Mobile ad-hoc Network [MANET] is the collection of mobile nodes deployed with the short-lived purpose. It is the most innovative and useful variety which provide the facility to establish communication without the prerequisite of any infrastructure. Here, wireless communication medium is usually used for communication and connection establishment purpose. Generally, it is deployed with mobile nodes but can be used for stationary design also. Open nature communication makes it vulnerable for several security threats. This paper has considered the simulation of AODV and ODMRP using Qualnet 5.2 simulator.

Routing protocol is the essential and vital performance factor in the Mobile Ad-hoc Network. The routing protocols in MANET are accomplished to handle a lot number of nodes with restricted resources. There is a variety of routing protocol exist in MANET. The routing protocol which is chosen may have an effect on the performance of network. In this paper, We perform a comparative study of DSDV, CSGR, WRP, AODV, OLSR, DSR, TORA, ZRP, ZHLS, DYMO routing protocol with respect to Routing Approaches, Routing structure, Route selection, Route, Routing table, Route maintenance, Operation of protocols, Strength, Weakness.

<span>A mobile ad hoc network (MANET) can be seen as a mobile nodes collection having no support of fixed infrastructure and therefore its communication is totally dependent on the network's nodes. As a result of the mobility of nodes, rapid and unpredictable changes occur within the mobile ad hoc network (MANET) arrangements. Therefore, this makes the analysis of routing protocols very crucial so as to enhance efficient communication between the wireless nodes. IPv4 and IpV6 within the MANET is another issue of concern. IPv4 which has been traditionally used for ages and IPv6; predicted to be the forthcoming network architecture model is investigated because of its protection which has been improved as well as its enormous address space provision. The analysis on Ad Hoc On Demand Vector and Dynamic Manet On Demand routing protocols are performed using Qualnet simulator under the IPv4 and IPv6 standards. A thorough evaluation of the usability and functionality of the simulator software is carried out. The metrics for performance are; Throughput, End-to-End Delay and Average jitter. Afterwards, analyses and summary of the results is conducted and summarized in order to make available an assessment of their performances.</span>

A mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) is composed of mobile nodes without any infrastructure. Mobile nodes selforganize to form a network over radio links. The goal of MANETs is to extend mobility into the realm of autonomous, mobile and wireless domains, where a set of nodes form the network routing infrastructure in an ad-hoc fashion. The majority of applications of MANETs are in areas where rapid deployment and dynamic reconfiguration are necessary and wired network is not available. Due to their time varying nature of the topology of these networks traditional routing methods cannot be directly used .In this paper a number of routing protocols which are used in MANETS are studied and compared on a range of parameters.

The energy protocols that have a mechanisms of shortest path routing considered predominant in the networking scenarios. The interesting matter in the routing protocols designing deal with mobile ad hoc network (MANET) must have an energy efficient network for better network performances. The Performances of such routing protocols that can be assessed will be focused on many metrics like delay, throughput, and packet delivery.  MANET is a distribution network, having no infrastructure and network decentralization. There routing protocols are utilized for detecting paths among mobile nodes to simplify network communication. The performance comparison of three protocols are Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR), the second is Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV), while the third is Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) routing protocols concerning to average energy consumption and mobile node numbers are described thoroughly by NS-3 simulator.  The nodes number is changing between 10 and 25 nodes, with various mobility models. The performance analysis shows that the suggested protocols are superior in relations to the energy consumption for networking data transmission and the performance of the wireless network can be improved greatly.

Mobile Ad-hoc network (MANET) is a collection of self configuring, multi-hop wireless network. Due to the mobility and dynamic nature of MANET, network is not secure. MANET is more vulnerable to different types of attacks and security threats because of its characteristics. A routing protocol in a mobile Ad hoc network should be against both inside and outside attackers. Most of the routing protocols in MANETs assume that all the nodes in a network will cooperate to each other while forwarding data packets to other nodes. But intermediate nodes may cause several problems like it can deny to forward the packet, can also extract useful information from the packet or may modify the content of packet. Such nodes are referred as malicious nodes. We present a survey of the main types of routing protocols and some security threats and various detection scheme against attack.. This paper also classifies several common attacks against the ad-hoc networks routing protocols based upon the techniques that could be used by attackers to exploit routing messages.
