Introduction: Nurses performance is still not optimal. The aim this study was to develop a quality of nursing work life to improve nurse performance by integrating Swanson's theory of caring. Methods: An explanative observational design was used with cross-sectional approach. The sample was nurses in inpatient care, intensive care, surgical installations, neonates, hemodialysis from eight hospitals in East Java. The sample size of 430 respondents used total sampling. The variables included QNWL, individual, social and environmental, administrative factors, nurse performance. Data were collected using Nurse Quality of Communication with Patient Questionnaire (NQCPQ), Questionnaire of Personal and Organizational Values Congruence for Employee (Q-POVC), Questionnaire of Brooks & Anderson's quality of nursing work life. The data analysis used Partial Least Square. Results: Twenty-five indicators were declared valid (outer loading value> 0.5) with variable diversity was 24.43%, so that internal, social and environmental, operational and administrative factors affect the performance of nurses directly or indirectly through caring based on QNWL. Predictive relevance value was >0, which indicates that the model was  good enough. The individual factors (p= 0.043; T-Statistics= 2.040), social and environment factors (p= 0.025; T= 2.242), administrative factors (p= 0.001; T= 3.438) have significant influence QNWL based on caring and QNWL based on caring had a significant influence on nurse performance (p= 0.000; T= 4.997). Conclusion: The development of the QNWL model based on caring has good effect in improving nurse performance. From the developed model, nurse performance related to individual factors, social and environmental factors, administrative factors.

Introduction: Nurse turnover is a problem linked to low job satisfaction and organizational commitment; therefore, appropriate nurse retention strategy from nursing managers and human resource is needed. This study aims to explain the effects of job satisfaction and organizational commitment on nurse retention. Methods: This systematic review uses registration protocol from The Joanna Briggs Institute Guideline as a guide in the quality assessment of the summarized studies. Studies using the PICOS Framework were sourced from the following databases: Scopus, ScienceDirect, PubMed, EBSCOhost, JSTOR, SAGE, and ProQuest, published between 2010-2020, the study design was limited to cross-sectional, quasi-experiment, and randomized control trials. The feasibility study assessment used the Joanna Briggs Institute Critical Appraisal; the search keywords were adjusted according to the Medical Subject Headings and Boolean operators. The selection results are displayed in the PRISMA flow chart. Results: The initial search of the entire database found 8059 articles, then several duplication screenings of titles  30 articles were extracted. A feasibility assessment was carried out so that the remaining 25 articles were divided into two themes, namely job satisfaction and organizational commitment, each of which can affect nurse retention. According to this study, organizational commitment has a broader dimension of job satisfaction. Conclusion: Job satisfaction and organizational commitment have an influence on nurse retention; both are of concern for nurse managers to create effective nurse retention strategy.

Introduction: Picky eating is a disorder in eating patterns which is currently found in toddlers and parents have an important role in shaping the eating behavior of children. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation of parents' self-determination with the behavioral prevention of picky eating in toddlers. Methods: This study is a correlational analytic study with cross-sectional design. The independent variable in this study is parents’ self-determination and the dependent variable is behavioral prevention of picky eating. The population was parents with toddlers in the working area at the Public Health Center of Kedawung 1, Sragen, Central Java. A sample of 113 respondents was selected by cluster sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires demographic of the respondent, Basic Psychological Need Satisfaction and Frustration Scale/BPNSFS, and behavioral prevention of picky eating which was then analyzed using the Spearman-rank test. Results: Based on the characteristics, the majority of respondents are aged 21-39 years old, educated from junior to senior high, working as a housewife, and have a family income each month was less than the minimum wage of work. The results showed that most parents with self-determination in the good category correlate positively with the behavioral prevention of picky eating in their children (p value=0.000, r-value=0.487). Conclusion: Parents with self-determination in the good category also have good behavioral prevention of picky eating. The result of this study could be used by nurses to reference in health promotion into the prevention of picky eating in children.

Introduction: The long-term care in schizophrenia patients can cause care burdens, which will relate to the family's decision to do pasung. The perceived burden will be even heavier because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This review aims to identify the family care burden affecting pasung in schizophrenic patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This scoping review was conducted by searching four databases, namely ProQuest, Science Direct, and EBSCO, and Google Scholar in the past ten years. This study uses the PRISMA 2009 protocol in filtering articles from the database. Researchers summarize based on the significance value for quantitative research, based on themes’ qualitative research, and discussed factors mentioned which may influence the family. Thus, we obtained 15 articles for final review. Results: The results obtained that the subjective burden felt by the family is a feeling of worry and sadness due to the patient's aggressive behavior and the safety of the patient, family, and environment. The objective burdens most felt by families are financial burdens, both medical costs, transportation to reach mental health services, and the cost of daily living. The COVID-19 pandemic will affect both types of care burdens, thereby affecting the quality of care for families with schizophrenia patients in pasung. Conclusion: Schizophrenia patients are one of the populations that are vulnerable to COVID-19. Nurse plays a role in the ability to overcome the burden of schizophrenia care and improve adaptation to the current pandemic to create optimal mental health in the community.

Introduction: Knowledge transfer through mobile application needs assessment   to develop a user-friendly technology. However, the means to measure the need is unavailable. An instrument was developed from the Joanna Briggs new model of EBP to examine the nurses’ needs. This study aims to examine the reliability and validity of knowledge transfer through mobile application needs questionnaire for nurses. Methods: The validity of the questionnaire was examined for its content with Content Validity Index (CVI). CVI was measured for its relevance, ambiguity, clarity and simplicity on each item (I-CVI) and scale (S-CVI). Content validity assessment forms and guidelines were given to six experts in nursing and computer sciences. Their suggestions contributed to the questionnaire revision. Subsequently, the online questionnaire was completed by 40 nurses randomly selected in a hospital in Depok City. Internal consistency was analyzed for the reliability. Results: The CVI of this questionnaire is high with mean of I-CVI and S-CVI at 0.96 relevance, 0.98 ambiguity, 0.97 clarity and 0.94 simplicity. Cronbach’s alpha shows that the internal consistency is acceptable (0.87). Conclusion: The questionnaire is content valid and reliable. This questionnaire can be used to measure those needs and contribute to the design of a user-friendly mobile application.
