Objective: To identify the satisfaction level of the elderly on the health services provided by The Chronic Disease Management Program (prolanis) at the Public Health Center (puskesmas). Methods: A descriptive quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach had been carried out to 112 elderly from 8 puskesmas in Bandung City, West Java, Indonesia. This study was conducted from August until November 2019. The variables in this study were 5 dimensions of the SERVQUAL. The collected data were analyzed using percentages and the Importance-Performance matrix. Results: The satisfaction level of the elderly on the health services provided by the prolanis was 92%. The dimension that has the highest satisfaction level was the assurance dimension (94,6%) and the lowest one was the tangibles dimension (84,8%). The result of the importance-performance matrix showed that assurance, responsiveness, and empathy dimensions needed to be maintained to reach the patient’s satisfaction. Conclusions: The elderly satisfaction on the health services provided by the prolanis is high in every dimension of the SERVQUAL.

Introduction: Population aging and related issues are among the most important challenges in different countries. It seems that the use of remote technology can provide the elderly with better healthcare services and can help them to manage chronic diseases. This research aimed to investigate the experts' views about the feasibility of using mobile-based technology to manage chronic diseases in the elderly. Methods: This was a survey study which was completed in 2018. The participants were the faculty members of the department of geriatrics across the country (n=33). In order to collect data, two questionnaires were used. The first questionnaire contained questions related to the five dimensions of a feasibility study and the second questionnaire consisted of five open questions about the opportunities, threats, strengths and weaknesses of using mobile-based technology in chronic disease management. The qualitative data were analyzed by using content analysis method and the quantitative data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics. Results: From the participants’ perspectives, it was feasible to use mobile-based technology in chronic disease management for elderly people. The mean values for five feasibility dimensions were as follows: ethico-legal dimension (4.09±1.01), scheduling dimension (3.70±1.03), economic dimension (3.47±1.04), operational dimension (3.42±1.12) and technical dimension (3.07±1.27). While such a technology can help increasing the accessibility of healthcare services, raising health literacy, and saving time and costs, the main threats, namely; the misinterpretation of information and the possibility of breeching confidentiality should not be underestimated. Conclusion: The results showed that mHealth and remote medical technologies can be used for chronic disease management among elderly people. However, these technologies have some strengths and weaknesses. In order to succeed in the development and implementation of these projects, it is essential to consider probable threats and weaknesses before implementing the applications.

The Mobile Chronic Disease Management Service (MCDMS) is an emerging medical service for chronic disease prevention and treatment, but limited attention has been paid to the factors that affect users’ intention to adopt the service. Based on the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology 2 and the protection motivation theory, the authors built an MCDMS adoption model. The authors also verified the differentiating age effect on the service adoption intention from experiential distance perspective of the construal level theory. Empirical results showed that the young group focused more on the impact of effort expectancy, whereas the elderly group focused more on performance expectancy, imitating others, and perceived severity. Furthermore, the young group, however, focused more on the impact of perceived vulnerability, and offline medical habits showed no significant influence on either group’s intention to adopt, which were not consistent with the original hypotheses. The findings can aid MCDMS providers in selecting marketing strategies targeted toward different age groups.

Elderly is a global concern since the number of elderly populations is increasing, which also become one of the concerns of the national health insurance (JKN). Health insurance for the elderly has a package of benefits according to physical conditions and degenerative diseases. Since the elderly is susceptible to disease, Indonesia has Healthcare and Social Security Chronic Disease Management Program, National Health Insurance known as Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial Program Pengelolaan Penyakit Kronis (BPJS Prolanis) to guarantee the health of elderly. This study aims to obtain an overview of the implementation of BPJS Prolanis in the community which located in Yogyakarta in order to give the feedback for this program. This research using qualitative method, with phenomenological research approach, which conducted in Yogyakarta during 2020. The result showed that most of the elderly, which is 221 (77.5%) elderly already have the health insurance, but only 38.9% who has BPJS Prolanis. Besides, there are more than 50% of the elderly have disease that often complained of. Hence, this study proposed suggestions for BPJS Prolanis, such as giving a continues education for the elderly through public health center. Besides, public health center can hold a promotive and preventive activities for the elderly to increase the awareness of the elderly on having the BPJS Prolanis.
