A new species of Ferorhinella Carvalho & Webb 2004 from southeastern Brazil is described and illustrated, and a taxonomic key to species in the genus is provided. Ferorhinella itatiaiensis sp. nov. can be distinguished from other known species of the genus mainly by the paramere with rounded apex and two subapical lateral spines on outer surface, one long, dorsally inserted and the other one small, ventrally inserted; and dorsal margin of the subgenital plates with a rectangular elevation, covered with small, tooth-like spines.

A plant formerly misidentified as Amomum maximum in Guangxi, China, is described here as a new species, namely A. fangdingii. A detailed description, distribution map and illustrations are provided together with a taxonomic key distinguishing A. fangdingii from eight morphologically similar species characterised by cincinnate inflorescences occurring in Cambodia, China, Laos and Vietnam.

Hundreds of years of botanical exploration in heavily populated and highly accessible eastern North America have not exhausted taxonomic prospects in the region. Here, I describe a new species of Asarum (Aristolochiaceae), Asarum rosei B.T.Sinn, from North Carolina, USA. This species is characterized and contrasted with species in Asarum subgenus Heterotropa section Hexastylis, and a revised artificial taxonomic key to the similar species in the section is provided.

A new species of the genus Odontocheila Laporte de Castelnau, 1834 is described from Brazil as Odontocheila parafemoralis sp. nov. Along with other species previously treated as subspecies of O. cajennensis (Fabricius, 1787), the new species is classified here as a species of the O. cajennensis species-complex (within the O. cajennensis species-group). It was commonly confused in collections with O. bipunctata (Fabricius, 1792) and O. femoralis Chaudoir, 1860. Specimens from Itaituba, Rio Tapajoz, Pará (the type locality of the new species) were previously considered by the present author to be aberrant adults of O. oseryi (Lucas, 1857) and were also included within the species in the taxonomic revision of the genus (Moravec 2018). A recent examination of numerous specimens from Itaituba has revealed that they represent an undescribed species, which is diagnostically separated from all taxa of the O. cajennensis species-complex. Consequently, it is described here as new to science. Illustrations of the habitus, diagnostic characters and variability of the new species and distinguishing characters of similar species are presented in colour photographs. A revised key to species of the O. cajennensis species-complex (within the complete O. cajennensis species-group) is presented with reference to the taxonomic revision of the genus (Moravec 2018). An essential map of distribution is also given.

A new species of the genus Odontocheila Laporte de Castelnau, 1834 is described from Venezuela as Odontocheila paraexcisipenis sp. nov. It is classified as a further species of the large O. cajennensis species-group and described subsequent to the recently published revision of the genus (Moravec (2018). Illustrations of the habitus, diagnostic characters and variability of the new species and distinguishing characters of similar species are presented in colour photographs. Revised key to species of the O. cajennensis species-group is presented with references to descriptions and illustrations of other species of the species-group in the above-cited taxonomic revision of the genus. An essential map of distribution is also given.

A new Seimatosporium species was collected from Quercus robur, in Germany. Morphological and phylogenetic analyses (maximum-parsimony and Bayesian analyses) of combined LSU and ITS datasets confirmed that our collection is distinct from other known species. It is introduced here as a new species, Seimatosporium quercina. The new species is compared with other similar Seimatosporium species and a description and illustrations are provided. A taxonomic key is provided to differentiate S. quercina from other morphologically similar species.

A new species of iceryine scale insect, Icerya viraktamathi Joshi sp. n. (Hemiptera: Monophlebidae), is described and illustrated based on adult females collected from Magnolia champaca (L.) Baill. ex Pierre (Magnoliaceae) in Meghalaya, North-East India. A taxonomic key to the species of Icerya Signoret known from India is provided. The new species appears to be related to I. zimmermanni, which is known from Indonesia, Thailand and India.
