Avulsion fracture of the tibial tuberosity is an infrequent injury in adolescents and an extremely rare occurrence in adults. We describe the case of an 86-year-old gentleman presenting after a fall, sustaining injury to the left knee. Radiographs of the left knee showed avulsion fracture of the tibial tuberosity. The purpose of this study was to present a rare case of tibial tuberosity avulsion fracture in an adult, the treatment performed, and the challenges faced. The case is discussed with the review of the literature.

A complete traumatic talus dislocation is an exceedingly rare injury pattern. A case of reimplantation of an open traumatic complete intact talus dislocation and distal fibula fracture following a motor vehicle accident is reported. A review of the literature and emergency medicine management recommendations follows.

Abstract Osteoid osteoma is a rare occurrence in the hand, especially in children. We report here a rare case of a 12-year-old boy complaining of growing painful swelling of the middle phalanx of the third finger that had started 3 months earlier and had not responded to anti-inflammatory medication. Based on the clinical findings and plain radiographs, osteomyelitis or Ewing’s sarcoma was suspected. However, MRI revealed the typical characteristics of osteoid osteoma. The lesion was excised, and the histological examination confirmed the diagnosis. We make a brief review of the literature concerning this uncommon localization and discuss the differential diagnosis and treatment modalities.

Background: In Osgood Schlatter Disease, despite being a self-limiting disease during adolescence, various complications of Osgood Schlatter Disease could also present in adulthood. An uncommon injury pattern requires surgical treatment. This study aims to understand the implementation of surgery in managing complications case of Osgood Schlatter Disease.Case Report: We present a rare case of complete patellar tendon rupture and tibial tuberosity avulsion fracture following a low-energy motor vehicle accident landing on his left knee in a 42 years old active male, who later discovered is having a pre-existing Osgood Schlatter Disease. This patient is treated with an open surgery fixating the tibial tuberosity using a single lag screw and eight tension wires, followed by primary repair of the patellar tendon, including its retinaculum.Discussion: Weakened structure from pre-existing Osgood Schlatter lesion may cause uncommon and profound injury pattern that requires surgical treatment. Conservative treatment no longer has a place in this case. The various surgical treatment methods have been reported; however, surgical modification technique is performed accordingly due to the complicated case presentation.Conclusion: Surgical treatment is the most suitable treatment option in managing this uncommon injury pattern complication of Osgood Schlatter Disease.

The udder is a very important organ and has economic value in dairy cattle. Though highly vulnerable to various disease conditions, e.g. mastitis, congenital anomalies in the udder are of rare occurrence (Dandale et al., 2013). Congenital abnormalities of the mammary system in cows comprise absence of teats, glands, supernumerary teats and imperforate teats. Absence of teat is extremely rare, but isolated cases in which the teats were only represented by slight eminences have been met with (O’ Connor, 1980). Athelia was reported in buffaloes by Sailendra and Sandhya (1998) and Vidyasagar (2009) and in a Japanese black heifer by Ghanem et al. (2011). In the present paper, a rare case of athelia in a Jersey crossbred cow and its therapeutic management by permanent cessation of lactation is reported.
