Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology plays a pivotal role in the process of building process informatization. In the context of extensive promotion by all parties, how to effectively evaluate the promotion value of countries and enterprises is particularly important. In order to better analyze the promotion trend of the BIM technology diffusion system in China, a noncooperative evolutionary game model of BIM technology diffusion between the government and enterprises is constructed, and Vensim PLE software is used for simulation analysis in this paper. The model includes government subsidy cost and penalty, social benefit and loss, and income payment matrix of BIM technology input income and cost. The results show that enterprises need not only direct cost subsidy from the government but also indirect cost subsidy in the process of BIM technology diffusion. Appropriate government penalties can effectively promote the initiative of enterprises to adopt BIM technology; BIM has a great impact on the input income and cost of enterprises. In view of this, it is suggested that the first task for enterprises to promote the diffusion of BIM technology is to clarify the definition of BIM's high investment cost and do a good financial impact analysis.

<p align="center"><strong>Abstrak</strong></p><p> </p><p>Salah satu industri yang memfokuskan pada pengembangan infrastruktur adalah industri <em>Architecture Engineering and Construction</em> (AEC). Penggunaan berbagai teknologi dan aplikasi <em>Building Information Modeling</em> (BIM) pada sektor konstruksi semakin meningkat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kesiapan pelaku AEC khususnya konsultan perencana dalam proses adopsi BIM. Penelitian ini menggunakan survei kuesioner dengan mengumpulkan data dari 96 responden pada perusahaan konsultan di Palembang. Dari hasil analisa didapat bahwa hampir semua responden telah mengetahui istilah BIM dan tingkat kesiapan dalam mengadopsi BIM dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 3,187 yang berarti bahwa kesiapan konsultan perencana di Kota Palembang dinyatakan cukup siap dalam mengadopsi BIM. Adapun 3 hambatan utama dalam mengadopsi BIM menurut penelitian ini yaitu tingginya biaya investasi awal; terlalu nyaman dengan budaya kerja lama; dan kurangnya pengetahuan mendalam terkait BIM, oleh karena itu penggunaan BIM pada industri konstruksi harus ditingkatkan dengan penguatan regulasi oleh pemerintah. Peranan kesadaran perusahaan dan individu di dalamnya serta ketegasan pemerintah  akan menentukan tingkat perkembangan BIM.</p><p class="11daftarpustaka"> </p><p>Kata kunci: Adopsi, digitalisasi, Building Information Modeling, AEC</p><p> </p><p align="center"><strong> </strong></p><p align="center"><strong>Abstract</strong></p><p> </p><p class="BodyAbstract">One of the industries focusing on infrastructure development is Architecture Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry. The use of technology and Building Information Modeling (BIM) in construction sector has been widely increased. This research aimed to identify the readiness level of design consultants on BIM adoption. This research used a questionnaire survey to collect data from 96 respondents of consultant firms in Palembang. Based on the analysis, it was found that almost all respondents were already familiar with BIM term and the level of readiness in adopting BIM had a mean average value of 3.187, indicating that the respondents were quite ready in adopting BIM. The three main barriers in adopting werethe high investment cost; being too comfortable with the conventional work culture; and lack of knowledge about BIM. Therefore, the use of BIM in the construction industry must be increased by strengthening regulations conducted by the government. The emerging of new Information Communication Technology (ICT) technology namely Building Information Modeling been proven benefits toward construction industry. As a result, the list of BIM software available in the market is keep increasing in recent years. This has led to the selection problem among construction companies. Moreover, the selection BIM software also required high investment in term of software, hard ware and training expenses. These aforementioned issues have increased the complexities of decision process and the need of decision aid in BIM software selection. Thus, this paper has introduced a new approach in MCDMDSS web development by utilization of Web 2.0 application. The rapid development of Information technology has highly benefit to the development of web based DSS. The design and validation architecture of a web base DSS called topsis4BIM for Building Information Modeling (BIM) is presented.

