DF10 filter rod forming machine produced by Italy GD Automatic Machinery Ltd is the world's fastest filter rod maker adopting the design of dual-channel. To achieve automatic sampling detection on line, a PLC-based automatic separate channel filter rod sampling detection system has been designed. Mainly composed of a sampling and launching device, matching tube, receiving device, a test instruments, PLC control unit and data terminal, the system first samples the filter rods from the two channels, then launches them into the test instrument to measure their physical parameters, and after wards send the real-time feedback of testing data to the data terminal. The application results show that the system has the advantages of convenient operation, high stability, safety and reliability. With an effective batch’s completion rate above 98%, it greatly reduces the labor intensity of operators and QC personnel, and significantly improves the quality control capacity of filter rod production.

AbstractAs the pulse power and high power microwave source technologies gradually matured, technologies for enhancing the output capacities of high power microwaves are becoming more and more attractive. In this paper, two different methods for the increasing of X band microwave powers are discussed: diplexers based on microwave filter and photonic crystal. For the case of diplexer based on microwave filter, the dual channel X band microwaves transmit through the filters with high efficiencies, the polarization and radiation directions for the microwaves are the same. With the application of metal photonic crystal, the reflection and transmission of TE/TM polarized X band microwaves are realized simultaneously; thus, the dual channel microwaves have the same radiation direction. A pulse of 25 ns, 3.9 GW has been successfully obtained. However, according to the experimental results, the internal breakdown in these devices limits their power handling capacities when the peak power and pulse duration of the microwaves increase. In the end, several methods for enhancing the power handling capacities the diplexer have been proposed.

Abstract A dual-core photonic crystal fiber (PCF) with dual-channel based surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor is designed. The silver and gold films are severally coated in the inner walls of two large ring detection channels to excite the plasmon modes, which can make the designed sensor achieve the dual-channel sensing. The effect of structure parameters on the sensing properties and loss spectrum is numerically analyzed by finite element method (FEM). When the analyte refractive index (RI) changes from 1.340 to 1.360, the average spectral sensitivities of 4280 and 3940 nm/RIU are obtained for the left and right channels, corresponding to the RI resolutions of 2.34×10-5 and 2.54×10-5 RIU, respectively. The simulation results suggest that the designed dual-channel sensor can realize highly sensitive detection of two analytes simultaneously, which has a wide application in the fields of biomedical analysis and environmental monitoring.
