The Mobile Chronic Disease Management Service (MCDMS) is an emerging medical service for chronic disease prevention and treatment, but limited attention has been paid to the factors that affect users’ intention to adopt the service. Based on the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology 2 and the protection motivation theory, the authors built an MCDMS adoption model. The authors also verified the differentiating age effect on the service adoption intention from experiential distance perspective of the construal level theory. Empirical results showed that the young group focused more on the impact of effort expectancy, whereas the elderly group focused more on performance expectancy, imitating others, and perceived severity. Furthermore, the young group, however, focused more on the impact of perceived vulnerability, and offline medical habits showed no significant influence on either group’s intention to adopt, which were not consistent with the original hypotheses. The findings can aid MCDMS providers in selecting marketing strategies targeted toward different age groups.

This study aimed to explore the health service needs of empty nest families from a household perspective. A multistage random sampling strategy was conducted to select 1606 individuals in 803 empty nest households in this study. A questionnaire was used to ask each individual about their health service needs in each household. The consistency rate was calculated based on their consistent answers to the questionnaire. We used a collective household model to analyze individuals’ public health service needs on the family level. According to the results, individuals’ consistency rates of health service needs in empty nest households, such as diagnosis and treatment service (H1), chronic disease management service (H2), telemedicine care (H3), physical examination service (H4), health education service (H5), mental healthcare (H6), and traditional Chinese medicine service (H7) were 40.30%, 89.13%, 98.85%, 58.93%, 57.95%, 72.84%, and 63.40%, respectively. Therefore, family-level health service needs could be studied from a family level. Health service needs of H1, H3, H4, H5, and H7 for individuals in empty nest households have significant correlations with each other (r = 0.404, 0.177, 0.286, 0.265, 0.220, p < 0.001). This will be helpful for health management in primary care in rural China; the concordance will alleviate the pressure of primary care and increase the effectiveness of doctor–patient communication. Health service needs in empty nest households who took individuals’ public needs as household needs (n = 746) included the H4 (43.3%) and H5 (24.9%) and were always with a male householder (94.0%) or at least one had chronic diseases (82.4%). Health service needs in empty nest households that considered one member’s needs as household needs (n = 46) included the H1 (56.5%), H4 (65.2%), H5 (63.0%), and H7 (45.7%), and the member would be the householder of the family (90.5%) or had a disease within two weeks (100.0%). In conclusion, family members’ roles and health status play an important role in health service needs in empty nest households. Additionally, physical examination and health education services are the two health services that are most needed by empty nest households, and are suitable for delivering within a household unit.

Background: Patients with permanent colostomy experience quality of life (QoL) decrease, complications, and colostomy adjustment problems. Technology-based interventions can be provided with telephone follow-up (TFU) to provide health education and advice on managing symptoms, identifying complications, and providing quality care services. Objective: To systematically describe and assess the effect of TFU on permanent colostomy include population, model and duration, instruments used, and effect of TFU. Materials and Methods: A systematic review was carried out using the Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) approach in eight databases, including PubMed, Proquest, ScienceDirect, EBSCOhost, CANCERLIT, Wiley, Gray literature, and Scopus, to identify studies reported in English, published in the last ten years, available full text, and about TFU in permanent colostomy patients. Results and Discussion: Based on the 11 RCT articles analyzed, it was found that the TFU duration ranged from 27 days to 3 years. The TFU improved self-efficacy, QoL, colostomy adjustment, self-care, self-management, service satisfaction, and complications. Conclusion: The TFU has more effect on self-efficacy, QoL, and complications in patients with a permanent colostomy, and effective TFU was performed for at least three months. Further research is needed on the frequency or duration of telephone calls. Bangladesh Journal of Medical Science Vol. 21(1) 2022 Page : 54-66

The topic of non-intrusive load monitoring (NILM) has seen a significant increase in research interest over the past decade, which has led to a significant increase in the performance of these systems. Nowadays, NILM systems are used in numerous applications, in particular by energy companies that provide users with an advanced management service of different consumption. These systems are mainly based on artificial intelligence algorithms that allow the disaggregation of energy by processing the absorbed power signal over more or less long time intervals (generally from fractions of an hour up to 24 h). Less attention was paid to the search for solutions that allow non-intrusive monitoring of the load in (almost) real time, that is, systems that make it possible to determine the variations in loads in extremely short times (seconds or fractions of a second). This paper proposes possible approaches for non-intrusive load monitoring systems operating in real time, analysing them from the point of view of measurement. The measurement and post-processing techniques used are illustrated and the results discussed. In addition, the work discusses the use of the results obtained to train machine learning algorithms that allow you to convert the measurement results into useful information for the user.

The study aimed to analyze and compare several algorithms in the context of networks services placement, and then proposed a self-organized dynamic heuristic algorithm adaptable to continually changing network conditions in order to achieve the ideal placement of services replicas in future networks. It is known that future networks demand a high degree of self-organization to keep pace with ongoing changes while maintaining performance optimized. One of the important challenges in this context is the services placement problem. Service placement issue refers to the selection of the most appropriate network node for hosting a service. The ideal placement of services replicas reduces the cost of serving customers, improves connectivity between clients and servers as well as the use of available resources. The study summarized the results of qualitative comparison between several placement algorithms and refers to the most important requirements to be taken into account when implementing the placement algorithm. Generally, each service has its own placement technique, and the action taken by a specific service may affect other services decisions and force them to adapt. There is an urgent need to  a management service for managing services replicas to make the optimal placement decision. This service should work in a distributed manner and does not require comprehensive knowledge about the  network. It is also characterized by its ability to adapt to changing network conditions in terms of load and topology. Other services coordinate with the management service about replicating or migrating actions,  thus services will be offered  at a minimized cost.

This study aims to analyse and explain the application of bureaucratic reform from aspects of public service and its implication in Indonesia. This research was carried out within the Makassar City Government of the South Sulawesi Province. The type of analysis used is a case study. The data sources in this study are primary data. Primary data is data obtained by researchers directly, while secondary information is data collected by researchers from existing sources. The determination of informants is determined sequentially. Informants in this study amounted to seven people, consisting of four service users and three service providers. Data collection techniques are carried out by document study, observation, and interviews. The results of the study show that the community can also participate in providing services with information technology. The district does not have to come directly to the Environmental Management Service to submit the file to the complaint. At present, the community participates in giving advice and claims that have been carried out. The application of information technology has also created efficient services to be able to take advantage of information technology and positively support infrastructure.
