In this paper, we propose hybrid Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) design as alternative for current VMS scheme by collaborating internet connection and Disruption-Tolerant-Networks (DTN). The hybrid solution combines offline VMS that use radio networks and online VMS that utilizing satellite-based internet. Hybrid VMS aims to provide a more flexible VMS design and able to speed up delivery process of offline vessel’s data. The concept is both type of vessels must install a standard radio networks for data forwarding. The proposed method to speed up data delivery is by forwarding VMS data from one vessel to another using DTN forwarding scheme. Data can be forwarded to another offline vessel that will return to harbor earlier or to online vessels which have internet connection. Performance measurement is done through simulation analysis using ONE simulator. It aims to measure the speed up data delivery using hybrid VMS implementation compare to a pure offline VMS implementation. Simulation result show that hybrid VMS able to speed up data delivery for offline vessel data in 1.5 up to 2 times faster compare to a pure offline VMS implementation. Hybrid VMS also has advantages in flexible implementation by easily switching between online and offline VMS scheme, according to fisherman financial situation. Spray-and-Wait routing is the most suitable routing algorithm for hybrid VMS according to the efficiency ratio.

A HIP multicast mode; based dynamic multicast routing algorithm (HIPDMR) was brought out and network model was established to describe and simplify problem to be researched. HIPDMR used Bellman-Ford as routing search algorithm, which can determine dynamic multicast routing with minimum hop number and overhead while meet constraints of bandwidth, delay, jitter and packet loss rate. Simulation experiments result show that HIPDMR can build dynamic multicast routing under constraints of multiple QoS comparing with algorithms that not considering QoS assuming network node output link capacity be equal

In many complex manufacturing environments, the running equipment must be monitored by Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), which not only requires WSNs to have long service lifetimes, but also to achieve rapid and high-quality transmission of equipment monitoring data to monitoring centers. Traditional routing algorithms in WSNs, such as Basic Ant-Based Routing (BABR) only require the single shortest path, and the BABR algorithm converges slowly, easily falling into a local optimum and leading to premature stagnation of the algorithm. A new WSN routing algorithm, named the Quantum Ant Colony Multi-Objective Routing (QACMOR) can be used for monitoring in such manufacturing environments by introducing quantum computation and a multi-objective fitness function into the routing research algorithm. Concretely, quantum bits are used to represent the node pheromone, and quantum gates are rotated to update the pheromone of the search path. The factors of energy consumption, transmission delay, and network load-balancing degree of the nodes in the search path act as fitness functions to determine the optimal path. Here, a simulation analysis and actual manufacturing environment verify the QACMOR’s improvement in performance.

A new routing algorithm is proposed for FPGA to improve the increasing transformation cost of pseudo-Boolean Satisfiability algorithm in the routing process, which combined advantages of pseudo-Boolean Satisfiability and geometric routing algorithm. In the routing process, one of geometric routing algorithm-VPR5.0 was chosen firstly for FPGA routing. If not successful, then use pseudo-Boolean Satisfiability algorithm. Technique of static symmetry-breaking is also adding to carry out pretreatment of pseudo-Boolean constraints, detecting and breaking the symmetries in the routing flow. The purpose was to prune search path, and the cost was consequently reduced. Preliminary experiments results show that the hybrid approach can reduce the runtime observably, speed up the solving process, and have no adverse affect on overall program.

Comparison with conventional manual adjustment to control the drop speed in clinical infusion, the infusion monitoring system can achieve much more high reliability and efficiency, and is easy to realize the automation of infusion. So the infusion monitoring system has been designed in the last papers. To test the designed system performance, some experiments are done. And the result show that under requirement of the system precision, the time consumption increase with the incensement of speed difference value; Comparing to the conventional PID controller, the fuzzy-PID controller can achieve high precision and little stabilizing time consumption.