PurposeThe government plays a critical role in driving building information modeling (BIM) implementation. The purpose of this study is to investigate the government efforts for driving BIM implementation in three benchmark countries, namely, Singapore, the UK and the US, so as to develop appropriate roadmaps for increasing BIM implementations in other countries.Design/methodology/approachThis study performs a review on the government efforts and roles in BIM implementation in three benchmark countries, namely, Singapore, the UK and the US.FindingsThrough cross comparison with existing literature, it is found that Singapore and the UK adopt a government-driven approach and a phase-by-phase development pattern is observed. The first phase focuses on the building sector to rapidly increase the use of BIM and the government generally plays the role of an initiator. In the second phase, BIM is expanded to other implementation areas, e.g. smart city. The importance of the initiator role decreases and more attention is paid to supporting roles such as researcher, educator and regulator. In contrast, an industry-driven approach is adopted in the US. The main role of the government is that of a regulator, with research institutions actively supporting the BIM implementation.Research limitations/implicationsGeneral roadmaps of the two mandating approaches are presented. The results can provide a useful reference for countries and regions that intend to develop roadmaps to increase their BIM maturity level and enhance readiness to accept and implement BIM.Originality/valueThis study is one of the first studies that investigate the step-by-step roadmaps for implementing BIM from the perspective of changing government roles.

This study involves with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and exploring the reasons behind the slow speed of implementing this method in the construction industry in developing countries in general and Jordan in specific. The aim of the research was achieved through a survey which considered 15 barrier factors and 13 driving factors. The study revealed that the level of BIM implementation in construction projects is generally low. In addition, the significant barriers affecting the adoption of BIM are lack of qualified staff to operate the software, difficulty learning BIM, the existing system fulfils the need, resistance to change and uncertainties concerning return on investment of BIM. Also, the study pointed out the most important factors that could help implementing BIM in the Jordanian construction industry. These are providing BIM training program, introducing BIM in the university curriculum and providing the efforts by the government to push implementation of BIM in their projects. Finally, the paper presented some recommendations if followed the level of (BIM) implementation in this country may be improved.

Abstract The Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) Industry in Colombia is starting to implement Building Information Modeling (BIM) in their projects but in a much unorganized way. This issue could be attributed to a lack of unique and public BIM standards and guidelines for the implementation along with the inexistent support to the industry from the Government on the road to implementation. The BIM Execution Plan (BEP) is a procedural process that outlines the project’s overall vision with implementation details for the project team to follow throughout the project. In this study, the authors reviewed 20 BEPs searching for the presence of some identified and analyzed subcomponents to determine which documents were more robust. By performing a 27-question survey to understand how different BIM tools affect a BIM implementation, we investigated about the experience of some companies in the industry with five in depth interviews conducted to AEC Colombian professionals. Finally, a presentation of a BEP template that uses the analyzed documents and the identified problems in the interviews, along with an explanation of how was the use of information obtained to develop the new BEP template. Conclusions and recommendations are provided to enhance the BIM implementation in Colombia along with the template and the support files that can also help to develop and integrate future BIM process tools methodologies. Resumen La industria de Arquitectura, Ingeniería y Construcción (AEC) en Colombia está empezando a implementar Building Information Modeling (BIM) en sus proyectos, pero de una manera muy desorganizada. Este problema podría atribuirse a la falta de normas y pautas de carácter unificado y público para la implementación de BIM junto con el apoyo inexistente a la industria por parte del gobierno en el camino hacia dicha implementación. El Plan de ejecución BIM (BEP) es un procedimiento enmarcado en procesos BIM que describe la visión general del proyecto con detalles de implementación para que el equipo siga a lo largo del ciclo de vida del proyecto. En este estudio, los autores revisaron 20 BEPs en busca de la presencia de algunos subcomponentes identificados y analizados para determinar qué documentos eran más robustos. Al realizar una encuesta de 27 preguntas para comprender cómo diferentes herramientas BIM afectan su implementación, investigamos sobre la experiencia de algunas empresas en la industria con cinco entrevistas a profundidad realizadas a profesionales colombianos de AEC. Finalmente, hay una presentación de una plantilla de BEP que se basa en los análisis de los resultados y los problemas identificados en las entrevistas, junto con una explicación de cómo se utilizó la información obtenida para desarrollar la nueva plantilla de BEP. Se presentan conclusiones y recomendaciones para mejorar la implementación de BIM en Colombia, además de una plantilla y los archivos de soporte para que cada empresa que desee desarrollar su propio BEP pueda revisar la información presentada en este documento.

