We consider a discrete fractional boundary value problem of the formΔαu(t)=f(t+α-1,u(t+α-1)),  t∈[0,T]ℕ0:={0,1,…,T},  u(α-2)=0,  u(α+T)=Δ-βu(η+β),where1<α≤2,β>0,η∈[α-2,α+T-1]ℕα-2:={α-2,α-1,…,α+T-1}, andf:[α-1,α,…,α+T-1]ℕα-1×ℝ→ℝis a continuous function. The existence of at least one solution is proved by using Krasnoselskii's fixed point theorem and Leray-Schauder's nonlinear alternative. Some illustrative examples are also presented.

We present some results for the asymptotic stability of solutions for nonlinear fractional difference equations involvingRiemann-Liouville-likedifference operator. The results are obtained by using Krasnoselskii's fixed point theorem and discrete Arzela-Ascoli's theorem. Three examples are also provided to illustrate our main results.

We discuss the existence and uniqueness of solutions for the Langevin fractional differential equation and its inclusion counterpart involving the Hilfer fractional derivatives, supplemented with three-point boundary conditions by means of standard tools of the fixed-point theorems for single and multivalued functions. We make use of Banach’s fixed-point theorem to obtain the uniqueness result, while the nonlinear alternative of the Leray-Schauder type and Krasnoselskii’s fixed-point theorem are applied to obtain the existence results for the single-valued problem. Existence results for the convex and nonconvex valued cases of the inclusion problem are derived via the nonlinear alternative for Kakutani’s maps and Covitz and Nadler’s fixed-point theorem respectively. Examples illustrating the obtained results are also constructed. (2010) Mathematics Subject Classifications. We study a new class of three-point boundary value problems of nonlinear second-orderq-difference equations. Our problems contain different numbers ofqin derivatives and integrals. By using a variety of fixed point theorems (such as Banach’s contraction principle, Boyd and Wong fixed point theorem for nonlinear contractions, Krasnoselskii’s fixed point theorem, and Leray-Schauder nonlinear alternative) and Leray-Schauder degree theory, some new existence and uniqueness results are obtained. Illustrative examples are also presented.

A fractional boundary value problem is considered. By means of Banach contraction principle, Leray-Schauder nonlinear alternative, properties of the Green function, and Guo-Krasnosel'skii fixed point theorem on cone, some results on the existence, uniqueness, and positivity of solutions are obtained.

This paper is devoted to the existence of multiple positive solutions for fractional boundary value problemDC0+αu(t)=f(t,u(t),u′(t)),0<t<1,u(1)=u′(1)=u′′(0)=0, where2<α≤3is a real number,CD0+αis the Caputo fractional derivative, andf:[0,1]×[0,+∞)×R→[0,+∞)is continuous. Firstly, by constructing a special cone, applying Guo-Krasnoselskii’s fixed point theorem and Leggett-Williams fixed point theorem, some new existence criteria for fractional boundary value problem are established; secondly, by applying a new extension of Krasnoselskii’s fixed point theorem, a sufficient condition is obtained for the existence of multiple positive solutions to the considered boundary value problem from its auxiliary problem. Finally, as applications, some illustrative examples are presented to support the main results.

Abstract In this paper, a general nonlinear discrete fractional boundary value problem is considered, of order between one and two. The main result is an existence theorem, proving the existence of at least one solution to the boundary value problem, subject to validity of a certain key inequality that allows unrestricted growth in the problem. The proof of this existence theorem is accomplished by using Brouwer's fixed point theorem as well as two other main results of this paper, namely, first, a result showing that the solutions of the boundary value problem are exactly the solutions to a certain equivalent integral representation, and, second, the establishment of solutions satisfying certain a priori bounds provided the key inequality holds. In order to establish the latter result, several novel discrete fractional inequalities are developed, each of them interesting in itself and of potential future use in different contexts. We illustrate the usefulness of our existence results by presenting two examples.

We consider a hybrid fractional sum-difference initial value problem and a hybrid fractional sequential sum-difference initial value problem. The existence results of these two problems are proved by using the hybrid fixed point theorem for three operators in a Banach algebra and the generalized Krasnoselskii’s fixed point theorem, respectively.

We are concerned with the following nonlinear three-point fractional boundary value problem:D0+αut+λatft,ut=0,0<t<1,u0=0, andu1=βuη, where1<α≤2,0<β<1,0<η<1,D0+αis the standard Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative,at>0is continuous for0≤t≤1, andf≥0is continuous on0,1×0,∞. By using Krasnoesel'skii's fixed-point theorem and the corresponding Green function, we obtain some results for the existence of positive solutions. At the end of this paper, we give an example to illustrate our main results.

In this paper, we propose sequential fractional delta-nabla sum-difference equations with nonlocal fractional delta-nabla sum boundary conditions. The Banach contraction principle and the Schauder’s fixed point theorem are used to prove the existence and uniqueness results of the problem. The different orders in one fractional delta differences, one fractional nabla differences, two fractional delta sum, and two fractional nabla sum are considered. Finally, we present an illustrative example.
