Moving object detection and tracking (MODT) is the major challenging issue in computer vision, which plays a vital role in many applications like robotics, surveillance, navigation systems, militaries, environmental monitoring etc. There are several existing techniques, which has been used to detect and track the moving object in Surveillance system. Therefore it is necessary to develop new algorithm or modified algorithm which is robust to work in both day and night time. In this paper, modified BGS technique is proposed. The video is first converted to number of frames, then these frame are applied to modified background subtraction technique with adaptive threshold which gives detected object. Kalman filter technique is used for tracking the detected object. The experimental results shows this proposed method can efficiently and correctly detect and track the moving objects with less processing time which is compared with existing techniques.

<p><strong>Abstract.</strong> Background subtraction-based techniques of moving object detection are very common in computer vision programs. Each technique of background subtraction employs image thresholding algorithms. Different thresholding methods generate varying threshold values that provide dissimilar moving object detection results. A majority of background subtraction techniques use grey images which reduce the computational cost but statistics-based image thresholding methods do not consider the spatial distribution of pixels. In this study, authors have developed a background subtraction technique using Lab colour space and used spatial correlations for image thresholding. Four thresholding methods using spatial correlation are developed by computing the difference between opposite colour pairs of background and foreground frames. Out of 9 indoor and outdoor scenes, the object is detected successfully in 7 scenes whereas existing background subtraction technique using grey images with commonly used thresholding methods detected moving objects in 1–5 scenes. Shape and boundaries of detected objects are also better defined using the developed technique.</p>


Detection And Tracking Of Multiple Moving Objects From A Sequence Of Video Frame And Obtaining Visual Records Of Objects Play An Important Role In The Video Surveillance Systems. Transform And Filtering Technique Designed For Video Pattern Matching And Moving Object Detection, Failed To Handle Large Number Of Objects In Video Frame And Further Needs To Be Optimized. Several Existing Methods Perform Detection And Tracking Of Moving Objects. However, The Performance Efficiency Of The Existing Methods Needs To Be Optimized To Achieve More Robust And Reliable Detection And Tracking Of Moving Objects. In Order To Improve The Pattern Matching Accuracy, A Quantized Kalman Filter-Based Pattern Matching (Qkf-Pm) Technique Is Proposed For Detecting And Tracking Of Moving Objects. The Present Phase Includes Three Functionalities: Top-Down Approach, Kernel Pattern Segment Function And Kalman Filtering. First, The Top-Down Approach Based On Kalman Filtering (Kf) Technique Is Performed To Detect The Chromatic Shadows Of Objects. Next, Kernel Pattern Segment Function Creates The Seed Points For Detecting Moving Object Pattern. Finally, Object Tracking Is Performed Using The Proposed Quantized Kalman Filter Based On The Center Of Seed Point Affinity Feature Values Are Used To Track The Moving Objects In A Particular Region Using The Minimum Bounding Box Approach. Experimental Results Reveals That The Proposed Qkf-Pm Technique Achieves Better Performance In Terms Of True Detection Rate, Pattern Matching Accuracy, Pattern Matching Time, And Object Tracking Accuracy With Respect To The Number Of Video Frames Per Second.

This paper describes computer vision algorithms for detection, identification, and tracking of moving objects in a video file. The problem of multiple object tracking can be divided into two parts; detecting moving objects in each frame and associating the detections corresponding to the same object over time. The detection of moving objects uses a background subtraction algorithm based on Gaussian mixture models. The motion of each track is estimated by a Kalman filter. The video tracking algorithm was successfully tested using the BIWI walking pedestrians datasets [. The experimental results show that system can operate in real time and successfully detect, track and identify multiple targets in the presence of partial occlusion.

