Brunellia ephemeropetala, a new species discovered in Llanganates National Park, Ecuador is described and illustrated. This species belongs to a group of species that have unifoliate leaves, large fruits and navicular endocarp, in which B. ephemeropetala is distinguished by large and thin stipules, leafy inflorescence and the presence of a petal whorl. For the first time, the presence of petals is recorded in Brunellia, a genus previously considered apetalous.

Macroinvertebrate samples collected during spring-summer 2013 in high mountain rivers of the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park (Pyrenees) contained several Hydraena species (Coleoptera: Hydraenidae) where we found two genera of suctorian ciliates as epibionts: Tokophrya and Discophrya. The individuals of the genus Tokophrya probably belong to species Tokophrya stenostyla, being the first time that this species is observed attached on arthropods. Suctorians of the genus Discophrya were identified as a new species called Discophrya ordesae sp. n. The presence and abundance of epibionts was discussed in the frame of the biological and ecological characteristics of the species of Hydraena where they were found.

Campos Amazônicos National Park is a federal conservation unit that contains part of the largest Cerrado refuge in the southern part of Brazilian Amazonia. Recently, during a survey of aquatic insects in the park, specimens of the caddisfly genus Chimarra were collected. The primary objective of this paper, as a result of this effort, is to describe and illustrate the male adult of a new species in Chimarra (Chimarrita), Chimarra singularis sp. nov., and the immature stages of Chimarra usitatissima Flint 1971. Additionally, the distributions of C.(Chimarrita) akantha Blahnik 1997 and C. (Curgia) jugescens Flint 1998 are extended to the southern part of Amazonas state, and C. (Chimarrita) heppneri Blahnik 1997 is recorded for the first time in northern Brazil.

The present study is based on oribatid mite materials (Acari, Oribatida) collected from Taiwan in 2017. A list of identified taxa, including 109 species/subspecies, 84 genera and 48 families, is presented; of these, 50 species/subspecies, 28 genera and 7 families are recorded for the first time in the fauna of this country, and 8 species and 1 genus are recorded for the first time in the Oriental region. A new species belonging to the genus Lohmannia (Lohmanniidae) is described from soil of the Yangmingshan National Park; L. douhua Ermilov sp. nov. differs from L. pseudoturcmenica Ermilov, 2017 by the broadly phylliform posterior exobothridial setae, narrowly phylliform rostral, epimeral and genital setae and clearly longer notogastral setae. An identification key to the known species of Lohmannia from the Oriental region is presented.

The paper presents the first data on lichen diversity in the Kenozersky National Park (Arkhangelsk Region, Northwest Russia). As a result of the study, 263 species and 1 subspecies of lichens and allied fungi were found in the southern part of the national park. Seventeen lichen species are reported for the first time for Arkhangelsk Region. Biatora albidula is a new species for Northwest European Russia. Two recorded species are included in the Red Data Book of Russian Federation and 7 in the Red Data Book of Arkhangelsk Region. Pycnothelia papillaria can be recommended for inclusion to the Red Data Book of Arkhangelsk Region.

This work includes taxonomic and faunistic data on carabodid mites (Oribatida, Carabodidae) collected from the Montagne d'Ambre National Park, North Madagascar. A new species of the genus Austrocarabodes is described; A. madagascarensis n. sp. differs from A. similis and A. spathulatus by the presence of foveolae on the body surface. Supplementary descriptions of Austrocarabodes parapustulatus Mahunka, 2009 and A. planisetus Mahunka and Mahunka-Papp, 2011 which were originally described from Madagascar, are presented. The species Austrocarabodes spathulatus Mahunka, 1978 is recorded in Madagascar for the first time.

The genus Manoa and the tribe Pseudochironomini are recorded from the Oriental region for the first time. Manoa xianjuensis Qi & Lin sp. n. from Xianju National Park, Zhejiang, China is described and illustrated as adult male and female, the latter associated with the male by standard DNA barcodes. A neighbor joining tree based on available Pseudochironomini DNA barcodes and keys to the adults in Manoa are given.

Four known and a new species of nematodes belonging to the Order Mononchida Jairajpuri, 1969 are described and illustrated from Silent Valley National Park, India. Cobbonchus vulvastriatus n. sp. has 0.92–0.11 mm long body; buccal cavity 25–27×12–13 μm, dorsal tooth comparatively large with its apex at 72–81% from base of stoma; subventral teeth slightly smaller with their apices at 40–41% from the base of stoma; female genital system amphidelphic, 1–3 pre-vulval and 2–4 post-vulval cuticular infoldings present; spicules 1.2–1.4 times the cloacal body diameter long; gubernaculum trough-shaped with distal thickening; lateral guiding pieces small; ventromedian supplements six, spaced; tail conoid, curved ventrad with a strong angular bending, slender portion of tail about twice the anterior part; caudal glands well developed, arranged in tandem, spinneret terminal. Clarkus sheri (Mulvey, 1967) Jairajpuri, 1970; Mylonchulus amurus Khan & Jairajpuri, 1979; Mylonchulus mulveyi Jairajpuri, 1970 and Mylonchulus paraindex Ahmad, Baniyamuddin & Jairajpuri, 2005 are recorded for the first time from this park.

AbstractA list of identified oribatid mites of the family Lohmanniidae (Acari, Oribatida) collected from Cuba, including 4 species from 4 genera, is provided. The genus Heptacarus and species Heptacarus supertrichus Piffl, 1967 are recorded in Cuba for the first time. A new species of Annectacarus is described from leaf litter in forest of Valle de Viñales National Park. Annectacarus vinalesensis sp. n. is morphologically most similar to A. krachan Mahunka, 1995, but the new species differs from the latter by the rostrum with indentation and the presence of six pairs of neotrichal notogastral setae and six pairs of setae on epimere I. An identification key to the known species of Annectacarus in the Neotropical region is given.

Berlandiella Mello-Leitão, 1929 is currently composed of six Neotropical species, of which Berlandiella querencia Lise & Silva, 2011 is known only from female specimens; the other species of the genus were described based on both males and females. In this paper, we describe and illustrate Berlandiella zabelesp. nov., based on a few individuals collected in Sete Cidades National Park, Piracuruca and Brasileira, state of Piauí, Brazil. We illustrate and describe the previously unknown male of B. querencia, based on a specimen collected from Reserva Mocambo, Belém, state of Pará, Brazil. The taxa described herein have scopula in the tarsi and metatarsi, and the males have a cymbial process, characters recorded for the first time for the genus. Additionally, we present an updated diagnosis for Berlandiella.

Sticherus holttumii, a new species from Brazil, is here described, illustrated, and compared to its most similar species. Additionally, S. brevitomentosus is recorded for the first time in Brazil, based on a recent collection from Pico da Neblina National Park. We also provide an identification key to all species of Sticherus from the Brazilian Amazon.
