A new South American genus of Delphacini (Hemiptera: Fulgoromorpha: Delphacidae), Neodelphax n. gen., is described. It includes a new species, N. sakakibarai sp. n., which is described herein, and two species that are removed from the genus Dicranotropis. All of them are illustrated. Supplementary descriptions of female N. fuscoterminata (Berg) comb. n. and N. acheron (Fennah) comb. n., including some new records and host plant associations are added. A preliminary key for males and females of South American species of Neodelphax with representative illustrations is also provided.

AbstractA soldier-based key to the South American species of Heterotermes is presented. Six species are recognized: H. assu sp. n., H. convexinotatus, H. crinitus, H. longiceps, H. sulcatus and H. tenuis. H. assu sp. n., is described from the Brazilian Atlantic forest, including the imago, soldier and worker castes. H. assu is also recorded from urban areas as a pest. The imago of H. longiceps is described and illustrated for the first time. The soldiers of all species are illustrated and their known distribution mapped, with several new records.

The mite order Opilioacarida is widely distributed in the tropical and sub-tropical zones of the world, where it is rare and poorly known. On the American continent only two genera, 14 species and one subspecies are known. This work aimed to describe a new species of Caribeacarus from the state of Pará, in the eastern part of the Brazilian Amazon. A phylogenetic analysis of the species in this genus is also presented, and interpreted along with the historical biogeography of this genus in Central and South America. A key to the species of Caribeacarus is provided.

A new species of the Palaeophileurus Kolbe (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Dynastinae: Phileurini) is described from Colombia, Ecuador, and Guyana along with supporting illustrations and a diagnosis. A checklist of Palaeophileurus species is included with a new country record for Colombia of Palaeophileurus proximus Dechambre.

Pseudognaphalium is a large genus with about 90 species distributed worldwide, but with most species in America, and some in Asia, and Africa. A new species, P. munoziae, from the north of Chile (Parinacota and Iquique provinces), is described and illustrated. Pseudognaphalium munoziae is similar to P. glandulosum but it is principally distinguished by its rosulate basal leaves which are longer than the upper, all of which are apically acute to subobtuse. A key to the species of dwarf Pseudognaphalium occurring in Chile is provided along with a map of their distribution.

Wirada Keyserling, 1886 is one of the smallest genera of Theridiidae with only five South American species (World Spider Catalog 2018). Keyserling (1886) described first Wirada punctata (male) from Peru. Simon (1895) described W. rugithorax and W. tovarensis (males) from Venezuela, but Levi (1963) synonymized W. rugithorax with W. punctata. Later, Levi (1967) described W. tijuca (male) from southeastern Brazil, and lately Lise et al. (2009) described W. sigillata Lise, Silva & Bertocello, 2009 and W. araucaria Lise, Silva & Bertocello, 2009 (males and females) from southern Brazil. Simon (1894) placed Wirada in its group Histogonieae, and stated it is close to Pholcommateae. Until now, none species of Wirada has been included in any phylogenetic study of Theridiidae, only Agnarsson (2004) when commented the Pholcommatinae said “Based on the synapomorphies of the group it is likely that ... Wirada belong to this subfamily.” Recently, this genus was reported (as Wirada sp1) from two localities in Mexico (Ibarra et al. 2011; Álvarez-Padilla 2015; Rivera-Quiroz et al. 2016) and subsequent samplings on three other sites from Chiapas (Campuzano et al. 2016) exposed more specimens. After examining these specimens, we found they do not match any of the known species and therefore we propose a new species. We also include taxonomic and biological notes about the genus and a key to the species.

A new South American species of Salacia (Celastraceae, Salacioideae) found in Colombia and Venezuela, Salacia fugax Lombardi & M.Serna is described here. It is characterized by its indument, small long acuminate leaves with short petioles, branched inflorescences, flowers with an annular-pulvinate disk, and small pyriform fruits. This new species resembles S. mennegana J.Hedin ex Lombardi and S. opacifolia (J.F.Macbr.) A.C.Sm. by its short petioles, leaf shape, slender branched inflorescence, perianth form, and similar disc, but S. fugax differs by its hairs, leaf size and apex, calyx, and fruit size and shape.

A new species and eight new subspecies of Papilionoidea discovered in Vietnam between 2002 and 2020 are described and illustrated. The status of two taxa are revised. New taxa include Pieridae: Delias sanaca bidoupa Monastyrskii & Vu subspec. nov. and Talbotia naganum aurelia Monastyrskii & Vu subspec. nov.; Nymphalidae: Abrota ganga pulcheria Monastyrskii & Vu, subspec. nov.; Bassarona recta consonensis Monastyrskii & Vu, subspec. nov.; Pantoporia bieti aurantina Monastyrskii & To subspec. nov.; Ragadia latifasciata cristata Monastyrskii & Vu, subspec. nov.; Ragadia latifasciata crystallina Monastyrskii & Vu, subspec. nov.; Faunis indistincta luctus Monastyrskii & Vu subspec. nov. & Aemona gialaica Monastyrskii, K. Saito & Vu, spec. nov. The taxon infuscata Devyatkin & Monastyrskii, previously described as the subspecies Aemona tonkinensis infuscata, was elevated to the species level, while the taxon critias (Ragadia critias Riley & Godfrey) was reduced to a subspecies. Three Satyrinae species were recorded from Vietnam for the first time: Palaeonympha opalina Butler, 1871; Ypthima motschulskyi Bremer & Grey, 1853; and Ragadia latifasciata Leech, 1891.

Hysterionica s.l. (including Neja) comprises ca. 15 species distributed mainly in the grasslands of southern Brazil, Uruguay, central and northern Argentina and Southern Paraguay. Based on field surveys, study of nomenclatural types and other specimens, and review of literature, a new species is proposed here, Hysterionica chamomilloides, endemic of mountainous regions of northern Uruguay, and southwestern Rio Grande do Sul state, Brazil. This work provides a detailed morphological description of the new species, information on its geographic distribution, habitat, phenology, conservation status, and discusses the main differences between H. chamomilloides and the morphologically most similar species. Illustrations, images and a key to the South American species of Hysterionica are also supplied.

Genus Notarchispsu. gen. is erected for Archipsocus macrurusNew and a new species. Genus MonocladellusEu-derlein in placed in synonymy of, PolypsocusHagen. South American species assigned to genus LophopterygllaEnderlein by New (1979) are. reassigned to Myopscus and represent a parallel development in the latter genus.

We describe a new species, D. sonorae Heed and Castrezana from Sonora, Mexico in the repleta species group of Drosophila (Drosophilidae, Diptera). This species is morphologically similar to other members of the newly established D. longicornis complex, and the well-established D. longicornis cluster. Host plant associations, biogeography, and distributions of species in both the longicornis and mulleri species complexes are discussed here.