With the advent in technology, security and authentication has become the main aspect in computer vision approach. Moving object detection is an efficient system with the goal of preserving the perceptible and principal source in a group. Surveillance is one of the most crucial requirements and carried out to monitor various kinds of activities. The detection and tracking of moving objects are the fundamental concept that comes under the surveillance systems. Moving object recognition is challenging approach in the field of digital image processing. Moving object detection relies on few of the applications which are Human Machine Interaction (HMI), Safety and video Surveillance, Augmented Realism, Transportation Monitoring on Roads, Medical Imaging etc. The main goal of this research is the detection and tracking moving object. In proposed approach, based on the pre-processing method in which there is extraction of the frames with reduction of dimension. It applies the morphological methods to clean the foreground image in the moving objects and texture based feature extract using component analysis method. After that, design a novel method which is optimized multilayer perceptron neural network. It used the optimized layers based on the Pbest and Gbest particle position in the objects. It finds the fitness values which is binary values (x_update, y_update) of swarm or object positions. Method and output achieved final frame creation of the moving objects in the video using BLOB ANALYSER In this research , an application is designed using MATLAB VERSION 2016a In activation function to re-filter the given input and final output calculated with the help of pre-defined sigmoid. In proposed methods to find the clear detection and tracking in the given dataset MOT, FOOTBALL, INDOOR and OUTDOOR datasets. To improve the detection accuracy rate, recall rate and reduce the error rates, False Positive and Negative rate and compare with the various classifiers such as KNN, MLPNN and J48 decision Tree.

A method of abnormal motion detection for intelligent video surveillance is presented, which includes object intrusion detection, object overlong stay detection and object overpopulation detection. Background subtraction algorithm is used to detect moving objects in video streams. Kalman filter is applied for object tracking. By the construction of relation matrix, the tracking process is divided into five statuses for prediction and estimation, which are object disappearing, object separating, new object appearing, object sheltering and object matching. The object parameters and predictive information in the next frame which is used to track moving objects is established by Kalman filter. Then, three types of abnormal motion detection are implemented. The relative position of alarm area or guard line with the rectangle boxes of the moving objects is used to detect whether the object is invading. The existing time of the moving objects in monitor area is counted to detect whether the object is staying too long. Moving objects in the monitor area are classified and counted to detect whether the objects are too much. Alarm will be triggered when abnormal motion detection as defined is detected in the monitor area.

The key of background subtraction which is widely used in moving object detecting is to set up and update the background model. This paper presents a block background subtraction method based on ViBe, using the spatial correlation and time continuity of the video sequence. Set up the video sequence background model firstly. Then, update the background model through block processing. Finally employ the difference between the current frame and background model to extract moving objects.

Purpose Developing algorithms for automated detection and tracking of multiple objects is one challenge in the field of object tracking. Especially in a traffic video monitoring system, vehicle detection is an essential and challenging task. In the previous studies, many vehicle detection methods have been presented. These proposed approaches mostly used either motion information or characteristic information to detect vehicles. Although these methods are effective in detecting vehicles, their detection accuracy still needs to be improved. Moreover, the headlights and windshields, which are used as the vehicle features for detection in these methods, are easily obscured in some traffic conditions. The paper aims to discuss these issues. Design/methodology/approach First, each frame will be captured from a video sequence and then the background subtraction is performed by using the Mixture-of-Gaussians background model. Next, the Shi-Tomasi corner detection method is employed to extract the feature points from objects of interest in each foreground scene and the hierarchical clustering approach is then applied to cluster and form them into feature blocks. These feature blocks will be used to track the moving objects frame by frame. Findings Using the proposed method, it is possible to detect the vehicles in both day-time and night-time scenarios with a 95 percent accuracy rate and can cope with irrelevant movement (waving trees), which has to be deemed as background. In addition, the proposed method is able to deal with different vehicle shapes such as cars, vans, and motorcycles. Originality/value This paper presents a hierarchical clustering of features approach for multiple vehicles tracking in traffic environments to improve the capability of detection and tracking in case that the vehicle features are obscured in some traffic conditions.


Video surveillance is a process of analyzing video sequences. It involves analysis, interpretation of object behaviors, as well as object detection and tracking. Video processing plays an important role in the industry and computer vision such as online monitoring of assembly processes, video surveillance security system, medical treatment, robot navigation and military, etc. Detection and tracking of human objects is one of the important studies in improving the ability of the surveillance system. The aim of this research work is to measure and analyze the application of background subtraction method and block matching algorithm to trace object movements through video-based. This research applies background subtraction method to detect moving object, assisted with block matching algorithm which aims to get good results on objects that have been detected. Performance evaluation is carried out to determine the various parameters. In this paper author design and develop a novel algorithm for moving object tracking in video surveillance also compares and analyse existing algorithms for moving object tracking. Author main aim to design and develop an algorithm for moving object tracking to handle occlusion and complex object shapes.