Most governmental projects in Jordan have cost overrun, it rises during the on-going stage to increase the cost and prolong the time of the project. Unfortunately, until this moment, there is no particular management system in Jordan construction industry to minimize cost overrun and variation order adopted by the government. In contrast, global construction industry has witnessed a huge transformation in terms of the use of digital technologies, particularly Building Information Modeling (BIM) which is a revolutionary digital technology and operation that is reshaping the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry. approach and objectives causes before of this paper are firstly to review the factors contributing to variation orders in governmental road projects in Jordan, secondly, to propose a BIM design applications strategy to minimize variation orders, to achieve the objectives a quantitative approach was followed by distributing a questionnaire, then the data was analyzed statistically using relative importance index, the results were as follow. Our findings suggests that the most important factors causing change orders were as follow: Inaccurate quantity take-off (0.66); Labours or material not meeting the specifications (0.63); Logistic delays (0.60); Internal politics (0.566); and the equipment and tools are not available (0.55). The results also indicate that Contract Parties, Consultant, Contractor and Other Variations had significant positive effects on V. O, whereas the effects of BIM Design Applications, Facility Operations Simulation, Exploration Design Scenarios, BIM Design Detection, (BIM Quantity Take-off and Cost Estimation) had a passive impact on V.O. Lastly, BIM has obtained a great reputability by enhancing the productivity in construction society, minimizing the total cost of the projects, and many other benefits.

The need for digitization of industries' production process has been given high attention in the 21st century. This is due to the upsurge in technology in the present age. Industries which include manufacturing, telecommunication and aviation among others have set the pace for others to follow in the use of digital tools in their production process. Therefore, this study is aimed at examining the awareness and level of uptake of a digital tool like Building Information Modeling (BIM) in the management of construction project and the challenges limiting its use within the built environment. The study adopted a survey method by randomly selecting 120 construction practitioners in construction firms operating in Lagos state Nigeria. Likewise, 120 structured questionnaires were distributed to the targeted respondents, however, 100 questionnaires were retrieved. The data collected from the survey were processed using Mean item score, percentage, and relative importance index. Findings garnered from the study revealed that construction organization awareness of the BIM tool is very high, however, its uptake in the construction industry is not encouraging. It further revealed that the driving factor in encouraging the BIM adoption cut across the government, the construction industry and the clients. In conclusion, the study recommends that the trio should provide an adequate support structure and push for BIM implementation in construction project delivery.

The objective of the undertaken study is to assess the application of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and evaluate the quality of information on construction projects. The paper also focuses on examining the design information quality on construction projects by applying BIM based on perceived variables, for instance, improve workflow, improve collaboration, design visualization, lower cost, environmental impact analysis, and variations. The first objective was to evaluate the impact of building information modeling on perceived variables such as improve workflow, improve collaboration, design visualization, lower cost, environmental impact analysis, and variations. We also evaluated the impact of these six constitutes of BIM, for instance, improve workflow, improve collaboration, design visualization, lower cost, environmental impact analysis, and variations on reducing design information problem. Finally, we have evaluated the mediating impact of improve workflow, improve collaboration, design visualization, lower cost, environmental impact analysis, and variations between building information modeling and reducing design information problems. In the last, we also examined the impact of BIM on reducing design information problems. In this context, the closed-ended five-point Likert scale adapted questionnaire was distributed among construction professionals, and data were analyzed through structural equation modeling and multivariate techniques using statistical software. The findings demonstrated that BIM has a significant & positive impact on its six constitutes. Additionally, we examined these constitutes such as improve workflow, improve collaboration, design visualization, lower cost, environmental impact analysis, and variations have a significant impact on reducing design information problems. The results also significantly contributed to the fact that BIM has a significant impact on reducing design information problems, ultimately playing a pivotal role in assessing design information quality on projects.
