A taxonomic review of Rhaponticoides in Iran is based on morphological characters of the specimens from the authors’ expeditions and other herbarium collections. Rhaponticoides lachnopus, R. schmidii, R. sect. Iranicae and R. sect. Ruthenicae are proposed as new combinations. Full description for the genus Rhaponticoides and R. sect. Iranicae and R. sect. Ruthenicae are presented for the first time here. Three names, R. lachnopus, R. ruthenica and its synonym, are typified. A synopsis with recognized sections and species, relevant synonyms, type citations, lists of specimens examined and an identification key are provided for the genus Rhaponticoides in Iran. In addition, some notes about ecology and habitat of Rhaponticoides especially in Iran are given. Finally, the geographical distribution of all the 4 species recognized in Iran is presented and mapped.

Five Trogloneta species from Southwest China and Japan are reviewed that two new combinations and a new synonymy are proposed in the current paper: T.nojimai (Ono, 2010), comb. n. is transferred from Mysmena, T.yunnanense (Song & Zhu, 1994), comb. n. (= T.denticocleari Lin & Li, 2008, syn. n.) is transferred from Pholcomma of the Theridiidae, T.speciosum Lin & Li, 2008, T.uncata Lin & Li, 2013, and T.yuensis Lin & Li, 2013. The female of T.yuensis is described for the first time. An identification key and diagnoses are provided for these species, as well as new photographs or illustrations of the genital organs and habitus of T.yuensis and T.yunnanense.

Taxonomic notes are presented on the former Ascalaphidae (owlflies), now subfamily Ascalaphinae of the family Myrmeleontidae from Pakistan. An updated checklist of new records is provided that accounts for all known 15 genera and 22 species from Pakistan, excluding the species of the tribe Palparini. Geographical distribution maps and an updated identification key to all known genera and species from Pakistan are also given. We synonymized two monotypic genera, Horischema Mészáros & Ábrahám, 2003 and Perissoschema Mészáros & Ábrahám, 2003 both as junior synonyms of Ogcogaster Westwood, 1847 based on very similar male genitalia and external morphological characters. Moreover, Perissoschema evae Mészáros & Ábrahám, 2003 is treated as a junior synonym of Ogcogaster segmentator Westwood, 1847. We recorded three genera for the first time from Pakistan, i.e., Acheron Lefèbvre, 1842, Glyptobasis McLachlan, 1873, and Suphalomitus van der Weele, 1909. To more completely resolve the generic or specific status of those poorly known species from Pakistan, broader sampling throughout the country is needed.

Present paper contains the description of 8 new genera, separated from Craniophora (Harmandicrania, Graesericrania, Eurypterocrania, Turnerinycta, Fascionycta, Berionycta, Draudtinycta and Sinonycta gen. n.) and 13 new species (Harmandicrania barnandi, H. tathabayandi, H. brunneocinerea, H. sinoandi, H. peninsularis, H. nipponica, Berionycta limbata, B. ponticamima, B. nigra, B. orbicularis, B. behouneki, B. berioi and B. beckroberti spp. n.). Based on external and genital morphology and characters of the abdominal segments the taxonomic context of the genus Craniophora was reduced, the genus Megalonycta was extended. 22 new combinations and 11 new states were introduced. 8 lectotypes and 4 neotypes were designated. With 6 plates of morphological characters and 231 figures in 33 plates. The male and female last abdominal segments of most of the species are figured for the first time.

A taxonomic monograph of a re-circumscribed Leandra sect. Leandra is presented. The new circumscription is based on a previous phylogenetic hypothesis, and diagnostic morphological characters are discussed. Four new combinations to Leandra are proposed, one from Clidemia (L. capilliflora) and three from Ossaea (L. capitata, L. cogniauxii and L. loligomorpha). Additionally, eight species are treated as synonyms for the first time, and 15 lectotypes are designated. A review of the 17 recognized species, including descriptions, synonymy, illustrations and distribution maps, is provided. This work also includes an overview of general morphology, leaf and flower anatomy, phenology and geographical distribution. Species with a history of taxonomic problems and/or with distinctive morphotypes are further investigated with morphometrics tools.

Cabomba schwartzii was described by Rataj in 1977. The species discovered in the Brazilian Amazon was said to differ from other Cabomba species in having two sepals, two petals and a lobate petal base. According to the 1991 study of Ørgaard, C. schwartzii is similar to C. aquatica in other morphological characters (C. aquatica has flowers with three sepals and three petals) and since variation in number of floral parts is common in the genus, Ørgaard synonymized both species. After an analysis of C. schwartzii type material, other herbarium collections and location of four populations (two with C. schwartzii characteristics and two with C. aquatica characteristics), we conducted an integrated morphological and genetic study to evaluate whether or not C. schwartzii is a distinct species from C. aquatica. The results reveal the species to be distinct from each other and therefore C. schwartzii should be reestablished. The floral formula for C. schwartzii is K2 C2 A2+2 G1, versus K3 C3 A3+3 G2 for C. aquatica. A detailed species description and the geographical distribution of C. schwartzii are presented with a dichotomous key to distinguish both species, together with illustrations.

