potential model (CPPM). We have modified the assault frequency and re-determined the half-lives and they show a better agreement with the experimental value. We have also done calculations on the half-lives within the recently proposed Coulomb and proximity potential model for deformed nuclei (CPPMDN). The computed half-lives are compared with the experimental data and they are in good agreement. Using our model, we could also demonstrate the influence of the neutron shell closure at N = 82, in both parent and daughter nuclei, on the alpha-decay half-lives.

Theoretical α-decay half-lives of some nuclei from ground state to ground state are calculated using different nuclear potential model including Coulomb proximity potential (CPPM), Royer proximity potential and Broglia and Winther 1991. The calculated values comparing with experimental data, it is observed that the CPPM model is in good agreement with the experimental data.

In this paper, the alpha decay process is investigated through the theoretical approaches for spherical Bismuth (Bi) isotopes in the range 187 [Formula: see text] A [Formula: see text] 214. The results are compared with the experimental data for isotopes of Bi with the modified Coulomb and proximity potential model (MCPPM). We analyze the systematics of alpha decay half-life (HL) of Bi isotopes versus the decay energy and the total [Formula: see text]-kinetic energy. The results and their systematics are compared with the available experimental data and with those data obtained from empirical models as the Viola-Seaborg (VS) formula, Royer (R) and the two versions of modified Brown (mB) empirical formulas. The computed half-lives (HLs) are compared with the experimental data and also with the existing empirical estimates and are found in good agreement.

We have studied systematically the alpha decay and cluster radioactivity half-life of heavy [Formula: see text]Mendelevium ([Formula: see text]) isotopes. The alpha decays from Md isotopes have been studied within the framework of Coulomb and proximity potential model using 14 different versions of nuclear potentials. Also, we have studied the half-lives of alpha decay of Md nuclei within the nuclear potentials generalized liquid drop model (GLDM) and also within GLDM with modified different nuclear potentials, namely proximity potential 2010, 1977, 1988, 2000 and 2002. Moreover, the half-lives of the [Formula: see text]-decay and cluster radioactivity calculated using the Universal formula for cluster decay (UNIV) of Poenaru et al., the Universal decay law (UDL) of Qi et al. and the Unified formula of half-lives for both the [Formula: see text]-decay and cluster radioactivity (UFADCR) of Ni et al. and found to be in good agreement. Our results have been compared with experimental data and demonstrate the acceptability of the approach. Among the different proximity potentials, GLDM with proximity 1977 version (GLDM[Formula: see text][Formula: see text][Formula: see text]P77) ([Formula: see text]) provides the best description for alpha decay studies with low deviation.

We considered the systematics of Alpha-decay (AD) half-life (HL) of super-heavy nuclei (SHN) versus the decay energy and the total [Formula: see text]-kinetic energy. We have considered a potential model with Yukawa proximity potential and thereby calculated the HLs. Our results compared with experimental data and the empirical estimates. Also, we obtained [Formula: see text]-preformation factors from the ratio between theoretical and experimental results for a few super heavy nuclei. The results indicate the acceptability of the approach.

We study the half-lives of some nuclei via the alpha-decay process in ground-state to ground-state ( g.s. → g.s. ) transitions. To go through the problem, we consider the parabola and WKB approximations to fin the penetration probability. This new formula is used to evaluate alpha-decay half-lives and a good agreement with the experiment is obtained.

The [Formula: see text]-decay (AD) half-life (HL) of [Formula: see text]Po [Formula: see text] isotopes is studied systematically within the modified Coulomb and proximity potential model (MCPPM). The computed HLs are compared with the existing theoretical formulae including Royer, AKRE, Ren B and MRen B. This study considers the role of neutron shell closure [Formula: see text] on the AD HLs. The comparison with the experimental data indicates the acceptability of the results.

The cluster decay process in 270–318118 superheavy nuclei has been studied extensively within the Coulomb and proximity potential model (CPPM), thereby investigating the probable cluster decays from the various isotopes of Z = 118. On comparing the predicted decay half-lives with the values evaluated using the Universal formula for cluster decay (UNIV) of Poenaru et al., the Universal Decay Law (UDL) of Qi et al., and the Scaling Law of Horoi et al., it was seen that, our values matches well with these theoretical values. A comparison of the predicted alpha decay half-life of the experimentally synthesized superheavy isotope 294118 with its corresponding experimental value shows that, our theoretical value is in good agreement with the experimental value. The plots for log 10(T1/2) against the neutron number of the daughter in the corresponding decay reveals the behavior of the cluster half-lives with the neutron number of the daughter nuclei and for most of the decays, the half-life was found to be the minimum for the decay leading to a daughter with N = 184. Most of the predicted half-lives are well within the present experimental upper limit (1030 s) and lower limit (10-6 s) for measurements and hence these predictions may be of great use for further experimental investigation on cluster decay in the superheavy region.

Our purpose in this paper is to modify the original proximity potential by universal function available in the literature. A potential model with Yukawa proximity potential has been considered according to the modified model fusion reactions of [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] which have been discussed in detail. The results have a good agreement with the experimental data.

In the framework of the generalized liquid drop model (GLDM) and improved Royer's formula, we investigate the branching ratios and half-lives of α-decay to the members of the ground-state rotational bands of heavy even–even Fm and No isotopes. The calculated results are in good agreement with the available experimental data and some useful predictions are provided for future experiments.
