Two new marine sponges, Haliclona ieoensis sp. nov. and Haliclona sumenyoensis sp. nov. from the south Korea are described. Morphologically distinct from each other, both species are assigned to the genus Haliclona subgenus Haliclona. Haliclona ieoensis sp. nov. individuals are thickly encrusting to massive, beige colour and have small oscules flush on surface. Haliclona sumenyoesis sp. nov. individuals have a cylindrical tube with flexible stalk morphology, ivory colour, and large oscules. The description of these two new species brings the species of Haliclona (Haliclona) in Korea to five.

Herein two new species of the genusSyngastesMonard, 1924 are described from South Korea, with detailed descriptions and illustrations. Both new copepods,Syngastesmulticavussp. nov. andS. pseudofoveatussp. nov., have two inner setae on the first exopodal segment of P2 and P3.Syngastesmulticavussp. nov. most closely resemblesS. gibbosusBartsch, 1999 reported from Australia, as they both have a five-segmented antennule in the female. However,Syngastesmulticavussp. nov. has a rounded body outline instead of the gibbose outline observed inS. gibbosus.Syngastespseudofoveatussp. nov. resemblesS. foveatusBartsch, 1994 in almost all aspects. However, they differ clearly in the number of setae on the first exopodal segment of P2 and P3. We also provide a key to species of the genusSyngastesworldwide. The present study is the first record of the family Tegastidae in Korean waters.

Two new species of the genus Styela are described, with very rare characteristics in this genus: both are shallow-water and tropical, with more than two gonads in each side of the body. Styela panamensis sp. nov. is described from specimens collected in Bocas del Toro, Atlantic coast of Panama, and Styela multicarpa sp. nov. from specimens collected in Espírito Santo, Brazil and Margarita Island, Venezuela. They are probably native to the south Caribbean and S. multicarpa sp. nov. is introduced in Brazil.

In this contribution we present updates on the taxonomy and morphology of the South American species of Amitermes. Two new species are described: Amitermes bandeirai, sp. n., from Brazil, and Amitermes lilloi, sp. n., from Argentina. Amitermes nordestinus is a junior synonym of Amitermes aporema. The imago of A. aporema is described for the first time. Detailed comparative gut anatomy of the eight species is presented for the first time. The geographic distribution of Amitermes in South America is expanded and the distribution patterns of some species are discussed.

Two new species, Pseudostichopus langeae and Psolus griffithsi, and a new South African record, Molpadia musculus Risso, are described from some deep-sea material collected off the South African west and south coasts. This material also contains the well known Pseudocnella insolens (Théel), Ocnus capensis (Théel), Rhopalodinopsis capensis Heding and an indeterminate Thyone sp.

Only two genera of the cosmopolitan tribe Cephenniini are known to occur in the People's Republic of China: Cephennodes Reitter and Cephennomicrus Reitter. The former is species-rich and abundant, especially in subtropical and sub-Himalayan areas, and so far nearly 80 species have been recorded in China. Cephennomicrus is rare, and only two species have been found in this vast country, in the south-eastern province of Fujian. Two new species are reported to occur in Yunnan: Cephennomicrus yunnanicus sp. n. and C. andreasi sp. n.