An updated revision of Afrotropical Dryinidae is presented. Nine subfamilies, 23 genera and 430 species (including 60 new species) are treated. Six new species-level synonymies and three new combinations are proposed. Descriptions, geographic distribution, known hosts, natural enemies and type material of each species are presented, together with illustrations of the main morphological characters and keys to the subfamilies, genera and species. A taxonomic synopsis of the genus Rhaponticoides is presented. Rhaponticoides kultiassovii, R. lasiopoda, R. phyllopoda, R. androssovii, R. gontscharovii, R. alaica, R. modesti, R. ruthenica var. bipinnatifida, R. sect. Vicentinae, R. sect. Africanae, R. sect. Turkestanicae and R. sect. Aralocaspicae are proposed as new combinations. Full description for R. sect. Vicentinae, R. sect. Africanae, R. sect. Turkestanicae and R. sect. Aralocaspicae and a key for all sections are presented for the first time here. My previous descriptions of R. sect. Iranicae and R. sect. Ruthenicae are revised. Two names, R. kultiassovii and R. lasiopoda, are typified. In addition, type details, full descriptions, morphological comparisons, distribution and habitat of transferred taxa are given. Finally, a new list of species of the genus Rhaponticoides with their heterotypic synonyms, geographical distributions and chromosome numbers is provided.

The genus Mohrigia Menzel, 1995 from China is reviewed and 20 species are recognized. Among them, nine new species, M. angusta sp. nov., M. cylindrata sp. nov., M. inflata sp. nov., M. globulosa sp. nov., M. notolobos sp. nov., M. ovoidea sp. nov., M. scrobiculata sp. nov., M. subrhynchophysa sp. nov., M. truncatula sp. nov., are described with detailed illustrations, and one described species, M. hippai Menzel, 1995 is reported for the first time from China. Lycoriella longirostris Yang, Zhang & Yang, 1995 is recognized as new synonym of M. megalocornuta (Mohrig & Menzel, 1992). In addition, M. rhynchophysa (Yang, Zhang & Yang, 1993) and M. orthacantha (Yang, Zhang & Yang, 1993) are new combinations. The geographical distribution of the 20 Chinese species is provided, as well as a key to the 21 species of Mohrigia.

The genera Hoplopisthius and Carcinopisthius are reviewed. All the species are redescribed and illustrated and an updated identification key and distributional maps are provided. One new species from New Guinea is described (Hoplopisthius maximus n. sp.) and two new synonymies are proposed: Hoplopisthius celebensis Kolbe, 1892 = H. trichemerus Senna, 1892, n. syn. and Carcinopisthius lamingtoni Damoiseau, 1987 = C. forcipitiger Damoiseau, 1987, n. syn. Phylogenetic analysis using PAUP (maximum parsimony) was performed using 25 morphological characters of adults. This analysis shows the group Hoplopisthius + Carcinopisthius is monophyletic, but Carcinopisthius alone is paraphyletic. Nomenclatural changes at the generic level are made to reconcile nomenclature and phylogeny: Hoplopisthius is preserved; Carcinopisthius is downgraded to the rank of subgenus for the two oriental species H. oberthueri and H. fruhstorferi; and Pseudotaphroderes is resurrected as a third subgenus and includes all New-Guinean and Australian species.

The taxonomy of Catochini, Strobliellini and Acoenoniini, three species-poor tribes of the subfamily Micromyinae, is reviewed on the basis of new material from Europe and Japan. In the Catochini, the genus Anocha Pritchard stat. rev. is revived from synonymy with Catocha Haliday and shown to include eight species, five of which are new: Anocha glabra sp. nov. (Sweden), A. grytsjoenensis sp. nov. (Sweden), A. japonica sp. nov. (Japan), A. moraviensis sp. nov. (Czech Republic), and A. vernalis sp. nov. (Sweden). Anocha minuta (Jaschhof), originally described in the genus Catarete Edwards, and Catocha brachycornis (Spungis & Jaschhof), previously classified in the genus Strobliella Kieffer, tribe Strobliellini, are new combinations. In the Acoenoniini, new species described are Acoenonia baltica sp. nov. (Sweden, Latvia) and A. ulleviensis sp. nov. (Sweden). The female of Groveriella Mamaev (tribe Strobliellini) is described for the first time. Keys are provided to the species of Anocha and Acoenonia Pritchard.
