An autosampler/injector commutator for flow injection analysis (FIA) was constructed with electronic components of used equipments. The apparatus is controlled by commercially available multifunctional interface (PCL711B) connected to a personal computer, and the software was written in Visual Basic language. The system was applied to water analysis and it presented satisfactory results. The low cost and simplicity are the principal characteristics of the autosampler/injector commutator.

In order to test the performance of the Automated Mechanical Transmission (AMT) system with low cost, a half-real simulating experimental system of the automotive power system is developed. In which, the gearbox is real part, a small inertia flywheel is used to simulate the inertia of the real automotive. So a low power motor whose torque is controlled by a transducer is adopted to simulate the engine, a low power magnetic powder brake is used to replace the high-priced dynamometer. The control software is programmed using visual basic language. Experimental results show that the performance of the AMT system could be validated effectively by this system

Abstract Owing to the existence of the cone angle, the size of a conical counter-rotating twin screw continuously changes along the axis, so it is not easy to model using SolidWorks. In this study, the parametric design of the modeling process is completed based on the Visual Basic language and a program-driven method. Finally, the SolidWorks program plug-in and user interface are developed to complete the automatic generation of the three-dimensional model of a conical counter-rotating twin screw.

Data for thermal inactivation of working suspension of Enterococcus faecium in model solutions were acquired and used to develop a mathematical model for thermal inactivation of the bacterium. The model is valid within the water activity range 0.97 to 0.99; pH range 6.0 to 7.6; temperature range 60°C to 65°C, and was determined for the microorganism concentration ranges of 102 per ml to 108 per ml of the model inactivation solution. An Excel procedure was developed in Visual Basic language which enables the calculation of the final concentration of the microorganism from the input data for pH, aw, logN0, temperature, and holding time of the treatment. The proposed model was verified in experiments using cow and human milks. With cow milk, the correspondence between the experimental and the predicted data is highly satisfactory. With human milk, the model predicts a smaller effect of heating than is that manifested experimentally.

This research, has as its main purpose to have developed a tool of free use available to students, educators and professionals through a software that facilitates the teaching and learning process. This one was programmed with the Visual Basic language (VB), being a tool of effective and high-performance software development technologies from Microsoft. It will be able to perform various analyses of mechanical systems in transmissions, and its purpose allows the user to calculate, understand and compare the analyzes in an effective and orderly way to implement them at convenience. The contributions of the project can be granted mostly to the educational and work environment, being destined to apply engineering in pedagogical and labor sectors. The project is oriented to the needs of knowing characteristics of a mechanical system to implement its optimal functioning through this software. All this is justified from the obtaining of knowledge in the academic trainingand a rigorous investigation of mechanical systems, programming and design, the research considers information coming from professors of the university, web forums and magazines.
