Abstract Background: This study aims to survey the demographic status of aesthetic plastic surgeons in an economically developed region and to investigate their continuing professional education needs in contents, training methods, and barriers in private and public hospitals. Methods: A cross-sectional survey with a self-administered questionnaire was conducted from January to December, 2020 in Guangdong, China. An in-depth key informant interviews were conducted to gain insights on the current demographic status. Demographic data and training needs assessment were collected and compared with the chi-square test, Fisher’s test, Mann-Whitney U-test using R software. Results: The disparity of surgeons’ demographic data between private and public hospitals was small. Over 60% of practicing aesthetic plastic surgeons transferred from other specialties, and one third of them had less than three years of working experience. Half surgeons attended training less than three times with an affordable expense of 1000-5000RMB. Almost 80% of them had strong willingness to attend a continuing professional education program. They prefer to attending further study in a tertiary hospital, short topic-focused training course with operation demonstrations. Their favorable training contents were rhinoplasty, eye surgery, and new technologies. Questionnaire survey revealed the likelihood that the surgeons had a graduate degree in public hospitals outweighed those in private hospitals (P<0.05). In-depth interview showed that the public hospitals focused more on repair and reconstructive surgery, academic research, whereas, private hospitals focused on market needs and were more profit-driven, where the organizational needs had influence on their different training needs for aesthetic plastic surgeons.Conclusion: It would be favorable to take the demographic status of aesthetic plastic surgeons and organizational needs into consideration in designing a continuing professional education program in plastic surgery.

Introduction. Types of nursing education in Indonesia are vocational, academic and professional. Professional education is higher education after an undergraduate program that prepares students to have jobs with specific skill requirements. The purpose of this study was to identify factors that affect student interest in continuing professional education nurses based on perception, motivation and support system. Method. The study design was a descriptive analytic cross-sectional approach. Unstratified sampling using random sampling with a sample of 111 respondents in health education institutions in karisidenan Banyumas, there are Harapan Bangsa Purwokerto Institute of Health Science, Purwokerto Muhammadiyah University, Jenderal Sudirman University.Data was analysed by using multivariate logistic regression. Results. The results of the study showed that no correlation  perception, motivation, and support system of nurses Profession election interest in health education institutions in-karisidenan Banyumas (p=0,999; 0,956; 0,135).Discussion. The most dominant factor affecting the interest of the nurse profession was support system.Keywords: interest, perception, motivation, support system, professional nurses

The article describes the experience of the private further professional education establishment in integration with private medical organizations as a hi-tech clinic base. The purpose of the experience was to work out an education program of professional retraining which enables medical organization to extend the range of its services. The demand for such programs investment stems from the gap between the professional level of medical workers training at universities and the needs of hi-tech segment of cosmetology service which requires highly qualified specialists.The gap between the increasingly changing market demands and the existing higher education offer may be bridged through involvement of practicing professionals in education process.The authors consider the best Russian and foreign practices of interaction between private medical establishments and private education establishments aimed at creation Centers of Excellence on the example of Neo Clinic Tuymen. The presented model shows the competitive advantages of a professional retraining education program characterized by a big concentration of resources per student and a high value of education service. The article may be useful for the university management in Russia in developing and updating strategies and programs of practice-oriented education that will meet the requirements of regional labour markets, concrete organizations and employers and contribute to graduates’ adaptation to actual production process.
