The Internet of things (IoT) has changed the information transmission mode of people, things, and services. The new functional experience will bring users an efficient, convenient, and safe lifestyle. Virtual reality (VR) technology, also known as spiritual environment technology, is a new stage of the development of computer and information technology. It is an important auxiliary tool in the fields of R & D, production, education, and so on. As one of the six most famous kilns in the Tang Dynasty (618–907 BC), Shouzhou kiln plays an important role in the history of ceramics in China and even in the world. However, due to the long history, incomplete site preservation, fragile ceramic materials, and lack of effective promotion and publicity, it has been difficult to make a breakthrough in the protection and development of Shouzhou kiln. VR technology makes comprehensive use of computer software and hardware, breaks the barrier between virtual and reality, and provides a new idea for the protection and development of Shouzhou kiln. On the basis of fully combing the principle of VR technology and analyzing the application possibility of VR technology, firstly, focusing on the history and from the perspective of archaeological research of Shouzhou kiln, this paper discusses how to use VR technology to realize the restoration of ancient kiln sites, ancient ceramics, ancient ceramics technology, and relevant data preservation of Shouzhou kiln. Secondly, focusing on the present, this paper discusses the application of VR technology and Internet of things technology in Shouzhou kiln ceramic product design, Shouzhou kiln process technology improvement, Shouzhou kiln ceramic product display, and Shouzhou kiln marketing. Finally, focusing on the future, this paper discusses the application prospect of VR technology in the inheritance of Shouzhou kiln technology and the promotion of Shouzhou kiln ceramic culture. It is expected to explore feasible paths and methods for the protection, inheritance, and development of ancient ceramic culture in China and even the world through the discussion of VR technology involved in the protection and development of Shouzhou kiln.

Now-a-days Internet of Things is deployed almost in every application regarding smart cities and have been initiated to develop all over the world. Smart Devices are being geared up to ease human life. Due to the growth in Internet of Things technology, smart cities are been developedwith this technology to work with the issues of public as well as private. The aim of the article is to enhance a solution to the problems in the smart cities with latest IoT architecture, protocols and services. With the technical support of IoT, using low power Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) which is connected to transfer the data from M2M applications. In addition to the IoT, intelligent features are integrated with the help of Computer vision makes the technology more flexible. The goal of this article is to engrave the services to challenge the real time environment with low power synthesis technique. Only then, the smart city features are improved and serves the mankind with IoT technology.

Purpose – This column aims to explore how the concept of the “Internet of Things” technology will impact everyday life, and examine its implications for libraries. The Internet serves as the foundation for a staggering array of connections between humans and computers all over the world. As a conceptual model, the “Internet of Things” (IOT) begs the question, what if the Internet expanded beyond humans and computers to include the other everyday objects that surround us? Design/methodology/approach – This column will explore how this technology might impact everyday life, and examine this technology’s implications for libraries. Findings – Companies of all kinds, including Intel, Microsoft, AT & T and DHL are all investing in the IOT, citing a variety of reports that estimate tremendous future growth. For example, a recent report by Business Insider predicts that by 2019, the IOT will be the largest device market in the world (overshadowing desktop computers and mobile devices combined) and create $1.7 trillion in new value, affecting business, homes, transportation, health care and government operations . Originality/value – Almost regardless of the success or failure of any given product, the concept of the IOT is a model that is affecting investors and businesses of all types, and in turn affecting technologies that are being developed today. By better understanding the IOT, librarians can therefore be better positioned to respond to developments as they emerge.

Be it industry or academia, Internet of the Things (IoT) has become buzzword today. Everyone is expecting a system of gadgets controlled by web without human intervention. The concept has opened many possibilities and a fear of failure too. All over the world the research is going on and few organizations have already started implementing the concept at a small level. But the available research is still immature and undirectional. The area is very young, the research too. Hence there is a need to develop an IoT architecture which is universally acceptable by various IoT objects as well as server.  To facilitate with the need, the paper presents a novel IOT architecture. In addition, the interaction of IoTobjects with each other has been discussed alongwith connection of a server’s infrastructure with another server’s infrastructure through API gateway.
