This paper presents a suboptimal approach for resource allocation of massive MIMO-OFDMA systems for high-speed train (HST) applications. An optimization problem is formulated to alleviate the severe Doppler effect and maximize the energy efficiency (EE) of the system. We propose to decouple the problem between the allocations of antennas, subcarriers, and transmit powers and solve the problem by carrying out the allocations separately and iteratively in an alternating manner. Fast convergence can be achieved for the proposed approach within only several iterations. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is superior to existing techniques in terms of system EE and throughput in different system configurations of HST applications.

In this paper, we consider the resource allocation problem to maximize the minimum (max–min) user’s secure energy efficiency (SEE) in downlink massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems with simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT). First, transmission power and power splitting ratio are designed to achieve the max–min user’s SEE subject to harvested energy threshold, the constraints of transmission power, and power splitting ratio. Secondly, the optimization problem is non-convex and very difficult to tackle. In order to solve the optimization problem, we converted to a series of parameter optimization subproblems by fractional programming. Then, we employ the first-order Taylor expansion and successive convex approximation (SCA) method to solve parameter optimization problems. Next, a secure energy-efficient resource allocation (SERA) algorithm with the bisection method is proposed to find the max–min SEE of the system. Finally, simulation results show the effectiveness and superiority of the SERA algorithm.

Energy efficiency (EE) capacity analysis of the chunk-based resource allocation is presented by considering the minimum spectrum efficiency (SE) constraint in downlink multiuser orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. Considering the minimum SE requirement, an optimization problem to maximize EE with limited transmit power is formulated over frequency selective channels. Based on this model, a low-complexity energy efficient resource allocation is proposed. The effects of system parameters, such as the average channel gain-to-noise ratio (CNR) and the number of subcarriers per chunk, are evaluated. Numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme for balancing the EE and SE.
