In this paper, designing of acceptance sampling plans for the truncated life test is suggested by assuming that the product lifetime follows transmuted generalized inverse Weibull distribution (TGIWD). For various values of the TGIWD parameters, the minimum sample sizes required to ensure the specified mean life are obtained, as well as the operating characteristic function values and producer’s risk of the suggested sampling plan are calculated. The results are explained by numerical examples and an application of real data is considered for illustration.

In this paper, acceptance sampling plans (ASPs) are proposed for the new Weibull-Pareto distribution (NWPD) percentiles assuming truncated life tests at a pre-determined time. The minimum sample sizes essential to assert the specified percentile are calculated for a given consumer’s risk. The operating characteristic function values of the developed ASPs and producer’s risk are provided. A real data set related to the breaking stress of carbon fibers data are presented for illustration.

AbstractIn this article, acceptance sampling plans are developed for the exponentiated Fréchet distribution based on percentiles when the life test is truncated at a pre-specified time. The minimum sample size necessary to ensure the specified life percentile is obtained under a given customer's risk and producer's risk simultaneously. The operating characteristic values of the sampling plans are presented. One example with real data set is also given as an illustration.

An acceptance sampling plan for Gompertz distribution under a truncated life test is developed. For different acceptance numbers, consumer’s confidence levels and values of the ratio of the experimental time to the specified mean lifetime, the minimum sample sizes required to ensure the specified mean lifetime are obtained. The operating characteristic function values and the associated producer’s risks are also presented. An example is provided to illustrate the acceptance sampling plan.

In this paper, double acceptance sampling plans are developed for a truncated life test, when the lifetime of an item follows the Marshall-Olkin extended exponential distribution. The probability of acceptance is calculated for different consumer’s confidence levels fixing the producer’s risk at 0.05. The probability of acceptance and the producer’s risk are explained by means of examples.

This paper deals with the new operating procedure of Acceptance Sampling Plans for costly or destructive products when the incoming lots have mixed quality characteristics. The Operating Characteristic function and other associated measures of the plan are derived and provided. The procedure is given and designing of sampling plan are indexed through standard quality levels. Tables are constructed for easy selection of the plan.Illustrations are also provided.

In this paper, we try to contribute to the distribution theory literature by incorporating a new bounded distribution, called the unit generalized inverse Weibull distribution (UGIWD) in the (0, 1) intervals by transformation method. The proposed distribution exhibits  increasing and bathtub shaped hazard rate function. We derive some basic statistical properties of the new distribution. Based on complete sample, the model parameters are obtained by the methods of maximum likelihood, least square, weighted least square, percentile, maximum product of spacing and Cram`er-von-Mises and compared them using Monte Carlo simulation study. In addition, bootstrap confidence intervals of the parameters of the model based on aforementioned methods of estimation are also obtained. We illustrate the performance of the proposed distribution by means of one real data set and the data set shows that the new distribution is more appropriate as compared to unit Birnbaum-Saunders, unit gamma, unit Weibull, Kumaraswamy and unit Burr III distributions. Further, we construct chi-squared goodness-of-fit tests for the UGIWD using right censored data based on Nikulin-Rao-Robson (NRR) statistic and its modification. The criterion test used is the modified chi-squared statistic Y^2, developedby Bagdonavi?ius and Nikulin, 2011 for some parametric models when data are censored. The performances of the proposed test are shown by an intensive simulation study and an application to real data set
